How high is the prolactin level I suspect it's very very high. May be he suspects pituitary tumours and may want to carry out MRI to rule out that as the cause; thats only the logical reason for him to charge you that high. Kindly post the result let's see.

To the best of my knowledge no linkage at all. The pituitary gland is responsible for hormones production, when prolactin is unusually high they suspect pituitary gland tumours and recommend MRI scan or refer the patient to an endocrinologist for further investigation.
