@ Shilo, yes i can understand the difficulty in trying to keep your mind off ovulation and getting pregnant and the difficulty in friends getting pregnant so easily and having babies so soon after marriage it is not easy by any means. In regards to teh ovulation it is not that difficult usually women ovulate 14 days after their period begins so lets use your period/cycle as an example: if your period comes on the 4th of each month then you will ovulate on the 20th of the month so here is what you should do, have sex with your husband on the 16th, dont do anything on the 17th, have sex on the 18th and rest on teh 19th, then have sex on the 20th. It takes 48 hours for your husband to fully reload and produce enough sperm to fertalize the egg.

@ Negozi, thaks so much for teh compliment, i am just sharing my experience as i truley know how hard it is to get preganant and then have a live birth the woman that take it for granted are very foolish. I will keep you and everyone else in my prayers and im always sending everybody prositive energy and baby dust to ALL. I have listed a ovulation website below for anyone interested.

Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Yes it has been quiet here for a while, i am guilty as charged so let me not say much about that.
Working full time with motherhood is not easy but who am i to complain. I am the first to get up at 5.30am last to go to bed 11pm so even going on line to read blog's or threads is out of the question and is now a luxury .
How is everyone doing? Has anyone heard from my peace? The General comes in here so i am not worried. I guess people just want to stay away until they have good news to share and don't want to keep updating the same thing .
I do understand that and i think of all of you everytime. My son is going to be One very soon, i still can not believe it when i look at him after the long wait.
For a one year old he has only two teeth lipsrsealed i heard some have 10 or more and he is not walking yet on his own, just lazy like his daddy at his age i was already playing ball cheesy.
i am just grateful and thankful for everything even if he has only 2 teeth at 4 years old I am still thankful. You all please take care and update us when you can.

Great to hear from you Arly! Wow 1 year how time flies my son was one in July he is now 16 months and has 8 teeth sometimes they take long to come in.My son had 4 teeth for so many months then all of a sudden four more came up @ the same time so your LO may be the same. Hello ladies,
I cant begin to tell you how happy i am for just discovering this wonderful forum. I have being dying in silence for a while now, most nights,i cry myself to sleep wondering why i am going through this difficulty. here's my story: I am 25 years old  and married for 13months now.At 22(unmarried), i got pregnant and it was unplanned.I was really confused,i really wanted to keep the baby as prior to that time,i was suspecting that something might be wrong with me cos i didnt get pregnant for about 5years of irregular unprotected sex with my then boyfriend(now husband). I was faced with indecision until one fateful morning on the 13th of September 2008, i went and regretably got an abortion. 2years later (2010)we got married.I hoped that i would concieve immediately.I have a clock work regular 28-day cycle and i feel ovulation pain exacly on the 14th day,2weeks after ,i get my period so i felt that tracking ovulation wouldnt be a problem for me at all but  5months after my marraige i still hadnt concieved.Worried,i went to see a gynae,he placed me on clomid 50mg from cd 5-9 with no ultrasound or monitoring whatsoever,it didnt concieve, the next cycle,he upped the dosage to 150mg ,i still didnt concieve. The side effects were a little to much for me so i took a break still hoping that it will happen naturally. I noticed that i didnt get a lot of ewcm during ovulation so i got the preseed sperm friendly lubricant and used it up and  i still didnt concieve.last two months (1 year of ttc), my dh & i went to the hospital to get tested.I had a hsg and hormone test(day 3 & day 21 progesterone test which checks for ovulation inclusive) while dh had his semen analysed. All the tests came back normal except for my hsg which revealed that the dye didnt flow freely out of my left tube which might indicate a tubal blockage. My SIL who's a doctor said it shouldnt be a problem as most people ovulate from the right ovary. She placed i & dh on pregnacare vitamins for couples who are ttc.I am so stressed out about this situation and each time i hear that one friend or relative has just given birth or even concieved ,i get the feeling of self pity and i get so depressed .Though am genuinely happy for them, i cant help but wonder if am being punished for my action 3years ago. i am a christian,i have always trusted God in trying times but this one seems to be taking a toll on me.I am currently in my 2week wait & i dont feel any symptom.I dont know the next step to take.DH is so supportive and suprises me with his level of faith considering that i am more in tune with the things of God than him. Please reply if you have any tips, advice or suggestions.Feel free to ask me any questions.Thank you for even taking time to read this long post.Baby dust to everyone who's ttc.

Hi All,

@Arlington
If your son is not walking it could be due weakened bones due to lack of calcium, ensure he gets out daily and gets enough sunshine and gets enough milk. Consider supplementing his diet with multivitamins for children.

One of my daughter did not walk for 19 months until we discovered what we were doing wrong.

Hello ladies,
I posted on this forum last week and my post dissapeared. I decided to repost hoping that this time,it doesnt vanish too. I am 25years old and have been married for a year and a month now.My cycles are clock work regular.Exactly 28days no plus,no minus. I and DH dated for 8years and during that time, we were NTNP. 5 years into our relationship, just when we were beginning to suspect that something may be wrong with either one of us or both of us, i concieved. I was  happy but confused.I wanted to have our baby so badly but i was too scared of my parents reaction. My indecision went on until i was 8weeks along & on one fateful Saturday morning (13th September 2008)  I went and had an abortion. After the abortion, i fell into a state of depression. I hated myself so much,i hated my boyfriend(now husband) I always condenmed myself and felt i was so unworthy. 2years after, we got married . I hoped that i will concieve right away but 5months into my marraige i hadnt concieved.i panicked and went to see a gynae who placed me on clomid 50mg on days 5-9 with folic acid tabs.I didnt concieve in that cycle. In the next cycle, he upped my dosage to 150 mg. I wasnt being monitored and still didnt concieve in that cycle. My DH asked me to stop as the side effect (Ovary pain ) was a little too intense. I just continued taking my folic acid tabs and got the preseed fluid friendly lubricant while i secretly hoped it will happen naturally. At exactly 1year of ttc , we went in for some tests as suggested by the doctor. Mine was a HSG & Hormone profile while his was Semen analysis. All the results came back okay except my HSG which indicated that my left tube may be blocked. My doctor said that it didnt matter much as one tube was in good condition and most women ovulate more often on the right ovary. Right now i dont know the next step to take. I am only taking pregnacare for women and my DH is taking Wellman conception for men. We are going to see a different gynae today to see if there  is any other thing we can do to improve our chances.I am a Christian and have faith in God and his word but this one seems to be taking a toll on me. My DH  who isnt as intune with the things of God as i am even has more faith than me. Sometimes i feel, its my punishment for the sin i committed 3yrs ago though i have genuinely forgiven myself. Pls any suggestions, advice and questions are welcome. Baby dust to all the women who are TTC.Best of luck

@Arlington, GenBuhari, Aigboma etc I Thank God for your lives, I have been TTC for over 3 years nw and its not been funny, though I had decided to hand over all to my creator since I could do nothing on my own except by GOD, I had a miscarriage after 5 months last year september and since then nothing had happened, but I observed that since after the miscarriage I have been experiencing this terrible headache before and after my period and this had been giving me concern. I intend to go for HPT and HSG soon as recommended by by gyane, but I would like to know if anyone of us know a good gynae in Lagos mainland who I can meet with and be commited to. May God hear us all as we look forward to our bundles of joy. Best of luck and baby dust to yu all.

hi everyone,

just want to ask if anyone has heard of a drug called femara or letrozole. Heard it works just like clomid, but better for women with PCOS.

@ MSTIA, you can try Jaiyeola Hospital at 4 Bankole Street by Famous Bus Stop Bariga. The name of the Gynae is Dr George there phone no is 08055413857.You have to call them to book an appointment to see the doctor first. It was recommended by my sister as she was ttc and it was at the hospital that her case was managed. Today she has two lovely children!!
All the best and Godbless!

@lullabi I have heard that femara is similar clomid and dr's prescribe clomid or femara based on the dr's preference. I have also heard a lot God things about it.

Hello everyone, I have been away for a while now. I need to catch up and see whats going on.

This Ttc journey can be really exhausting. Mentally, emotionally and physically. God dey!

wow a lot has happened since i last visit i am very happy to say me and my LO arrived safe a sound in Nigeria, it actually took us 2 weeks to get over our jet leg.
@ Mystia i also lost a pregnancy @ five months it broke my heart i NEVER got over it until i conceived and had my son, who is now 17 months, glory be to G-d. The almighty brought back joy into my heart and he will do the same for you.
@lallabi i have taken femara in the past the benefit of it is that "it does not thin out the uterine wall as much a clomid" so it helps and makes it easier for the fertalize egg to implant in the wall and allow pregnancy to begin. apart from that clomid is still very good and often the number one drug of choice.
@ everyone else baby dust

Hi, Arlington thanks for opening this forum, i have be a silent reader of this forum for a while so decided to share my story for others who are Tc, hope i will be of help.

I was ttc for 2yrs, after a miscarriage, i had no period and we all know if there is no period, how will you get preggy, i was advised after seeking a natural alternative ways, as i was tired of medication prescribed by doctors. I was advised to try evening primrose and aganus castus. This helps to balance the women hormone and regulate it thereby restoring period and ovulation. I started in Oct, had my menses in Nov, and i was preggy by DEC, i couldn't believe it but with prayer i concur.

I am just sharing what works with me, it is left for other people to decide what they want and you can research more about the supplement on the internet. hopes this helps

Dear Arlington and fellow members,

The Lord has put laughter on my LIPS, he has taken away my shame, he has put dancing to my feet! I am finally pregnant! 8 weeks pregnant!

For every body that is TTC, just put your trust in God. He is faith full and true to his words. Keep praying, keep giving to the needy children, keep speaking to your body.

For those of you that missed my previous story of how I was fraudulently douped by a so called doctor Haastrup. you can read my story here.

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=318334.msg8934173#msg8934173

In sept, hubby and I decided to see a gynea at OMNI hospital lagos. The results were bad, I was not ovulating, had a blocked tube, hubby had very low sperm count with very poor motility.

Dr. Osagie said, our chances of conceiving naturally was 5% that we shld try IVF. We started saving up immediately and planned to start treatment Jan. next yr.

We went for a second opinion at County hospital , Ogba and the report was not better. We started doing a lot of prayer, fasting, taking food to the motherless babies. Nov 29th/30th, I expeted my period BUT it did nt come. I thot it was delayed due to stress. My boobs started hrting and became sore, hubby took me for a pregnancy test and it came out positive! we weNt for a confirmatory test and it was positive. I went for my first anti natAL natal yesterday and all is well.

dEAR EXPECTANT WOMAN, YOU ARE NEXT IN LINE FOR A MIRACLE!
