i'm pretty sure kevin is aware of paloma, i'm guessing he reasoned that since the girls seemed more united and paloma was their unifying force, it would be better to be for, than against them; and establish a connection with paloma. If the girls hadn't entered or came in looking as disunited as the guys, then he would have remained neutral. Though I agree he should be careful with paloma before he becomes a victim of the 'woman scorned' syndrome.
