I think phone has really, done more harm to me than good.

It makes me procrastinate... What i will have to do now, i will be tinking of leaving it the next day just to surf on NL.

I makes me lazy... All the time phone.. No time to do other thing, even if i get, i go just receive notification from fb, nl... Hia dere i go no more chores..

Makes me depressed if my ba3 is down, e go just be like say world don end...

Lastly, am currently suffering from finger pain... Too much pim pim pim, my finger they hot like fire...

Some times i go give my friends d phone in other to engage something in one way or thee other... But after dem return am.. Haa.. I go calculate all those days wey i neva press join, come see phone destroyer

The phone too is affecting me.

Instead of facing my estate work, I will be browsing instagram or nairaland. Instead of starting my week days with calls from 7:30, I will be browsing. There are so many requests I am not attending to fully.

Anyway, I do still need the internet on it for my estate work. I only just need to be focused

The only thing that reduces my phone craze is sch stress.
At home i could press phone from MORNING till NIGHT.. not even exaggerating. its not even funny!!

I had a bucket-load of very useful, engaging stuff(programming lessons, piano lessons etc)i swore i must do this vacay but for where?!? I've spent soooo much on data this past 1.5 month downloading and watching God knows what with this useless phone its getting out of hand. Somebody help!!!!

I was in your same on exact shoes about two years ago.. I couldn't take a dump without thinking about Nairaland.. It got to a point I started seeing my mentions in my head before I actually checked it! Fingers were burning, battery was in pains.. And it'll affect your sleep which in turn would affect your memory + https://www.nairaland.com/1576487/sleep-issues +.. At a point in time you'd forget to even flush the toilet or what someone told you five minutes ago.. I'm only online right now cause I was just watching a movie, I couldn't care less about which people have quoted me! I wanted to go on a dry run.. But it was hard.. (i.e No internet for 2 weeks) . then God answered my prayers.. I switched on my phone one day and voilà, it was bricked.. It spent 3 weeks at carlcare in lag.

I became the good boy you're meant to be.. Woke up on time.. Did all the chores before anyone even opened their eyes.. All out of boredom.. I even started exercising.. And when I got my phone back.. It was all gone.. The drive to check my Twitter account every 50 secs, the drive to read TheRock555 story.. Everything was gone.. It was just zen.. And I maintained it that way. Deleted my fb account, deleted NL account but due to some data loss and recover issue that happened my Nl account was reinstated...

My advice. Go find someone to give that device to for a month.. Someone who wouldn't give you even if you were drawing your last breath.. Find some engaging activities.. Try hitting the gym.. Going out.. Read some books.. It'll help

If you really wanna take control of your life I think you should dispose it.
I used to be a phone freak. I used an MTK device and we all know how tweakable MTK devices can be. I realised I spend too much time testing ROMs, soft-bricking the phone and resuscitating it. Sometimes, I do this at the expense of my work at the office. It was really a big problem for me. So I disposed it and since I need to still be online somehow for contact reasons I decided to purchase a Snapdragon device which cannot be tweaked. Afterwards, my focus is now on other important things. Lolz...though I must say I miss MTK devices but I'm grateful I don't have any.

Now mine was easy since I could just change the whole device and I'm good. But, I guess your own case is more serious.
Try to identify what keeps you so attached to the phone and try to eliminate it.
You need to be disciplined about it.

I don't really care if i am addicted to my phone since all i used it for is surf the net for current affairs(Nairaland), International politics, BBC, Aljazeera etc And Google questions that bothers me. I consider these stuffs productive so i don't really mind if i am addicted to it. Learning extends far beyond the walls of the classroom and your phone can really be of help.

Truth must be said...anyone wey talk say na pressing of fone dey consume him time most is eithr jobless, no goal aiming, non-focus n determind, and most of all, does not have bukata...because if u do have one or two or all mentioned, even make u get 10gig data, phone no go enter ur mind. Imagine u dey office n u never reach ur taget, abeg tell me if fone go enter ur mind, abi u get final exams or project defending, u cant jst tell me na phone go dey ur mind. The thing is the occupation of the mind and nothing more, if u occupy ur mind with resourcesfl and yielding thing trus me u wont know wen u forgot to buy data for ur fone.
