pls i need help about downloading a hitv decoder software and why are you guys not talking about HITV, pls enlighten me about it, i am not to internet and not new to to the site but just new to this forum stuff, I am almost a guru when it comes to anything electronics. i use my already know ideals, i believe you guys can help me out, thanks from porsie
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by emexi: 7:43am On Oct 18, 2009
@princeposi, its obvious that you may be in the wrong forum,  because this is fta,  and that stands for free to air,,   hitv is a pay per view channel,  i think theres  a hitv thread, on  nairaland, however try this, immediately you exit this site , go to hitv site you will see downloads, click on downloads and check for upgrade your strong recievers or if you are you using hitv , check for software for hitv ,,,, download that and save ,,, then using your rs232 cable , proceed to patch it to your receiver, but make sure that there will not be powerfailure while doing this ,,, but if you are still confused find any dealer to help you , feel free to read the past pages for more clarification, and you can still post more questions

Back from jungle,very big thanks to butoneday,george d and microgiant for keeping me updated while i was away.
I ve a very serious issue at hand,if there is any body who has the idea of how i ll separate up to 20 rf channels before distributing to more than 300 rooms should please help me with a solution. What i mean is that am using 20 receivers and am gonna bring out one channel from each receiver through rf,how do i then separate the channels without conflicts. Which device am i gonna use to separate the channels and how do i get a very good picture quality in all the 300 rooms. Some rooms range above 300meters. Please guys i need solutions and suggestions.

@george, pls help to confirm which bird these stations are on. Future tv,board tv,equinox tv. Thanks

@alancruise,
Future tv is on nilesat, equinoxe is on sirius 4. Board tv is neither here nor there. These stations have nothing special to offer, why bother about them?

@pito,

what i will suggest u do is to assign frequency to each receiver.u know the uhf frequency is withen 21-69.so assign frequency to each receiver and

may be u should even give a space between them like(21,23,25,27,29,31,33,35,etc)i think this will help u get all the channels on each tv set with

out conflict since each receiver has been given a uhf frequency.

@ Gorge_D
pls on wich sat is d 2M? and d tp. just didnt grap d station. thankz

@arabambi,
2M is on eutelsat w6. Use Arryadia 2 tp (11653v, 15714sr). However note that you may not be able to get it with less than 1.8m dish unless you live somewhere in the north.
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by bing(m): 10:09am On Oct 19, 2009
@all 2m @ w6 is still possible with 90cm in lagos as at last night.

@ all, crtv is now back.
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by GeorgeD1(m): 11:04am On Oct 19, 2009
@pitodenz,
There are a number of solutions you can employ for this.
1) You can decide to output the signals through dedicated uhf channels as Dejsam suggested but I noticed you can only leave a minimum gap of three (3) spaces between each channel, i.e 21, 23, 25, etc and it will stil leave out about four or five of the decoders.

2)The other solution is to use a quatro lnb with a multi-switch in which case you be able to feed the IF signals to as many as 300 recievers for the different rooms. But again, that will be too expensive.

3)The third and final solution-which is a mid way between the two options above- is to output all the decoders separately to a channel modulator where you can then select dedicated UHF channels (from 14 to 64) and then output this to a single RG6 cable for distribution. The extra expense here is the channel modulator but in the long run it will be cheaper to adopt this method than to go for the more expensive multi-switch plus multiple decoders option.

Kindly find time to go through the attached file:

Here's a pix of a typical channel modulator and a link for the specs:

     A friend of mine get 4.5 metre dish and using 4 lnb, he only use one of the lnb and i try to get hookup with one of is lnb but the distance is far to my house in which  i used 5 rows of wires and i didnot get any signa at all, so i will like to know what could be the problem.
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by GeorgeD1(m): 11:32am On Oct 19, 2009
@segunfms,
Your problem is signal loss as a result of distance and what you need is an in-line amplifier. You will need to install one each at the end of each roll of cable, so for the five rolls you need five in-line amps. Check the picture for an idea of what I mean.

Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by GeorgeD1(m): 11:35am On Oct 19, 2009
@segunfms,
There are many types but make sure you get one in which the frequency range is between 950-2300mhz. Those are the types you can use for KU band amplification.
