I spoke with one of their sales representative yesterday. he gave me the following breakdown with respect to the different packages.

1) #17,000 for the smallest
2) #29,000 for medium - 1.85m dish
3) #59,000 for full package - 2.4m mesh

Please note that the above payment is a one off. You receive over 80 channels.

@butoneday.By "one off" do u mean no subscription once some pays the amount prescribed by d company for installation&equipment purchase?

@toba,
You should not be carried away by this so called DFTV of a thing. I am thinking that what they will give you is similar to what we get when you install your equipment (eg 90cm, 1.8M and 2.4M dishes). I remember coming across the DFTV website sometime ago. I don't think they have a "hidden frequency" for their customers. Therefore, their installation should be Just like the normal FTA installations we do.
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by cantell(m): 7:17pm On Oct 12, 2009
why go to dftv when you can buy those dishes and install by urself. Their channels are fta.
Besides which landlord would allow his tenant to bring that size of dish to his house. A tenant With that size of dish can even claim the house!
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by odilibe(m): 7:48pm On Oct 12, 2009
all, dftv has no frequency or even a paytv, or  have an fta channel of their own, they only have their own fta receiver, they can only install normal fta channel , note those saying that dftv is a new satellite tv in nigeria , that statement is not correct, what they can offer is what you allready have free to air sattellite channels, ,  lol

obijack:

@ George D,

I stay in Ogudu, Lagos and I want to get a 2.4m dish for Nilesat so I can recieve MBC channels. Please kindly give me an idea of the prices of other things I will need(like the C bannd LNB) apart from the dish and cable.

Also, I want to use multple LNBs on it but I don't want it motorised.

Thanks.

@obijack,
Yes, ou can recieve nilesat with 2.4m in lagos. Good members like olofofo and others used that size dish for nilesat as at last year. However, the horizontal tps may be unstable and you may not enjoy it as much as using a 3.0m dish.
Since you want it fixed, and you intend to use multiple lnbs, you will need corresponding brackets to hold the lnbs on the tripods. Dejsam in kano can send you specialised brackets for your installation. For prices, c-band lnbs like STRONG or SUPERMAX, go for around N1,500 while the brackets are around N300 each. Ku lnbs like digisat can be bought for N800 and echosat 0.1db is about N1500.

Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by GeorgeD1(m): 8:21pm On Oct 12, 2009
@spaceman,
The Isreali network channel is not encripted. It is only on mpeg4.

@badaru.
I hail o! I think the problem is location because I remember our guys in Ghana like captainus, salamander, etc saying they nailed it on 90cm dish in the north.
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by Emeritus153: 8:25pm On Oct 12, 2009
@spaceman, a beg no forget the new feed on w3a that u said u will give out. A dey wait o
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by GeorgeD1(m): 8:27pm On Oct 12, 2009
@Paps1,
It appears the dftv guys are just another set of FTA installers. Any serious enthusiast in this forum will not need their services. Don't be carried away with thier 75 channels claim as you can get even more than that with your 3-in-1 lnb combo motorized. Personally I've lost count of the number of channels I'm recieing on my own motorized but I can confidently tell you I'm hitting more than 750! smiley

@ Moderator: Be like say i miss ur buffday cake Prayer never late sha. May you continue to flourish like an Igi Ogede planted close to a river.

@ Borderline: I hail o! Your contact method is not listed in your profile. I would please like you to shed more light on the 1.8 pan Nilesat installation of your friend in Isolo. Thing is, I stay in Sango (slightly north of lagos as you know). I originally planned to get the daarsat package and a spare 1m dish this week, so i could have my sirus4, daarsat and multi tv on a single receiver with a diseq switch. But now that you posted a few days back about 1.8 receiving almost all channels on nilesat, i'm thinking of getting either a 1.8 pan or 2.4 pan only and hooking that up my my srt4663x. I feel that since i am closer to the footprint here than at Isolo, i should have a slightly better reception. So please, what is your opinion on the above options? Also, have you been around Alaba recently? Do you have updated prices for the 1.8m, 2.4m pan dish and the lnb required? Tanx

@ whoever: I havent run into the "Aljazera English" on sirus 4 at any time. DO they have a range of operating hours? Tanx

Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by grafikii: 10:49pm On Oct 12, 2009
don't be fooled, dftv is just a bunch of alaba boys trying to be smart, they are just mere installers, they do not have rights or equipments for anything.I know this guys well

@litaninja
i av been followin d developments frm dat end & i'm afraid,it is not a good news,d vertical pol.channels he got at first av since collapsd 2 38%red & while tryin 2 see if he could jack up d signal a litle by adjustin d lnb,he ended up losing more signal of d other ku channels.He has since dropd nile signal & has concentratd on d more footprint-friendly channel on 1.8m,BOTTOM LINE,4get 1.8m for nile cos it wil eventualy fail 2 stand,go 4 a bigger dish like 3m or 2.6m, ALJAZEERA ENGLISH is no longer on dat bird(ew3a not sirius4 in d first place) .Finally dis is my private contact. 08139223720 available at non-official hours, how is dat road leadin up 2 sango?,i suppose fashola &gbenga av done sth on it

@all new channel on NSS5 57E 3931 H 2893
LYNGSAT call ìt ETV 2(ETHIOPIA) but on viewin d channel i found out dat it was d same program as d old ETV ETHIOPIA (which lyngsat now refers 2 as ETV 1) only dat 1 has better picture quality dan 2. i hope they are not just there 2 make up numbers

Can u tell me how i can know fake or pirated receiver (STR 4663X), what are the things to watchout for to know the original.

Kindly do this research and reply, cos of majority of us who fall prey to these inferior receivers.

@ Dejsam
@ George_D

Where can i get LNBs bracket? I was told that Dejsam can help me arrange for one, N cant i get one at Oshiodi?

Thank u all.
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by Dejsam(m): 12:04pm On Oct 13, 2009
@jayron,

just a look on the receiver ,u know if its fake or original.it all depends on how familiar u are with strong receivers.but one major feature u look out for is the ISBN behind the receiver and the finishing of the receiver itself.then take a look at the panel inside of it,u will see that the cloned one has a much more green colour than the original strong panel.

just be very careful sha

@BADARU1,
thanks for your response

@ALL,
i dont think we should bother ourselves about DFTV. they are installers making wild claims. what they  are peddling is what we get here for free. their small dish is aligned on intelsat7/10 . their big dishes are motorised, so what are we talking about?

@DEJSAM
welldone oooooooooo
