@ Solo1ng1 Hi, long time, have u done it. |
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by GeorgeD1(m): 3:14pm On Oct 13, 2009 |
@jayron, I think Dejsam has already replied you concerning the fake STRONG recievers. In addition, always look out for the 'made in china' logo as the fake ones don't carry any logo at all. Also, try and buy only from accredited MYTV dealers. Even if you won't use the reciever for mytv, you can be sure that what you're buying is the original product. As for the lnb brackets, I advise to llok up Dejsam's phone on his profile and call him. Discussing one on one with him will help you arrive at a much faster landing than posting your queries to him online. |

@BUTONEDAY, Bros, I think you can get those stuff from any reliable dstv shop. Try that one by airport road after total filling station coming from Edjeba. |

@butoneday those DFTV guys have been arround for a long time. i did not notice anything new coming from them, i personally do not think that they are very serious people, as they understimate the level of satellite knowledge out there right now. regarding the search for a long range video sender, good luck with that. i don find tire. i had to settle for the old school short range video sender which is just able to cover a couple of houses arround me in the close. am still on a lookout for it. if you get, just let me know. @all for anyone that's been trying to reach me on my line, My phone was stolen at a wedding on saturday and recovery is not till friday. you can call me on 8738991 till then. |
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by litaninja(m): 8:05pm On Oct 13, 2009 |
@ Butoneday & Olofofo: Regarding the long range video sender, according to FCC regulations, you are not allowed to transmit radio over either 100m / 300m without a license. I think the solution is to get a short range one and modify it yourself to transmit at a higher power or something. Good luck with that. @ Borderline: hm, i guess you are quite right about the 1.8m. But can you consider one or 2 points for me. Like, I plan the installation in Sango instead of lagos. Then also Adewest also mentioned Nilesat on 1.8m in Ikeja, Lagos that gave very impressive results. What of the LNB? Could i get a better LNB than the one your friend used? Then finally, i could get a 2.4m pan instead. I think this would get me slightly better results and the price is quite within range. What do you think? |

@ Olofofo, What is the cost of your short range video sender? How far can it be received? Is it AV or UHF? |
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by olofofo(m): 7:46am On Oct 14, 2009 |
BUTONEDAY: UHF, maybe 10-20m. |
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by spaceman(m): 9:38am On Oct 14, 2009 |
@all This is the TP I promised on Tandberge service-W3A. 11184H/05703 is what my Strong Dx showed me. However, u have to blind scan by weekend afternoon to see what comes up, the symbol rate may not be exactly what is being transmitted. Could be slightly higher, because I did experienced fluctuation between 54% to 59%. I never bothered to fine tune my lnb anyway. Promise fulfilled! |
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by BUTONEDAY(m): 9:42am On Oct 14, 2009 |
olofofo: @Olofofo, Thanks. Ten to twenty meter range is too short for me. I will check the net to see if I can get a good one that can cover up to two kilos |

@Solo1ng1 This work of office thing hardly give me chance. In two weeks time, i would have done some thing. Am a bit confused, i wanted to motorise the dish but a frind of mine say if i do,i may miss part of Aljazeera sport channels. Also an installer, who i met at Oshidi told me the jack may got burnt if care is not taking. All these got me confused. Moreover, i wanted to tell Dejsam to get me LNBs brackets from his end.Had over spent, still need to wait till month end. Thank u for ur concern. |
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by jayron(m): 10:51am On Oct 14, 2009 |

Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by obijack: 11:28am On Oct 14, 2009 |
@All, Your opinion and advise is needed. I want to install a 2.4M pan dish for nilesat so that I can get the MBC channels in UAE. The catch is that there is no space in my compound for such dish size but the compund next to mine has ample space and I have reached an agreement with the son of the landlord who is in charge per say to install the dish there and give him feed so that he can use his own Strong 4653x box which was given to him by a friend to receive the signal. Also my neighbour down stairs will also be interested in getting the signal. My question is will a regular 3 way splitter be OK from the LNB to me, my friend and my neighbour as we all have our own independent receivers. Thanks. |
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by litaninja(m): 11:58am On Oct 14, 2009 |
@ Obijack: A splitter directly connected to the lnb would probably be a bad idea. Especially if you'll end up tuning channels with different polarities at the same time. What you can do is to either get a multiple output lnb. This way you can connect each receiver to the lnb directly without problems. Another solution would be to get a multi-switch and have the output ports routed accordingly to the receivers. The multi-switch would do the polarity switching for you and all receivers hooked up can work independently. |

Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by Dejsam(m): 12:25pm On Oct 14, 2009 |
@obijack, the best option for u is to get a 3 or 4 way lnb.this will solve ur problem completely. |
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by obijack: 12:38pm On Oct 14, 2009 |
@Dejsam and all, Thank you for your input. I think I will go for the multi LNB setup as it seems a lot more straight forward. The LNB I got when I bought my Daarsat has 2 output, I think though it KU but is there 3 or 4 way C-band LNB and pls. what is the cost because I want to goto that Alaba once. Omo the place is far and the road is not that good tracfic wise. Thanks again. |
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by spaceman(m): 1:23pm On Oct 14, 2009 |
zenus:Thats exactly the problem I have with one 4661x strong Dx now! Its even go to the extent of putting itself off. I know the program must have been affected. What strong make do you use? |

@jayron, I told you to call Dejsam and discuss that package with him one-on-one. It's not everything that is to be posted on the forum. Besides, Dejsam is not a dealer. He is just using his free time to assist good members get stuff that are hard to find here in the south and he does this based on personal rapport. Look up his number is his profile and call him. Just N100 phone call will achieve more than what you're doing now. |
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by GeorgeD1(m): 2:13pm On Oct 14, 2009 |
obijack: @obijack, What you need is a quatro lnb. Since you need seperate outputs for yourself and three others, use an lnb that will serve you independently. With your 2.4m pan, better to get an echosat 0.1db 4-way (quatro) lnb. If you can't get that, use a digisat 0.2db quad output instead.
