Thanks Wip7, Am 27 years now, does that mean its gona be difficult getting admission with my age? What can I do to get admission. I really want to study my dream course overseas. |
Re: North Cyprus by kheme(m): 6:12pm On Aug 29, 2011 |
@NikkyBobo: Admission is currently open in the European University of Lefke. Admission will be open until middle of September, so you can still apply and make it down here before end of October (worse case). As for your age, EUL also has same age limit for undergraduate programs. But as long as you have something to show that you've been "busy" in the last couple of years, i can talk to the university to exempt you from the age limit restriction. |

DUDE, seriously DO NOT bring the following items, * beans (there are up to 6 different types of beans here) * maggi (there's maggi here, knorr and a few other variety) * noodles. this one is optional, at your own discretion. my personal advise, leave it and use the load for other things as there's noodles here as well * beverages (there's also variety of beverages here) * DO NOT BRING cooking pot! seriously, save yourself the stress. * do not bring utensils things you CAN or SHOULD bring, * ground dry pepper (in good quantity, in case you don't like the chilly pepper here) * ukazi * dried bitter leaf, pumpkin leaf, dried ground melon, dried ground ogbono, and similar items. has to be DRIED as is, under good sun for as long as possible so that it doesn't spoil. if you can't dry it long enough, don't worry, do the much you can, SUMMER just ended here and the sun is still quite hot so a few days under Cyprus summer sun will do the work. * red oil, bring that one oh. there's variety of cooking oil here but no red oil. * stock fish. there is smoked fish here, so if you were thinking of bringing that, there's no need. * bring garri * yams and plantains * your favorite spices * hair cream, if you use. their hair is different from ours to the hair creams they use ain't exactly suitable for our. bring apple or petals or whichever is your favorite. i'm yet to find a suitable hair cream here. but as for body cream, enough dey. * if you use relaxer, carry come too i think that's all i can remember off the top of ma head (just waking up sef). but i did write a similar list on this thread if you can find the page: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-24054.96.html at the customs, tell them you're a student and you need these things where you're going, and they should let you pass. highest, you settle them between $1 to $10, as has always been my case and a few other friends. i say this cos it was my experience twice. first time coming, the fella was just removing EVERYTHING i had, big bag or pepper, garri, egusi, etc. and one of his superiors came and was like, what is this and he said, hmm, oga come see. and his superior asked me, where you dey go with all this?? i said, i'm a student, going to study in cyprus. and he was like, oh, my friend pack all these things in and let him pass, no need to open the other bags. 2nd time i passed through, just ME i was about to open and say "oya, search my things oh, find wetin una dey find" they were like, shey you be student? and i was like, yea. looked at my passport and was like, hmm, cyprus buy, oya settle us something, give you boys something. and i was like, no cash mehn lol. then he looked at how much i declared in the paper, like $3000 and he was like, see money na. and i was like, ah, i no go pay school fees again? we laughed and he told the others, oya, let cyprus boy pass, e dey go read book. i don't remember if i game em anythihng sha. but let them know you're a student, and it should be easy for you. if anything else, ask or email me |

I need help from good samarithans out there,I am a football agent in Lagos and have an invitation letter from a football club in North Cyprus through a friend of mine in Germany who is in contact with the said club. The trials is for few days and will not require transit visa since we have the docs from the clubs. My questions are: 1. How can we check into Turkish airline since the ticket was booked in Cyprus 2. What is the actual price for Lagos-Istanbul-Ercan flight ticket 3. What is the departure time 4. How much is required for BTA I will be happy to receive answers from kind hearted people out there so I don't mislead my players, ,I am in love with North Cyprus and would like few of my young players to kick start their career there as that will allow the opportunity to break into the turkish league. Please reply to : chuckcollinse@gmail.com . |
Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 1:48pm On Sep 11, 2011 |
chucky234: I will only reply on this forum and not to your email. As far as am concern and my experience in terms of immigration in both Turkey and North Cyprus, since your players are Nigerians, there is no way they can enter North Cyprus without their names with the NC immigration or valid visas. Even the trial is for one day, they will be deported with the next available flight after cheking their names are not on immigration list on No North Cyprus or transit visas on their passports. Even with either of these visa, immigration have details of people that must enter their country. Secondly, how will they pass through Nigerian immigration without visas? is possible anyway since i have visited TRNC Airport after we were called to sort some Nigerian problems while most do not have visas but to be real i do not know how does people do that. But TRNC immigration deported them asap. Answers: 1. You can check-in with the airline even if the ticket is bought from Heaven provided is real ticket and Turkish airline can access it on their system BUt the question should be will Turkish Airline carry your players without VISA? 2. Prices varies and you can not have exact price you can check online tru Turkish Airline the prices of the ticket at the scheduled departure date. 3. Departure time should be on the ticket sent to YOU, check the tickets with you 4. TRNC do not have fixed BTA provided you can cover your expenses through your stay, which the hotel and feeding expenses will be look upon. I will advise you to look very well before you and your players fall for scam, If you are bold enough to tell me the name of this your friend i will gladly tell you if is scam related or not, reason is that we have been notified by immigration office if we are aware of a man that claim to organised football trials with clubs and based in Germany and do organize trials in Georgia, Norway etc for Nigerians, the immigration already have his details and ready for any scam generated from his ends. Wish you are your players good luck. |
Re: North Cyprus by chucky234(m): 2:37pm On Sep 11, 2011 |
Thanks wip7,his name is Francis Ogette and we have sent him 100k to get the ticket with agreement to balance him once we have the ticket. Am a bit confused with the visa issue because my friend in London said you only need transit visa if you are going to TRNC to stay or study but for someone visiting, invition letter from invitee to travel provided you have people that will receive you at the airport. Secondly, what are the requirement for obtaining transit visa at turkish embassy, the cost and duration of processing it. Thank you very much as I look to favourable response you guys. |
Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 4:13pm On Sep 11, 2011 |
chucky234: Alright i am sure the name you gave is among those names from immigration house TRNC into trial sport stuffs and most of them claim to be member of YSFON. Since you said he is your friend you should know him very well then, you will be able to know if he is real or not as both of you guys are friends and am sure you must have been working with him for quite some years now. Naturally one way ticket to TRNC is almost 200K pa head. my major concern now is that, how will your player enter TRNC without VISA? For studies purpose, the students will need transit visa, for tourism: tourist visa also needed. For trial or invitation one of these visas also needed or your players name already approve and accepted by the immigration personnel at TRNC Airport. Just confirm from your friend that sent you the docs from the clubs in TRNC if the player names are already at TRNC airport, is the club a big club and registered with TRNC government? Becos TRNC immigration only recognized registered entity and is only such entity that can bring in people into the country. Also, must staffs of Turkish Airlines/NAACO at Lagos always requested for return tickets for them to allow passenger especially first time travelers to TRNC, so your players might need return tickets. Finally, what is the aim of the trial? to just play for 3days and come back to Nigeria or want to run away or live illegally in TRNC? am sure you know the consequences of living illegal or no man island? Just ask your friends those questions and if everything goes well with you , then you can send your players. Wish you guys good luck. |

You guys rock,I really appreciate the advice I have received so far. I went back to crosscheck the docs I received from my friend, one of them was issued by the CYPRUS TURKISH FOOTBALL FEDERATION on their official letterhead with phone and fax numbers, email and the website: www.ktff.net The letter of invitation was issued by: Turk Ocagi Limosal Spor Kulubu and signed by the club president. The. Third doc was issue by the police, the photocopy was sent to me as my friend said the original copy will be sent to the Ercan airport the morning of my player departure. For the ticket,we estimated 210k and I believe that can to and return ticket for Lagos-Istandaul-Ercan route, ,please confirm that for me. Thanks you all,am grateful.nks you all,am grateful. |
