andrewza: http://www.army.mil/article/107855/US_Army_Africa_exercise_Shared_Accord_13_kicks_off_this_week/

PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa (July 23, 2013) -- U.S. military forces are teaming up with South African National Defense Forces for Shared Accord 13, near Port Elizabeth, July 24-Aug. 7, 2013.

Shared Accord is an annual training exercise involving in-depth joint cohesion between U.S. and South African military forces during multiple training scenarios.

"This mission is designed to increase interoperability and build friendships with the South African Defense Force," said Maj. Chuck Slagle, executive officer for 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division.

The exercise involves many participants to include about 700 American military members from the Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force and more than 3,000South African National Defense Forces, or SANDF, members.

"Anybody can learn from anyone. We definitely learn from each other and can contribute our expertise to these exercises," said South African Military Health Services Capt. François Van Huyssteen, veterinarian with the Military Veterinary Institute.

Shared Accord 13, or SA 13, is a large-scale operation that will include multiple training missions to test the capabilities of both militaries. It will include an amphibious assault, combined live fire exercise, situational training exercises and a tactical airborne assault, which will lead into a Humanitarian Civic Action event, known as an HCA, for the South African community.

"It's great having all the Americans here," said Sgt. Maj. Andrew Stanley, watch officer for SA 13. "It shows the military capabilities and also the cooperation between the different forces."

HCA will provide health services to include dental, HIV screening and ophthalmology services, Slagle said.

Another aspect to HCA will be mobile veterinary services to include rabies vaccinations and tick treatments, Van Huyssteen said.

Through all of the exercises in SA 13, both militaries hope to improve skills while learning from one another.

"We're both here to learn," said Slagle. "The South Africans have a lot of experience and really we're just sharing. We're not training them on anything. We're improving each other through this exercise."
I sincerely think you'll need those SELEKA SPECIAL FORCES too, you know their expertise cannot be overemphasized.

You stinking and sticky pepper soup consumed nutrients could not help your brain to think clearly. There is no source in the planet earth that ever boldly reported that Seleka rebels spared the lives of 200 South African soldiers. Heaven knows that it is only half brains like Agaugust, ot even trained as journalists would fabricate lies to suit their unfounded frenzy.

Let agaugust know that he cannot change what happened in CAR by his propaganda. All his claims can all be reduced to zero because there is nothing objective from what he said. The world knows that Seleka were the first to raise the flag for cease fire. How on earth would heartless seleka rebels spared the lives of their enermy if they mercilessly killed civilians who are citizens of CAR? By the way, let us not blame a poor boy claiming to be an American because those are results of poor Nigerian education system.

Agaugust has never been to America, because what he says are just only hallucinations. He is wishing if he was somebody from the US with MBA, unfortunately he still find himself in that hole called Nigeria.
Keep fooling yourself, even SAengine has admitted that Seleka rebels returned a captured SANDF soldier. And please don't get too emotional over this na, abeg, dis wan wey u dey so interested for Agaugust identity. Na wah o!

There were any SA soldiers captured in CAR, those were just attempts by Seleka rebels to score cheap points by painting lies. Whether saengine admitted to it or not it is still lies

There was one soldier captured. He was returned back to the base after the cease fire.

dont change story now mister ! you are the one that said seleka was heavily armed, and i asked you to show us seleka's weapons used against south african army and you replied by posting photos to prove seleka used truck mounted mobile double barrel anti-aircraft guns, truck mounted mobile 105mm bazooka anti-tank armour rockets and truck mounted GPMG machine guns and you said seleka has 2,500 to 3,000 men in the attack force.

now after battlefield simulations proved you could not have used your 200 man force to kill 800 of seleka men who are so heavily armed, you change story again and said seleka used only small arms (AK-47 rifles) and RPG to attack south african army.

you b.looody liar ! seleka does not need to climb your walls to hit target, their 107mm bazooka rockets is anti-armour and it will tear down a huge gateway on all the four corners of the south african base wall, or the wall is not made of cement again ? it is nuclear proof bunker like that of saddam hussein ? grin grin

okay you admit seleka climbed over the wall to attack south african army inside your base.

andrewza:

Seleka never over ran our base. So you talking out your ass. I siad they would not let's us fly in our renforments in to CAR.

now you deny again and defeat yourself saying seleka did not overrun south african base, but you just said in the previous post above that they climbed over your wall and used AK-47 and RPG....

seleka were more than you in number and had entered your base climbing over the wall to start hand to had combat...no army survives that easily talk less of b.utchering an enemy force that is ten times more in number.

south african army was trapped in their base, surrounded outside, penetrated inside...outnumbered 10 men against one...outgunned with heavy calibre cannon and rockets....then south african army did surrender and beg for their lives to be spared and safe passage to the airport for french army protection.

you did not kill any 800 rebels, its impossible in that heavily odd trap your army was locked into. hand to hand combat inside your base is the type of craaaaazy battle where the best soldiers in the world get k.illed by the poorest trained soldiers int he world.

bullets through windows, enemy behind the door. assault rifle fire from a man hiding just around the corner. snipers on top of a tree. these are common rebel tactics worldwide.

ask liberian/sierra leonean rebels, congo DRC rebels and dafur supporter of APC local militia what they usually do to any 'civilian' woman trapped and captured in their battle zone...dont ask me o ! i am under age 18 years grin

saengine:

Susette Gates is a civilian. Civilians working for the SANDF do not wear uniform. If she was able to convince Seleka not to search her bag carrying R3 million (a lifetime fortune in CAR).....what other lies do you think she told them to let her go? She could have said anything......claimed to be U.S citizen etc etc. Point is, in the eyes of Seleka she was not a captured combatant. The one SA soldier who was captured by Seleka was returned to our base.

rebels ruling a whole country are not fools. they would ask for her ID or travel passport, if not, they will search her down to her p.anties to prove her true identity. they know some south africans are white, and what the h.ell will an american citizen be doing in a french speaking country inside the rebel controlled zone and battlefield ?

seleka let her go because there was a deal to spare south african army and not w.ipe them out.

same reason the captured south african soldier was released according to your post...why would seleka let a south africa soldier go free after he helped to b.utcher 800 of the seleka's colleagues ?

why would a south african soldier be in seleka captivity if he did not surrender to them ?

rebels dont respect civilians of their own tribe, enemy is enemy, why should the respect a south africa army woman because she wore civilian clothes ? you think rebels are fools ? if they are fools then south african army will still be in CAR today. they gave you a smart brilliant shocker for history to be told to your grandchildren in soweto.

chris365: guys please don't mind me derailing for few minutes.

between event management and decoration, and interior decoration. which is better, more lucrative and poses less challenges for someone that wants to shift career.

please anyone with an idea should answer. don't mind the derailing, it's for few minutes

okay a brief diversion is okay to share info.

i had some ex-gir*fr***ds in lagos those days who did all the 3. what they told me then was this :

interior decor could get you 200k in one deal

events management could get you 100k in one deal

events decoration could get you 30k in one deal

there are more decoration jobs in town, next is management jobs, but interior jobs are scarce and need lots of man know man connections.

all the 3 require networking and man know man.

if connections are weak, jobs hardly come for many months. if connections are strong, jobs can come every month. the upper middle class is the best target client base.

some people prefer catering/cooking food for parties because even the lower class are a client base.

thats the little i know from those people who have practiced the 3 lines of business for several years. thanks

Did you pass comprension at school. I siade the base was defened by small arms and RPG7s. Has in that what SA had. This was because the support wepaons were with the para company a few killometers out side the base. The base when it came under attack was defened by the SF task force and support personal. The SF had expened there support wepaon ammo at the battel at the bridge and out skirts of town. All of this was docmented by the way and by both sides.

Seleka had heavy fire power yet we still killed so many because our solders were better trained.
