an angry south african air force paratrooper jumped out of the aircraft as usual. he hates the company that manufactured his parachute.

this time he takes a knife and cuts off the paratchute bag on his way falling down from 2,000 feet high altitude in the sky.

he says to himself...."nonsense parachute manufacturer i hate that company, now i have cut off this parachute from my back and wasted it. when i return to base down below, i will tell the commandant that my parachute did not work at all, that's why i came down from 2,000 feet and landed on my own head."

(Reuters) - Nigeria's navy has installed eight automated, camera-equipped surveillance towers in the waters just off its coast, in an effort to tackle a surge in pirate attacks and crude oil theft that have blighted Africa's top energy producer this year.

Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba told journalists late on Thursday that the equipment, most of it from Japan's Furuno and costing roughly $12 million in total, had high-frequency radio and long-range cameras able to spot ships up to 48 km (30 miles) away.

All South African satellites are less than 100Kg, unlike Nigeria's satellites which are almost the size of locomotive. The US has ceised long ago manufacturing such giant satellites which are very slow to operate.

You really like to lie and twist issues just to prove nothing this was a Nigerian first.

By the way that ship docked in SA and refuelled, stop lying here you fraud aka I live and work in the US.

SA warships including its research ships has done far bigger things then the NNS Thunder could dream of we've been to Antarctica and our navy has even rescued people 10000nm away from home before.

Naai-geria doesnt even have a single research ship that can even sail to Antarctica nor does it have a single research facility outside of that sh.itholes waters.

Your country is pathetic yet it wants to claim sh..it here

show me the south african navy warship that can travel from Cape Town to Alaska U.S.A without stopping to refuel on the way angry

only nigerian navy NNS Thunder has travelled from Alaska U.S.A to Africa without refueling along the voyage, only nigerian navy has that type of blue water warship in the whole of Africa.

Im glade you admitted your drone is still years behind SA's. Now go to your uk university and thank them for your latest 50/50 parnership drone that you claim is world class(my.ass.)

Gulma drone made in nigeria, is the first and only drone in the world made 100% by black people in a black nation.

you are a black man, better you pick up your south afriacn village native drum and beat it aloud while you dance, you cannot change your skin colour.

Mr Mark Owen Woyongo,
Minister of Defence, has lauded
the Ghana Navy for its
meritorious work which had led
to it being adjudged the Best
Performing Navy in West Africa
for 2013 by the Security Watch
Africa Magazine.

He said the Ghanaian coast had
become an island of stability in
the turbulent Gulf of Guinea
maritime domain which had
earned it the respect of all
interested in maritime issues.
Mr Woyongo said this on Friday
during a sod-cutting ceremony
for the construction of phase
two of the Naval Headquarters.
The project, when completed, would
have a Command Block,
Administration Block, Operations and
Supply Block, a Library, a Technical
Office, a Museum, Conference
Rooms, Cafeteria and other ancillary
facilities.

He commended the Navy for the
arrest of MV Mustard which was
found to have been used to siphon
fuel off MV Cotton, a ship that had
been hijacked off the coast of Gabon,
and another ship which was found to
contain over 400 kilogrammes of
cocaine.

He added that due to diligent work
by the Ghana Navy, the coast of
Ghana had not witnessed a single
pirate attack throughout the year
making the country a safe haven for
ships waiting to go to ports in
neighbouring countries.

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Rear
Admiral Geoffrey Mawuli Biekro, said
a blue-print for the construction of a
new office complex was produced in
1996.

He expressed appreciation to private
organisations and individuals for
coming to the aid of the Ghana Navy
by helping them with funds and
building materials to now continue
with the construction of the office
complex.

He said the Navy recognised the
heavy responsibility upon its
shoulders and the expectations of the
country and pledged their readiness
to ensure safety and security of all
vital national assets at sea.

He commended Government for its
commitment to the Navy despite
limited resources, citing the
acquisition of ships in recent years,
the upgrading of the Navy’s
workshop at Sekondi and other
planned acquisitions that had
received the Government’s approval.

The Nigerian Navy says it is planning a joint naval exercise between
countries within the Gulf of Guinea for the first quarter of 2014.
The Chief of Plans, Naval Headquarters,Rear Admiral Emmanuel
Ogbor told newsmen that the exercise would kickstart a diplomatic
visit of Nigerian Navy warships to countries within the West African
Coast.
“The Nigerian Navy ships will from 2014 commence their diplomatic
duties by conducting flag showing exercises within West Africa”.
Admiral Ogbor made this statement during the return of the
Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS THUNDER, from a four months
trip to Australia after taking part in an international fleet review.
He said that the force remained
overjoyed that the vessel was able to
travel to Australia, representing the
country in an international sea exercise. He said that the trip made
by Thunder, was in line with the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral
Dele Ezeoba’ s Strategic Guidance 01 which is to ensure that the
force’s traditional and diplomatic roles
are fulfilled.
“We have just spoken about Strategic
Guidance 01 and Strategic Guidance 02 is out. In this, it stipulates
that all the country that we have not visited for a while,we will
begin to visit them in 2014.
Also we are planning a joint exercise between Cameroon, Nigeria,
Togo and Ghana. The first planning meeting for the exercise took
place at the Naval Headquarters and it is going to reassure the
nation that Nigeria has a navy that they can be proud of,” he
stated.
Fighting piracy
Rear Admiral Ogbor said that the
Nigerian Navy is committed to fighting piracy within the country’s
territorial waters, stressing that the force will continue to put its
vessels at sea to police the territorial waters to rid it of criminals.

That man is smoking from the pipe. I was actually refering to hundreds of CC's and Pty Ltd's which were established as a result of BEE. Those are ofcourse, not informal sector since those companies are registered and pay tax wherever is possible.

you got it wrong dude, nigerian satellites DONT NEED the south african gateway to work in other regions, that gateway said to likely be in your country has servers that serve your region only, if we shut it down, south africa will go into 'telecommunications black-out' until we switch it on again cheesy

south africa has NO telecoms satellite of her own, you depend on nigeria to keep your country linked to the outside world.

nigeria can throw south africa back to telecoms stone-age if we want, and sure we can listed listen to some of your military communications in secret by 'spying/bugging' your communications, decoding your military, political, and economic messages as they transmit through nigerian satellite relays ...

south africa, nigeria is holdling you by your two egg-shaped balls....we can squeeze it tomorrow....and you will cry out for your mummy cheesy

Nigeria's National Space Research & Development Agency (NASRDA) launched its first orbiter, NigeriaSat-1, in 2003. The roughly $13 million cost was paid for by the Nigerian
government, but it was built by Surrey
Space Technology (SST) in the UK and
launched from a Russian spaceport.
The spacecraft was equipped with high-
resolution optical and infrared cameras.
"They are there to look at agriculture
production, improving food security,"

The satellite was also designed for environmental monitoring, such as tracking desertification and even locust swarms.

^^^It has no military value... But here is something to be proud of ......

»:

In 2005 NigeriaSat-1 was the first
satellite to send back pictures of the
east coast of the US following
Hurricane Katrina
. And the
orbiter contributed images to aid
workers following the 2004 Indian
Ocean tsunami. Nigeria provides
disaster-related imagery for free, but
the country generates income from the
satellites by selling other image data.
NASRDA also commissioned a Chinese-
built communications satellite,
NigComSat-1, that launched from China
in 2007. The satellite lost power a year
later and was replaced in 2011 by
NigComSat-1R, which is currently
providing broadcast and internet
services in Nigeria
.

^^^The thing about one of the gateways located in South Africa is true. So as things stand now, broadcast and internet services from the nigerian satellite does not extend beyond Nigeria.
