The recent Local Government Election in Akwa Ibom State that was conducted yesterday 2nd December, 2017, went smoothly as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has cleared all 31 local government areas in the state living APC and other parties with nothing. A letter released by Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission, AKISIEC, affirming the results earlier declared by the authorized Returning Officers in various locations. Both PDP Chairmanship candidates in the 31 local government areas and Councillorship candidates in 329 wards all won the election. AKISIEC, has directed all winners to report and receive their Certificates of Return on Monday, December, 4th. The result of the election is a clear indication that governor Udom Emmanuel will have no strong interference in his bid for second term.
