IkpuMmadu: I get ur point, but do u think Nigerian govt will adhere to that? even Jewish shipping don't go close to international waters near Iran, they will site security reasons as excuse and nobody will do Jack. gone are the days when the UN and foreign powers interfere in people's matters, these days, they will only issue statements. 1 Like |

IkpuMmadu:Don't underestimate Nigeria, you will not know what they are capable of except they are pushed to the wall. Nigeria is a major player in Africa so in international events, nothing goes without mentioning them.As for Iran, they are sponsored by terrorist. |

VicThory:....Nigeria is a big country and I am not underestimating it. Just that the international would step in like they did in Suez canal in Egypt |
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by ifyboy60(m): 6:53pm On Jun 01, 2019 |
IkpuMmadu: the reason they stepped into the Suez canal issue was simply because there own shipping lines were massively affected and the British themselves built it. Secondly it was blocking Israel a key western ally and one who weighs significant soft power over the west. Most westerners know nothing about Biafra, many even careless about Nigeria sef. |

IkpuMmadu:You need to understand that the Danube international law is only applicable to countries that signed it and it is restricted to the use of the river and it is non binding internationally as against the United Nations defined definition of territorial waters. The Lake Chad basin agreement was signed by Nigeria and other countries concerned and it is never binding on other countries not concerned in Europe, Asia or even in West Africa just as the Danube international law doesn't concern us. It is that of The UN that binds all signatories all over the world and not regional pacts. |

The ANSG doesnt know how to do waste management. No science whatsoever or planning. Yet its not that difficult. The strategy of placing bins on the side of roads is primitive and has failed. What should happen is the state should levy all multi-tenant and commercial buildings and then use that waste revenue to pay any private operators that deliver waste to a large designated waste depot based on price per kilo. At the depot there should be premium paid for pre-sorted plastic, paper and aluminium waste which can be sold to recycling entities. For organic waste they should compost it and sell it on as fertilizer, others they can either burn or generate methane gas to run power for street lights This kind of strategy will create SMEs in the waste business who assured of steady income would go round residential and commercial buildings to collect waste. It will also free up streets from the ugly receptacles with overflowing garbage that attracts rats. Buildings should be levied waste fees based on estimated amount of garbage produced (in kilos). A 6 flat building generates roughly 60 kilos of garbage per week or 3 tonnes of garbage in a year. If the state levies each flat 1,000 per month then that is 25 naira per kilo of waste. If it pays a waste company to deliver to its depot at 15 naira per kilo then every week an entrepreneur collecting waste from 10 buildings using a keke pickup can be paid around 9,000 naira. The entrepreneur can be paid a higher amount by sorting out plastic, paper and aluminium. With this strategy waste will be cleared far more quickly from buildings than the present system. For markets, waste companies should bid with the state to evacuate waste to depots. Unbiased1: |

Yyeske: We also have UN LAWS governing international waterways and navigation...you can google it or ask a maritime lawyer Customary international law arises from the practices of nations when those practices are undertaken out of a sense of legal obligation (called the opinio juris ). The resulting law is highly decentralized and institutionally undeveloped, similar to the customary law found among subsistence farmers or nomadic tribesmen. In order to make the evolution of customary international law clear, consider this analogy. Suppose there is a field between two villages, with no road across the field. People initially will tend to wander at will from one village to the next. Gradually, most people will follow a particular line, perhaps the shortest route, or perhaps the easiest route, or perhaps the route most convenient to the heaviest walkers—walkers whose tread wears a path more decisively into the landscape. For whatever reason, a definite path will emerge, and gradually it will become a road. Eventually, all will agree that this road is the only right way to travel from village to village, even though no one can say precisely when this notion took hold. At that point, people will object to others as trespassers if the others choose a different path—by which time a legal norm exists and not merely a factual description of a path. IkpuMmadu: u Biafra supporters are too emotional to reason logically. Always thinking things will go the way u wish. In order to wage war, nations must assess the probability of victory. As Sun Tzu said, the war is the vital road to victory or ruin and you must know yourself and know your enemy before waging war. U guys should access the probability that things will go in ur favor and stop wishful thinking. |

IkpuMmadu: I don't dispute the fact that the laws u quoted are correct, am telling u that nobody will enforce it, unless their interests are served. Gone are the days when countries act in foreign nations, they can only issue statements to condemn, that's all. Russians are fighting in Syria, Maduro is killing his people, Saudi Arabia killed Kashogi and the west only condemned it. If we are preparing for Biafra, it will be stupid to depend on international laws and foreign aid coz it won't materialize. Recently Netanyahu was cozing up to Buhari and seeking for a visit, the same man NK was boasting will come to his assistance militarily. It's all about interests and sentiments. |

Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Yyeske(m): 5:51pm On Jun 02, 2019 |
IkpuMmadu:Going through your links and what you've posted, it's obvious that Biafra can't enjoy free access to the sea if surrounding areas around the Atlantic remain Nigeria. Biafra would have no direct contact with the Atlantic and ships must go through Nigerian land territory before getting into Nigerian international water territory at sea. So everything would be at Nigeria's discretion to allow any other country to have passage and no country can question her decision. Stop having that vague feeling that because rivers like River Cross, River Imo and River Niger passes through Biafran land territory and all empties into the Atlantic gives Biafra a right to the sea, those rivers would pass through Nigerian land territory before emptying out into the sea. You can see that everything about Biafra must be negotiated with Nigeria to start with. |
