Eastbay:

Donkey don improve im geography.
As for Lahm, what happened when Nani was despoiling him at OT?It's either Nani is that good or Lahm is over-rated.
@jalether,
Tell me why trophies are an unfair assessment.Cus at the end of the day, that's what it's all about. To me,at least, anyway.
If it's defending we're talking,United have conceeded less than Chelsea in the past three seasons.Evra was an integral part of United's defence that period.
I think I'd like to look at it that way.

Jibril Cisse and benni mccarthy have more  UCL trophy than, the almighty, Ronaldo lima.

Similarly, Juninho Pernambucano has won more domestic trophies than Ronaldinho. would it be fair to conclude that Cisse, mccarthy and juninho

are better players than Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.

Cuz a lot of Shyte players have won trophies i.e Guivarc'h, Roque Junior e.t.c. Winning trophies does not necessarily make you a great player.

Lahm is just lacking some physicality. Technically he is better than Cashley and Maicon.

As for Evra, I can't mention him in the same category as the above 3 when it comes to technique.

Statistically, Cashley would have copped more assists last season if he had played the full season. He scored more goals and he was more involved in Chelsea attacking play. I had Evra in my fantasy team throughout last season and I know that 80% of his assists were from mishit shots cos I watched him closely. Cashley still copped more goals per game, and even when he didn't assist, he was always involved in the build up to 70% of Chelseas goals. That's why Ashley is more expensive than Evra in Fantasy League. . . Cos he produces more

It seems you like being wrong. and those percentages are damned lies. anyone can bring any % to the equation to make their point. I'm pretty sure I watched both players as well very closely and that 80% of his assists were misshit shot is a very embarassing lie. I mean come on. We get it you love Ashley. Keep that in your bedroom but no need to start spouting lies.

Mishit shots. grin seriously stop it now, that's just embarrassing.

how can assists be mishits grin grin

Don't shoot the messenger. How many times does Evra hit the byline but lack the composure to simply pull the ball back?

Evra is a specialist at hitting shots across the box blindly.
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by MrTA(m): 6:54pm On Sep 14, 2010
Dude, you've embarassed yourself enough. Just leave it and go.

i dont know what ure saying but almost all our counter attacking moves were thru him

Evra/Nani combo. I can agree he'll score zero in shooting at goal but to say he shoots blindly in the box is another comical line cos that means ure saying the 7 assists he has culminated in goalmouth scrambles

is that what ure saying?

Evra?

He is paying for his sins. . . .no one insults Lilian Thuram by comparing him to Malcom X and gets away with it. grin grin grin

I agree with all you said. Maicon beats them all because of his athleticism and physicality which he combines with his football sense,
Evra is just like a Taiye Taiwo who does a lot of Gra gra with little brains and Lahm is more like Celestine though with more defensive awareness.

Maicon just combines the muscle of people like Taiwo with his football sense

[flash=400,400]http://www.youtube.com/watch=/v/PbaGQDpeh0c[/flash]

Even despite his slight frame, lahm still manages to do this vs the biggest guy in the Sport.

Its not by coincidence that Lahm keeps making the team of the tournament in all major international tourneys. This must mean he is the most consistent Full back over that period
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by tkb417(m): 8:00pm On Sep 14, 2010
Evra does gra gra?
Lol

U have cataracts cos definitely, Evra doesn't play like Taiye Taiwo
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by Ibime(m): 8:28pm On Sep 14, 2010
Dayo, you may be on to something you know. Taiwo cops numerous assists from blind shots across the box as well.

^^ Typical of gra-gra players
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by MrTA(m): 9:48pm On Sep 14, 2010
Well that was an awful performance. worst of the season so far. Hopefully we improve for the liverpool match.

SAF needs to sort it out. Very sad about Valencia's injury as well. Not looking good for his season now and now we're light on players. Poor Valencia.

Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by chamotex(m): 10:07pm On Sep 14, 2010
Valencia's injury is even worse than first thought.
Fergie just said it might be a fracture which will even take longer.

Woeful performance tonight . . . One of the most boring games I've watched in a long time.
Credit to Rangers though, they played like their lives depended on it.

Not good enough.
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by Cristalz(f): 10:15pm On Sep 14, 2010
Just lame.
Wonder what SAF based his team selection on. . .there was no strategy that I could see.
They're just lucky Rangers didn't even put one past Kitkat 'cos I'm sure they woulda won if they had scored.
One point is still better than no point, on the positive side. grin

Valencia's injury is a big hit. He would've made a heavy impact against Liverpool. Guess SAF will have to ship Park in.

Park - Scholes/Giggs - Fletcher - Nani.  .  .that's what I think the MF will look like.
Park was kinda okay against Everton.
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by debosky(m): 10:22pm On Sep 14, 2010
Fergie obviously values beating Liverpool far above beating Rangers hence the odd team selection.

Again it shows how reliant Utd is on Scholes creativity. . . Fletcher and Gibson were dour all night, except for a few shooting chances by Gibson. Most of the threat came from either Valencia or Da Silva.

I hope Antonio (MJ) Valencia recovers soonest. . . .he's one of the few scumtwat players who isn't a complete muppet. grin

Park in CM ke . . . . . . Impossible.
When Fletcherino is there.
Fletch is out stalwart in big matches . . . There is no doubt in my mind he WILL start.
He's the only one that can play week-in-week-out. His tenacity is indispensable.

I've got a feeling Anderson might play alongside Scholesy and Fletch if Fergie decides to play 5 in midfield.

Yes of course . . . 3 points against Liverpool means more.

Check again.  .  .I edited.
Park - Scholes/Giggs - Fletcher - Nani.

I doubt Ando's gonna feature against 'Pool. A win is needed and the dude hasn't gotten any Prem games yet. He might be a tad rusty.

Scholes and Fletcher are guaranteed starters in CM.
Nani will start out wide with Valencia injured . . . .Park or Giggs will be the other winger . . . .I think it will be Giggs and thats why I think he was rested today.
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by Cristalz(f): 10:34pm On Sep 14, 2010
@Chamo
SAF will start one of them and sub him for the other sometime in the 2nd half.
I just hope Rooney gels better with Berba than he did with Chicharito. He was so clumsy tonight.

@Debo
Yep, Scholes is like Fab. Play maker. Makes one overlook his affinity for yellow cards.
Gibson didn't do nada till he got tired of hearing the crowd yell ''shoot!'' every time he got the ball and decided to start shooting.
Don't wanna see him start against Pool.  .  .can be on the bench.
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by MrTA(m): 10:41pm On Sep 14, 2010
Gibson should have been sold or loaned out to Stoke or Wigan instead of Cleverley.

Yes its highly doubtful and it depends if Fergie wants to play 5 in midfield.
I have no problem with Ando starting . . . he has the ebergy level to cope with pace and intensity of the game. Whether he will last the 90 minutes is another story cos that will be asking for too much.

I'm backing Fergie with the selection tonight . . . that team was good enough to beat Rangers especially at OT.
It was the players that let themselves down.

We have a squad for a reason and some of these players will have to play at some point later on in the season so why not tonight.
Smalling, Fabio, Wes, Gibson and co all need games. I would have selected them myself but they just didn't perform on the night.
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by Cristalz(f): 10:50pm On Sep 14, 2010
Mmm. . .guess you're right.
They've all got to justify their pay, after all. Coach trusted them enough to perform; can't really blame him for that.

Next worry is the back line. I know Torres is going through a dip in form, but, it only takes one game to change that.
Can't be having those silly slip-ups that happened against Everton.

I don't even trust Rio that much. We might see our favorite RB, Gary Neville. grin
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by chamotex(m): 10:57pm On Sep 14, 2010
Torres is a headache right now to be honest.
The stupid goat is off form now but he will be doing gra gra and agidi against United. grin grin

Like I told TKB on the match thread, you don't bet on United when they've got bigger fish to fry.
You only do that when it's Chelsea; same team day in, day out. grin
