You can as well go and price it there. Just kidding though. BY Mafit is actually cool. I think our oga ponpon does it for #45,000. 1 Like |

Thumbs up on the great work going on here. Two years back, I was seeking help concerning undergraduate admission into U.S schools and I was advised by Walspring and Lagosismyhome at the time(i.e @ part 10 of this thread). I was 16 then and I was seeking full-time ride scholarships as my parents aren't financially buoyant. I was told I had to score high on the SAT cos my high school GPA isn't so impressive(3.38) while my waec GPA is 3.33, unfortunately I performed poorly(1150/1600). I went on to apply in an attempt to see what could happen, I got admitted into some colleges (Elmira college, University of New Hampshire,Unity college,University of Southern Mississippi, St John's College- can't remember the rest),with insufficient scholarships. The highest fund I got was from Elmira College, a $108,000 presidential scholarship but the school was too expensive as I still had $27000+ to pay per year and I didn't have a dime. I got other minor scholarships from other schools but they were all less than $20000. I tried again last year since I learnt that SAT validity was 5 years but I kinda knew it was a futile attempt. I desire to retake the SAT but there are no funds. I am now 18 and in a Nigerian University(200L currently studying an Engineering course) and I still have desire to go through the process once more. Will it be better to count my losses and try again when I graduate(i.e MSC) or do I keep hoping a break-through would come somewhere and I'll be able to retake the SAT? Thanks for your time CC: Bigfrancis21, walspring, lagosismyhome and other well meaning nairalanders... |

I take my education in Nigeria and make sure my grades are high so you can graduate well and target funding for masters I wanted to comment on that post knowing that it's a career decision and delicate matter but we should also realize that getting funding for MSC is now getting tougher year after year even with the best of profiles. In truth, I'd have done the same when I was in 200 level. Now that I'm in 4th year, I've realized that most of the stuffs I've supposedly been taught have been s**t. Hopefully he makes the decision that's best for him and he doesn't regret. 4 Likes |

Is it possible I have a sample of your essay sent to me as I am currently applying for a scholarship/tuition waiver that demands an essay and resume. Please help me. Thank you Fikky1: Hello everyone, my visa was approved on 13th August. I should have posted this a while ago but the past weeks have been very demanding with me having to resume school with a short time to prepare. My i20 start date was 20th August. I am settling in well now and I just know I have to post my transcript here because I have also benefited from this forum. I got a denial in July but had another interview in August. I was directed to go to the window of the same VO that interviewed me previously and I was concerned why the same VO was interviewing me. She asked why I chose my course but I answered her with no confidence at all and I began to panic. she typed for a while and then said to me "oh I interviewed you the last time" I said yes and she called for an officer to redirect me to another VO. I took that as a second chance and I continued praying under my breath. I was eventually directed to a male VO. Here is the full transcript
Where are you going? I am going to ETSU for my masters in Public Administration
Why did you choose this course I chose Public Administration because I want to be able to consult for public agencies in the future
Run me through your academic background I have a bachelors in political science and I also have a certification in accounting. I am an affiliate of the association of chartered certified accountants in the United Kingdom
Did you apply to other schools apart from this one Yes. I also applied to Ohio University
What does Ohio University have in common with ETSU I am very particular about the financial emphasis of this MPA degree i want to pursue. The courses that Ohio University offered placed a high emphasis on finance just like ETSU. However, ETSU allows me to have a specific concentration in Public Financial Management
When did you get your bachelors 2016
Tell me about this certification from the UK I had always wanted to be an accountant but I also love governance. In my first year in school I also enrolled as a student of ACCA. Because of my background in political science I had to take all the exams from the beginning. I completed 14 exams alongside my bachelors programs. (I mentioned the titles of some of the exams I took). And I completed both programs at the same time
Who is Olabode (My sponsor) He is my uncle
How did you get your tuition scholarship I submitted an essay on what inspired me to study MPA
Summarize the content of your essay I had always known what i wanted to do from the beginning. when I began my first year in the university I knew I wanted to learn the financial part of governance so I also enrolled as a student accountant. I was able to complete both my degree and certification by the end of four years and this masters degree ties both fields together for me.
He approved my visa after this then asked when I had to be at school. While collecting the white paper I told him 20th and he said 'well you still have some time'. I smiled and told him to have a nice day
I am thankful to everyone that has contributed to this platform one way or the other. I also reached out to a couple of people here and they took their time to prepare me for the interview. Even though I was ill and at the hospital for about three weeks. God healed me just in time to be able to attend the interview. I apologize once again for taking so long before posting this. Thank you all

You still have about 3 years to spend in the University, who knows how difficult it'll be to get a student visa 3 years from now. If you've read visa transcripts from 2012 till now you'd have noticed the how easy it was to get a U. S student visa in 2012 compared to now. I can assure you it'll be far more difficult 3 years from now. The most important thing is not losing focus on your ongoing studies here. I know someone that was in a similar situation that skipped a semester because he was so sure he was going to travel, he ended up having an extra year. 2 Likes |

As a banker, there is PTA( personal travel allowance) and BTA(business travel allowance) the maximum bank can exchange for you is $4,000 in a quarter. Time2Smile:
There is no specific amount specified for students. You should hold an amount you are comfortable carrying and that will be sufficient for your needs. I assume you mean Personal Travel Allowance (PTA). |
