Just wondering, my hubby has to go home b'cos sadly his father RIP he died. He has booked a ticket for two weeks. I will miss him so much and I am not pregnant. I see many strong ladies whose hubbys go away for six months plus and they are pregnant. How would this make u feel? is this the norm

Go with him if u gonna miss him that much

He has to go bury his dad. Find ways to keep busy until he comes back. It's only two weeks

2 things:
Follow him down for the funeral.
Find ways to keep yourself busy.
Theres always internet and phone to use for daily catching up.

Yes it is.It is also abnormal in our culture for a six months plus pregnant daugher-in-law and all the kids to be absent from their FIL and grand dad"s Funeral.

You may not know this, but it is quite unusual in our culture (the one you keep on dissing every 5 minutes) for you & your kids not to be at your Father-in-laws burial.
I don't know what you are still doing back home in Ireland, because you should be on the next available BA flight to Lagos and arranging for caterers to cook & canopies & chairs to hire for your side. i.e your husbands friends & family.

is it with peanuts u pay ticket for a whole family?!? plus canopies, chairs, food,,,,musician etc etc

Exactly . . . .the same reason why she should not condemn men who have left their pregnant wives. No one knows the reason why & it could be because they were trying to set up something in Nigeria which will benefit the whole family.

She turned it into a Nigerian cultural thing and I told her what the Nigerian culture really is.
