there is nothing wrong in kissing in public, though my wife does not like it because she is a shy type of person, i normally give it to her at the time she least expect.
Re: Why Are Nigerians Shy About Public Kissing? by DoubleN(m): 8:47am On May 17, 2007
My people lets be sincere with ourselves. It is not a matter of loving each other or trying to be affectionate or Romantic,it is a matter of respecting our tradition and values.Kissing in public is not just our culture.if you want to show your affection, a hug, holding of hands and a simple peck is enough.Lets face it,we as Nigerians are generally conscious of what people say about us or else how many of you proclaimers of kissing in public can kiss there girlfriend in front of their mothers?

really think so? I disagree with u b'cos if u've got nothin 2 hide and u're proud of ur partner I see no reason why u should think its not worth it

well, as i see it, it all depends on the couple. times has changed we do not live in a world a little touching or holding hands are seeing as a taboo in the society. kissing in public is a way of showing how much you admire, desire and want your partner. it not only in private that you can show him or her how good you are or how good you can be but even in public. such stunts can keep a flaming relationship burning for as long as it takes.

Leave it,
Let the Married Kiss anywhere they like,
nobody will complain about that
but for the love wan titi group of lover
they should do it behind the doors,
near the wall in the dark, dark corners
behind closed doors and not in the public.

driving is not our culture - so allcars should be banned - suit is not our culture - so no more suit wearing - all should go in traditional wear - GSM phones are not in our culture - so they should be banned - Mr Biggs is not in our culture so they should all be closed down - eating fried egg is not in our culture - so it should be banned -

all hypocrites.

Some people here have started confusing Technology with Culture.
Technology is the application of scientific advances to benefit humanity

Culture on the other hand is the values, traditions, norms, customs, arts, history, folklore, and institutions that a group of people, who are unified by race, ethnicity, language, nationality, or religion, share.

Using mobile phone does not imply you are copying other peoples culture, kissing is.

we don't only do things because there's nothing wrong with it, we also should put the feelings of others into play.

i know of a guy that tried it in Nigeria and was charge for public distrubance.
But i have another idea,
those old people will really spank you without knowing who you are, if you try that
in Nigeria.

MAYBE YOU CAN TRY IT SOMETIMES SO YOU CAN TELL US WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU,

I WILL BE WAITING. An assignment for everyone!!! cool

I guess we have 2 look @ d issue of public kissing by Nigerians 4rm 2 perspectives which I still believe r inter-dependent of each other and they r no other than d issue of culture and morals. 4 pete's sake one doesn't have 2 make out wit his/her partner in public 2 prove anything or 2 exercise freedom. 2 me doing that simply implies dat we r in bondage. Bondage under the western culture. B4 we emulate everything, lets look at their society and all d ills that plague it. If we aint careful, we wuld embrace d right 2 abortions by teenagers, gay marriages, incest and many more. One shuld be proud of his culture and not be quick 2 discard it and embrace an alien one. Future generations will never 4giv us if we continue 2 embrace everything. And we shuld not confuse technological advancement as culture. Though I guess its still an individual thing.

if you are purging, after that beans or moinmoin meal you can't hold  grin

so why should kissing be held till you reach one secret place? lol, i do it but not french kissing sha.

the feelings of others, that's true. especially those whose guys/chics don't give it to them.

we don't only do things because there's nothing wrong with it, we also should put the feelings of others into play.
