omoge:

if you are purging, after that beans or moinmoin meal you can't hold grin

so why should kissing be held till you reach one secret place? lol, i do it but not french kissing sha.

the feelings of others, that's true. especially those whose guys/chics don't give it to them.

we don't only do things because there's nothing wrong with it, we also should put the feelings of others into play.
Everybody knows we all use the toilet, must one do it in a market square to prove that his digestive system is still in tip top shape?

Chineke!!!!!!!!
Omoge na me you badmouth so?
but honestly watery beans almost ruined my untanished reputation in secondary school but that's a whole 'nother thread.

Haven't you heard we don't hold hands either.
You people have to be careful o.
You can't just be kissing and showing your affections anyhow
It is frowned at in naija

To the girls,abeg don't encourage it O
If you go around holding hands and kissing Kunle,Emeka and Abdullah tongues will wag O,
people would label you a cheap girl and your talk will be all around town.

It's not just our culture to kiss in the public
you can do that outside the country may be because that's what is prevalent there
but once here it's good to respect yourself and as culture demands

some Nigerians are just pretenders and are too hardboiled to express love publicly.
One thing I'm sure of is that these people do unimaginable things behind closed doors
but soon they'll tell u that our culture frowns at "indecent" expressions of love, like
kissing in public, whats indecent about it? thats sheer hypocrisy angry
Re: Why Are Nigerians Shy About Public Kissing? by degubi(m): 1:03pm On May 18, 2007
Let us not be quick to photocopy everything we see in some cultures, it is not perculiar to our culture to be seen kissing in public, it is strictly reserved for private moments, or else why can we not imagine ourselves engaging in sexual intercourse in full view of the public, let us behave ourselves. Nigeria is a country of morals lets not destroy it by throwing caution to the wind.

Common babyosisi, where they groping themselves that bad? shocked

There is nothing wrong in showing some affection in parts of the world where it is not frowned upon. Like you mentioned earlier, it is looked at as lack of decency in Nigeria and give some jobless people opportunity to talk.

Do you kiss your husband at all in public in America?, it is allowed u know except you are both on the conservative side, which is fair enough.

Re: Why Are Nigerians Shy About Public Kissing? by zhia2000(f): 6:47pm On May 18, 2007
I think it's just part of our culture. I like it that we do not kiss in public because if we did God knows what the next stage will be. Besides we should be happy, in India Richard Gere kissed Shilpa Shetty (Famous Bollywood actress) on her cheek at a HIV/AIDS Charity event and both were charged of public indecency. Apparently it's a crime to kiss or do similar acts in public over there.

Please note I'm not criticising India's laws or culture. It's just as an example

Re: Why Are Nigerians Shy About Public Kissing? by grafikdon: 9:29pm On May 18, 2007
Some people are not very comfortable with two people kissing in public and they do not pretend, they simply find it repulsive. A lot of Naija men who don't kiss in public do it either because they are not comfortable with the act or they want to show a little dignity to people around them who may find such act repulsive, besides not kissing in public won't send the sky crashing to the ground. I don't kiss in public and probably never will because it makes me sweat profusely out of embarrassment (Actually the thought of it 'cause I have never done it) and I have to put the people around me into consideration, especially those who genuinely find such public display of affection offensive.

There are other countries, besides Nigeria, where PDAs (public displays of affection) are not accepted or practiced (for the majority). I agree with pmdaboh, however, that it would be nice if there were more restraint on the streets of the United States. Personally, I'm not a prude about it, but I would really rather just go about my business in public, wearing long dresses/skirts, oversize shirts, and not flaunt everything I have, and then save the wild, passionate side of myself for my one and only behind closed doors. Everyone does not have to see what I've got for my man.

Kissing whether public o or private o is an intro to the main course.
And with public kissing, that just signifies your expression of love no matter who is watching.
I was born a kisser. grin grin grin

Hold on nah,, make i tell you.

This cain skill eh, dey require tact most naija men don't even know dey have, as you will find more naija female kissers than naija bobos.

Some hide under culture as thier excuse for not having the "know-how".

Well, me i no go lie. A real kiss eh dey make omo body do jelly jelly.

There are many things that were not in our culture

Like woman wearing truosers and christainity not just

kissing in public. If we must do away with  with kissing

then we must do away with the others. These hypricrisy

need to stop and now. We take the one we want to take

cos it suits us and throw others away, why? Lets do away with

all of them now and see how we live in peace.

@ TOH it has aking you to make me come to my senses.
