samby38: Is Blackberry OS the only one that comes to mind when you think of an alternative to Android?! You have a lot to learn, young padawan |

4llerbuntu: Damn right. I like to experiment, myself, but there are sensible limits . Running Ubuntu on my phone is one of them If you must, scrape $150 together and buy a refurb nook color then install Ubuntu. Running this shyte on your Xperia is just sad |

@Otumfour Your vids aren't displaying here, but from your trollish/slavish history I assume your Youtube vids are either bashing the iphone or singing Samsung's praises? |

Am I the only one experiencing this, I just activated one of GLO's data plans on my Desire S and since then I've not been able to browse on it. it doesn't event show any connectivity signals on the phone (EDGE or 3G of HSDPA). When I was browsing without any data plan it worked quite well but since about Tuesday last week, no show. Funny thing about this is that a friend of mine with a GLO Modem has a similar problem, He doesn't get any network on when he plugs his modem in, but the GLO router at my office still works fine. |

texazzpete: hehehe, see ur mouth like sad, how much difference is there in my fone and nook? can u get one here? aint gonna put down 150 for the nook then anor hundred just to get it in here. not really big on the Tab craze, the ubuntu was just a proof of concept thingy wen idle Azanor: its not cos of the plan, GLO has simply gone bananas, service is spotty or absent in most places, personally i hav had to switch to Edge to get service and its still not too great. MTN not doing much better too, and frankly with my level of consumption, it will be crazy to put my money on MTN data, id be doing lite plan twice a week! |

Re: Android, Anyone? by texazzpete(m): 11:05am On Oct 03, 2011 |
4llerbuntu: Don't be silly. You won't spend more than an additional 30 - 40 bucks bringing it down. I can help you snag one if you wish. 4llerbuntu: If it's just an idle project, fine. But sometimes i worry when I see people go to the extreme. |
Re: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 11:46am On Oct 03, 2011 |
texazzpete: i can just picture you looking at the screen sadly and wondering what appened to this desperado ubuntu nut thats about30-35k hunh/. hmmmnnnn enticing lynxnoon: much better from them, tho u can trust them to be foolish. why the insistence on leaving the 1k at 100mb? do they realise only hungry smartfone users will even venture to the 1,300? most mobile plans are 1k and they have no reason to shell out more since they hardly use up the 100 sef. wen i was using my samsung dumbfone i used to have to download stuff so as to use up my 100 on deadline day. what would be really nice is data balance carryover anyways, much more diversity. has etisalat sorted out their 3G? |

texazzpete: you are too outspoken old and fidgety "padawan", you don't jump to conclusion when you read other people's opinion. that's the first lesson online newbies learn. |

Re: Android, Anyone? by texazzpete(m): 9:43am On Oct 04, 2011 |
otumfour: the only thing iOS has ever been accused of swiping from Android is the new notification system. Did you ever see a picture of how Android looked before the iPhone announcement in 2007? |
Re: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 10:04am On Oct 04, 2011 |
uchenageme: lynxnoon: i think apps2sd requires at least froyo or gingerbread? anyways u really need to move up from 2.1, im sure SE have released newer stuff for X8, even x10i is on gingerbread now. and thats if u just want to install apps on the memory card. NOTE also that the app itself must support moving to sdcard, and must not use widgets because widgets cannot be on the sd card if its that u want to extract .apks into your memory card thats anor thing entirely |
