Re: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 11:54am On Apr 19, 2012
NO.
you just open it up, apply the settings for the country/operator you want to spoof and tick the enable at boot option.

then reboot and open the market.

BTW since u say u tried the modded play apk, i take it u have removed and reinstalled the original one? how did u do it?
i ask because i just want to be sure ur doing the right thing. the market is not uninstallable unless u have root privileges and u manually delete it from the /system folder or u use a root app like TB
Re: Android, Anyone? by malikalhaj: 12:24pm On Apr 19, 2012
Very sure I did the right thing.
I used root explorer, entered systems/app removed the vending.apk then replaced it with modded market restarted my phone. (FC when downloading)
Used ritanium , uninstallsd play store installed the modded one. (FC when downloading)

When you guys talk about the modded market are you referring to the one developed by YKhandler and team? That's the one with the external handler??
Cause if you are I tried tooth and nail to get it to work- even went as far as finally using Cynagogen only because it's deodexed thinking that would make the diffrence but still got the FCs you rightly describe. Interesting but educative saga though.

I don't know why i find this funny cheesy. Android phones consume data bro, best bet is paying for a good subscription or stick to using a wifi network, if available.

DATA DATA DATA

how are u using the phone?

is facebook syncing every 10 minutes?

is twitter too?

are u using your desktop class browser to load full webpages and u think its a phone it should not take as much?

is ur gps/maps on and syncing live?

are your numerous apps that have access to the data constantly doing stuff in the background?

are u watching youtube through the app or the browser? na water e go use work?

are ur chat apps permanently on as per big boi emulating BB user?

have u heard of the application called droidwall?

have u thought of switching off autosync?

have u thought of using opera mini at times when u dont require javascript or flash?

have u thought that at times it may be prudent to switch off ur data till u need it, thereby saving data AND battery?

the OS u have with u is not symbian series 40. its a full fledged os capable of being used on a desktop pc.
do u complain like this with your desktop pc data plan?
Re: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 6:04pm On Apr 23, 2012
DATA MANAGEMENT.!

1. ROOT YOUR PHONE!
honestly, if u dont and cant root your phone, most of this tips cannot work for you. i cannot help you.
and please for the love of God STOP COMPLAINING!

2. INSTALL DROIDWALL APPLICATION
the app requires root access!

its is a firewall application. you can use it to specify which applications have access to data at any time and which do not.
frankly this is all i do this days. i choose my apps, apply the firewall and forget about the rest. no further tweaking.

i have opera mini, twitter app (i stopped using ubersocial because it tries to load adverts, and even though i have adblock on, it still tries and keeps polling the battery), whatsapp, nimbuzz and yahoo mail (configured to check for mail every 2 hours).

if and when i need to use other apps i either open the droidwall app and add it to the whitelist, or just disable the app entirely.

OTHERWISE OR IN ADDITION=

3 INSTALL ADFREE

its a ad block app, requires root.
most of the free apps you use rely on loading ads for revenue for the dev, your browser also load apps, some apps are terrible eg ubersocial.

install this and run. just like adblock on your desktop browser this saves you data and battery life too.

4. INSTALL A DATA MONITOR APPLICATION.

just so u can check how much data ur actually using. some come with a function wherein u can specify how many mb u will consume before the app cuts off your access. that way u can limit your use

5. UNINSTALL SOME APPLICATIONS.

truth be told, you really do not need some of the apps you have. neither are u in a position to actually use them unless you have access to unlimited data or a good wifi. e.g youtube app

6. DISABLE AUTO UPDATE/ DO U POSITIVELY HAVE TO UPDATE EVERY APP EVERY 2 DAYS?
Its an option in your google play/market app!! do u have to update EVERY one of your about 60 apps every 3 days when updates come out?
why not schedule those for when you get free wifi or tether to anor source of data?

7. DEBLOAT YOUR PHONE
esp users of HTC and Samsung. those custom skins are just a pain in the arse. some come with useless apps that constantly access data

8. REMOVE OR TONE DOWN THE BLING

all the fine big boi posing with your phone is hurting your pocket, yet u come here to bore us with your tripe. all those weather widgets, twitter widgets, facebook etc etc. the SPB shell 3d etc that you are using to pose to your friend and chick come at a cost.

they are guzzling your data and using your battery!
please be smart or stop boring us jare.

maybe someone can find a way to sticky this post and always refer th noobs and complainants to this when they show up. i for one am sick and tired of people who buy full specs smart phones yet complain that its using data!! is it supposed to consume air?
the new Nokia phones with the always on apps and widgets etc, dont they consume just as much? or are we to live in the world of s40 forever becase your broke ass cant afford to use a smartphone wisely.

i can run my fone on 200mb a month and still be fully functional
