I'm not surprised, she has tasted the forbidden fruit from the garden of Nigerian politics and she hungers for more. Akunyili has joined the group of 'any available party politicians' rather than follow a clear and well defined ideology. by 2015 u will hear she wants to run for vice president

ROFLMAO!!! I think it is better you not speak at all of that which you clearly have little clue of . What exactly did WikiLeak tell you of what she did, that makes it right?

Kobo, you are really a junkie. Read well before you reply miss know all. What i meant is what was happening that made her to speak up during the evil day. People where looting the treasury and she saw it and shouted for the right thing to be done.

PLS YOU PEOPLE SHOULD LEAVE DORA FOR US. "ODI ANYI MMA". "DORA BU ADA ANAMBRA". I WILL LIKE HER T BE THE GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA ONE DAY THAT IS IF SHE WILL NOT DEFECT TO PDP. BUT I CAN REMEMBER HOW SHE JOINED PDP. IT WAS OBJ THAT MADE HER TO JOIN. IT'S GOOD SHE'VE LEFT. GEJ UNDERSTOOD SO WHY WON'T YOU PEOPLE?

I HAVE COME TO UNDERSTAND THAT PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS FAST TO CRITICIZE ANY IGBO SON OR DAUGHTER THAT THEY SEE RISING. BUT WHO GOD HAVE BLESSED, NO ONE CAN CAUSE. ONE DAY, NDI IGBO WILL RISE AGAIN. SOON.

^^^ There was NO WIKILEAK exposure to vindicate her actions during the Yar adua fiasco. STOP Pretending you made any sense by claiming there was any. She did not speak up against but for exactly what the so-called CABAL, according to her, wanted.
Re: Tension Over Akunyili’s Senatorial Ambition by cjfavour(m): 4:25pm On Dec 16, 2010
Kobo, maybe you are one of those that forget easily. Dora did not speak up for the cabals. She was against them. Why did Kanti bello Lambasted her if you know what you are saying? Why did the northers lambasted her when she came to the senate to be cleared? You don't know what you are talking about. I will be expecting your apology after you must have checked all these and discovers that you are wrong.
stop destroying that woman's image.

News Flash: Dora requested we do exactly what she claimed( Remember she also told us that there existed a CABAL but she never told us the names of those in that Cabal, never) the Cabal was trying to do. Please Go back and READ THAT MEMO. I remember posting that same memo on Nairaland to get everyone to really read it to understand what exactly the woman really did say as opposed to what so many continued to claim she did instead.

Many of the PDP Northerners ACTUALLY wanted Yar adua impeached so they could have an election and install another PDP Northerner to complete the remainder of th PDP Northern zoning turn -- part of this was actually highlighted in one of the wikileaks release. A Northerner took a cloose look at the CONSTITUTION and suggedted it was the best and constitutional way forward.

READ TO SAVE Your own life please.

Sorry Kobo, you don't know what you are saying. It's like you are among those that always want to pull down any igbo man or woman that is doing well . Why are you people afraid of the Igbos? One day we shall overcome.

Typical! So telling you to go READ what she wrote, means I am uninformed? Howse about you actually READ THE DOCUMENT yourself and then come back and tell me I am wrong and SHOW ME WHERE?    wink

Here's a dare . . . I dare you to read that memo -- it's online and it is freely available for you to read it even today -- so what do you have against maybe learning something new today? I didn't write it, Dora did. So why not read it and maybe prove me wrong, if you can. Or are you afraid you will find exactly what I said you would?

I am a native of Anambra state, ( Enugu ukwu to be precise ) and i love this country too much just like you and every one else, but some thing just occurred to me this evening after going through some post on nairaland, i have found out that this country may not exist long enough if we continue in the way and manner we do things,

I am so passionate about this country and i hope to become the president of this country in the near future, and i wish to deliver a robust and result oriented exemplary leadership, but believe me, after seeing the way we Nigerians love to rubbish and pull good people down , how pensioners are been treated, how we the common masses appreciate good service, i am beginning to feel and think otherwise about my vision for this country,

Let me start by saying that the attitude of Yorubas in this country is quite sickening, disappointing, backward and silly, right from the days of Awolowo, yorubas have always shown this pathological hatred, ill will and envy for Igbos, there problem is insecurity, they know that they are naturally no match for Igbos and the only way to get back is through envy , betrayal, backstabbing and ill will, i personally blame zik for his inability to understand that on time and ojukwu for his In ability to successfully secede igbos from this useless entity called Nigeria,

prof Dora akunyili is by all standard the greatest woman this country ever produced, who else will fit into that crown if not one selfless woman who risked her life and that of her family in her days as NAFDAC boss, fighting and destroying hundreds of billion naira illegal drugs owned by her own people, who else if not one courageous woman who risked every thing and presented her memo during the days of the notorious cabals, Etc,

Today she has joined politics and some petty minded people ( mostly yorubas) are on this forum trying to rubbish her and her legacies for no other reason other than
tribalism, envy, ill will and unspoken evil scheme by yorubas to rubbish any thing Igbo from national lime light, if she is from Oyo or Ogun state , by now most of this same people will be here praising her.

if you think i am just high or drunk this night by writing this, go through all the post made about Dora akunyili, and you will see that all most all her critiques are yorubas, there problem with her is what one cant explain, they have no rational case against her, just envy and some silly emotional problem, they have not been able to point out one wrong thing she did , just silly talks,

Top on this childish and ridiculous scheme is the jobless girl called KOBOJUNKIE, she has spent all her time here trying to rubish Dora Akunyili, a woman who is far more accomplished than KOBOJUNKIE's entire family, she hides her real problem with Dora under the cover of national interest and patriotism, but this was the same kobojunkie who came here defending Pastor E.A Adeboye, a criminal who hides his criminality under the cover of a man of God, a man who deceives and exploits poor , desperate and gullible Nigerians,a man who used billions of naira he fleeced from poor and down trodden Nigerians to buy private jet, to a jobless girl like Kobojunkie, such a man is a good Nigerian and a woman like Dora akunyili who sacrificed so much for this country is bad,

you guys should growm up, this is 21st century , envy, ill will and hatred for a particular tribe is some thing best practiced during the days of awolowo, not in our time,

But any one who has a genuine case against her should please come here let us debate it.

Dora is a cri^minal. Why is it now she is defecting when its just few months for her tenure as a minister to elapse. Y dint she defect years back& build her political network for APGA.She wants 2 reap where she didnt sow.If she was a political gladiator why not stick with PDP & contest the election. She knew she would loose.

She is into this with GEJ. Jonathan might not be as dumb as people think. He is scheming to have his own people in the senate . I think we should all gear up for the 1st female senate president because madam will dump APGA as soon as she wins d election.

Your problem is that you are daft, narrow and shallow in reasoning and hopelessly blinded and limited by tribalism and stupidity you inherited from your backward parents and tribe's men like Awolowo,

Dora leaving Information ministry and defecting to APGA and Staying as information minister and get another executive appointment next year, which one do you think is easier and faster for her ?

what she did is what is called bold step, she resigned her appointment and she is taking a risk to contest for a senatorial seat, something on heard of any Nigerian female public servant, she still remains the greatest woman this country ever produced.

WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY IS SHE JOINING APGA, WHY NOT CONTEST ON HER OWN STRENGTH AND 'POPULARITY' WITH THE PDP PARTTY?

AFTERALL SOLUDO DID EXACTLY THAT
Re: Tension Over Akunyili’s Senatorial Ambition by Kobojunkie: 7:46pm On Dec 17, 2010
Soludo did it and failed. Also, She probably knows that the only way she can get the vote in Anambra is to run on the APGA ticket and not the PDP ticket. APGA controls the vote down there, not PDP.

Yes o, atleast he failed honourably, he didn't abandon ship even though he is 'popular' with all the usual PhDs they carry for head like say na only dem dey go school

Why is she and her supporters suddenly expecting her to get and easy ride afterall they accuse other people doing this of chop chop politics, she is still in good terms with the PDP so why cant she test her popularity at the polls with the ruling party

I know ministers don't really influence bills but she has been unable to push for anything concentrate just blab all over the place and shed tears chasing shadows in the name of casper cabals

It also baffle me how people can be so blinded by ethnic hate to justify promotion of failure simply because she happens to belong their side of the ethnic divide.

Now, I am not certain she is in good terms with those in PDP because I believe probably the only reason she was allowed in Jonathan's cabinet was cause of her game on the Nigerian people that worked in his favor earlier this year(thanks to the gullibility of Nigerians who are slow to investigate issues even when their lives and futures depend on it). If you remember, there were rumors that she did go to see IBB, and I believe Obasanjo(our newspapers reported on this),so she could come back in the new cabinet.

I mean this is the same woman that insulted the likes of Aondoakka, Adedibu, Soludo, etc. I really really do not think those guys, who are/were pdp big names are sitting back, loving this woman at all.

Let us assume for a second that Dora AKunyili defected to ACN instead of APGA, I can assure you that 95% of her critics here would be singing her praises to high heavens.  undecided undecided

Her only crime is that she chose to return to her true political base, the only base that can support her and allow her to speak her mind when she gets to the national assembly.
She is the brave type and I can imagine how difficult it must have been for her to not speak her mind all these while. Senate is the perfect ground for her to show her true mettle and learn practical politics in preparation for one day when she runs for an executive office -Governor or President.

Actually if she defected to ACN in that state then perhaps i might consider her brave (still don't make sense though)
BUT SHE IS JOINING A WINNING PARTY WITH ESTABLISHED POLITICAL SUPPORT AND STRUCTURE!!!

nahhhhhhhhhh brave people don't have a problem speaking their mind, she is certainly not brave just a follow the crowd hear her own voice kind of person!!

The fact that she is willing to contest against long established PDP senator like Senator Annie Okonkwo shows that she is really courageous. She may also have to contest against Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige -the Onwa of Anambra state- contesting under ACN (I think he should leave that party undecided).

Re: Tension Over Akunyili’s Senatorial Ambition by rhymz(m): 11:02am On Dec 18, 2010
Unfortunately, but obviously very true from the goings-on here, a majority of Dora Bashers are non-igbos, I might sound a bit tribalistic with this submission but a careful and unbiased observation will show anyone here the smokescreen behind all the heated attacks on the woman, it pure, unadulterated and subtle tribalism. How many times do you see these same people scrutinize Segun Adeniyi like they always do with Dora, I mean it can be argued in thesame breath that he played an ignoble role in the Yardy dead-or-alive Saga. But when it comes to Dora Akunyili, you see these haters lose all form of good judgemental abilities and begin to awash their own taste with bile and throw temper tantrums like kids whose candies were snatched by Dora.
I ve said it over and over again, Dora Akunyili has the temperament that is needed to be a leader, brave, fearless and passionate about her convictions. She may not have been great as an Information Minister but she was not a flop either, if not she would ve been relieved of her duties. Facts! Facts! Facts! Those are what are demanded of her bashers. She did her job to the best of her knowledge and never did anything contrary to the demands of her job. Somebody's perception of what her actions or in-actions could ve been is not a fact, neither are the delusional rants of a junkie any fact. You can't accuse her of dereliction of duty, all these stories of her being this & that have no factual basis, just some perceptions of some writers who do not like her and have never been anywhere close to serving in government, ask Segun Adeniyi, he knows this, lol. He used to criticize everything government until Yardy made him his spokes man and he was in the hot seat and felt the sting and bitterness of his own medicine. Since after Yardy, the young man has moved on to another thing different from writing against the goverment on the pages of thisday newspaper.
Moral of this whole thing is that it is easy to stay outside and talk shit about the inside but opinion changes when you are inside and the others are now talking shit about the inside. People should learn to be moderate with their criticisms and criticize in line with what is obtainable and possible in the political clime they are talking about. You can't be an idealist and want to be in politics, I mean anywhere. Dimeji Bankole understands my point very well, I believe. Until you have gone there and come out, you will never argue like a realist, am sure if Segun Adeniyi had not sat on the hot seat, he would ve been of the first to tell us how Dora Akunyili should have performed her job excelently well or how much of a flop she is. . .lol. . People and their insatiably complex demands, nobody will do anything listening to everybody, that is a fact jare!

She did not really live in Aba or if she did, she only stayed there as a child. Her knowledge of the terrain once came under scrutiny and she fell like a pack of cards. She is between 47 and 52 years (as deduced from her comments), but goes about ROFLAMAOing, ranting like a juvenile, arguing blindly, supporting her arguments with pretexts of being in a situation related to the case in discussion and generally making zilch points.

As for those people deriding Dora for changing to APGA and not sticking to PDP to contest; where do you stand ? Most, if not all of those people have have expressed their dislike for PDP at one time or the other but still want to castigate someone for leaving the party, just because they hold a phantom beef against that person.
