Juliearth: Hmmm...anyone here to corroborate this before I switch my salary account? Or do we just have a clandestine UBA staff here? Anyway I always transfer my salary from GTB to UBA once it enters, to encourage savings, cos my GTB account is tied to so many shopping platforms... |

dicksonadams: Same thing happened to one of my accounts, in the process of sorting it out with UBA. About 61k in total removed through my Gtb and UBA. Same style, otp was disabled but transaction was traced to a loan payment for branch. I strongly suspect insiders as I am not one to be phished or give out my banking details anyhow. |

The only way to know who might have done this is for the Op to tell us if he did some shopping online, if he had lost his atm before, the type of people that enter his home; his friends... etc. If you are not guilty of the above, then, an insider could be in connivance with the perpetrator. We call this ATM cloning. Your card has been cloned. Your details revealed in the dark wed; it could be that you accessed an unsecured site, someone got your details, or it could be that a bank staff works with a scammer in Mexico which I doubt. I know a guy back then that clones people's atm card. He was caught right at the band when he went to make a withdrawal at the ATM. The ATM was bleeping and giving a sound alert like a bell. The security guards arrested him. That was how he was jailed. He is dead now. That was how they wiped my uncle account. He never divulged his details to anyone, but only to himself. He woke up one morning ,and was receiving debit alerts. Someone that knows you or have your details knows someone in Mexico that is a scammer. You really need to do something fast about it. 3 Likes 1 Share |

lilachiever: Mine was also transferred to a PAGA, close to 100K, the banks have many loopholes but do not help someone pursue money. They will just tell you it's gone as if it's #30. OP pls drag and sue the bank, go through all the stress. Get the police involved. |

lebete3000: It has nothing to do with the bank's security or even @dicksonadams. His/her card details were generated and cloned. This's the real fraud ran by whites, not Nigerians. The OP is just unfortunate and if you're not lucky they could generate your own card tomorrow and use it, and there's nothing you can personally do about it or even your bank. This's EFCC's job to help both the victim and the bank but, of course, we all know Nigerian institutions are not there to serve the Nigerian people. I reported similar case to the EFCC since over a year ago and nothing came out of it. The two guys below explained it. Francisduckman: Collins4u1: 1 Like 1 Share |

This was how my case looks like had issue with my card complained to the bank online customer care only to be called at the time the bank chose to reach me details collected more than 55k fiam from my account, the funny thing is i fell for it cos they knew my bvn, full name, date of birth etc how did the they get my info? is still a mistery I am sure there is a lesk somewhere and they minitored my acct, still hoping to have my money retrieved... Bsd Reached out to Police reply goan bring 16k EFCC reply we don't handle cases that is not up to 5million Right now I am hoping the bank would help retrieve Op: Ask the bank to investigate To avoid things like this in future stop using debit card, if you still have one disconnect from your account, stop using the sim you use to receive alart for other things infact keep it in your house, if i had known all these earlier i wouldn't be complaining now 1 Like 2 Shares |

The person that is responsible for those transactions are close to you. They have your ATM Details. Your PAN number on the ATM and CW number. What they did was to pay for goods online. Some of this craze Chinese wedsites does not even require your PIN or OTP to be sent to your phone. The goods are mainly coming in from China. To be delivered in a future date between two weeks to a month. Going forward keep your ATM Debit cards Safe don't be careless with them. Quickly go to the Bank tomorrow to fill an incidence and write a letter now and scan to via email to there customer care or complain mail. So that this fund can be blocked and reversed back to your Main account. You have to act fast because that fund in the ledger balance will leave within two days to a week. Please tell the Bank to Hotlist that card and get another one. Again keep all your ATM Debit cards safe 1 Like 1 Share |

dicksonadams: The Fraud did not originate from Nigeria. Your debit card details must have been compromised somehow. If you can visit a branch do so and request for a charge back since it's a card transaction. If it's not a card transaction ie mobile OYO na your case. |

These debits are made from the airport all in Mexico. All the transactions were POS.. so it's much easier.. Just approach your bank, cancel your card and charge back all the transactions.. it's very easy.. Dont forget, ask your bank to charge back the transactions, can be like 30 working days but all the transactions will be reversed .. Very easy.. no even follow anybody drag.. I just did the same thing with access bank.. in my case, I paid for hotel in Tanzania and the hotel was like 200 km away from the city, I called hotel.com to refund my money and they told me they dont refund.. I na said okay, o shebi una dey craze.. I went to lodge in another place and paid for my 2 weeks stay.. as i reach naija like dis, i just enter access bank, called the transaction fraudulent, and charged it back.. 25 days later i see reverse alert... hotels.com just call me to apologise.. 3 Likes 1 Share |

No bank is safe. Once those fraudulent people get your card number, irrespective of the bank, they will wipe your money by making online payments. |

And for all of you saying you are sure bank staff is involved. How sure are you? This may not be the case at all. The OP should just go to the bank tomorrow 30th and make a formal complain. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I experienced same thing last week, but we took a fast action. Well, I suspect bank staff are involved in these shit owing to how easy these guys access peoples account. What do you expect when the Banks are busy employing cheap labour. Outsourcing all teller and retail jobs and paying them salaries that can not foot their transport expenses. These guys get in there, devise means on how to upgrade their income as their stipend is not enough. The annoying part is that the bank can't help you recover your lost cash. I assure you the bank can't. So whenever you get a debit alert not authorised by you, don't waste a second, transfer the remaining money to any available account. While working on safeguarding your account either by placing PND( the bank will do that upon request) etc. It is well. Meanwhile, stay safe all. Practice good hygiene and pray always. 2 Likes |

The same happened to my father's account with Stanbic IBTC bank. They fraudulently used his debit card to buy goods on wish.com to the tune of N37000. We are still on case. Stanbic IBTC bank is yet to return the money. The money is even my father's pension paid by Stanbic IBTC Pension. I'm very the bank staff are behind these fraudulent transactions. Please let's collaborate and get our money back. The bank staff have turned to thieves. |
