Voodoonomics. If total revenue is: 2.83 trillion; and Recurrent (under Jonathan's) = 107% of revenue; and Recurrent (under Atiku's proposal) = 60% of revenue (47% less) WHERE will the almost 50% Recurrent budget cut/savings come from? Retrenchment? Cut of social services? Privatizations? Cut education? And where will the expected non-oil revenue (to pay for 100 % of recurrent as proposed by Atiku's 48 month projection) come from? Taxes? Asset sell off? Please be specific. |

^^^^ . . . those are the points exactly! The 'opposition' will always attack any budget without being specific on how they would do things differently, and this happens the world over! UK, US, Germany etc! So Mr Atiku, where are you going to find N1.33 Trillion in savings/cuts from ![]() |
Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by Lagosboy: 12:41pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
ADint: You are right we need some specifics but this does not validate GEJ´s budget in any way. Every layman will know a budget where 1.7 million naira is spent on catering DAILY is a budget signed into law only by a GEJ. |

While I will never vote for Atiku under any guise, because has always beemn part of the cabal that has continued to make this nation to grow at a very slow rate, but we can nut sweep the issues raised unde carpet. These are facts, except GEJ team can come out to claims that the figures used for the analysis are false, otherwise Mr President may be clueless about how to move this Country forward. so whom do we vote for? |
Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by HamidO1(m): 1:49pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
Jimmy Boy: Why not give younger people a chance, For me Atiku and GEJ are both from an unproductive party, a party that consists of so many old and greedy men always trying to be relevant. Eleven (11) years of PDP rule and we are still clamouring for the basic neccesities of life, no realistic person will ever think PDP no matter the candidate they bring forward can solve the problems of this Nation. I think it's time we look else where, RIBADU 2011 |

this whole senerio is being masterminded by Atiku in order to show that if given the opportunity he is going to be the best. Don't let us forget that Atiku was in power as a VP for 8 good years with no good road, electricity, inflation was on the high side, poor educational system, no employment etc. today he wants to come back as a president with lots of criticism in his opponent(who happens to be a virgin in politics). The truth is Atiku represents the old generational politician and as such HAS NOTHING TO OFFER. pls any one who is a suppoter of Atiku shld ask him what happen when he was VP and the chirman of BPE. where does he got the money to pay $1m to his foreign lecturers on monthly basis within nigeria state? for everyone information, Atiku is more corrupt then his former boss (OBJ) the facts are there. He is a thief with many faces. |

richidinho:At least he's smart enough to hire an international expert. I guess GEJ should try to outsmart Atiku, if he really can, by hiring his own set of international experts too! With people like you around, we need not blame the white for our woes! etum-egbo: If GEJ is blamed for inactivity for being in government for almost 12 years to date without anything to show for it, people like yourself will claim he was only paying the second fiddle for most of the 12 years. Here you are now blaming atiku for no results for being a VP for 8 years. What exactly has GEJ done in his own 12 years in government, whether as a deputy Gov; a Governor, VP or President? Go to Bayelsa state and see for yourself! On how Atiku gets his $1M monthly to pay his lecturers, you are probably still in high school to even reason as such (perhaps JSS-1). The school has students who pay fees to attend the institution. In case you are not aware, the fees for schooling at AUN is not money for groundnuts. It almost 3M annually per student. See link below: http://americanuniversitynigeria.org/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=41:tuition-a-fees&catid=9:admissions&Itemid=13 If that does not satisfy you, perhaps you need to take a closer look at Atiku's other businesses. He owns, unarguably, the most successful indigenous oil service firm in Nigeria. Read the BBC report in the link below and you'll get a clearer picture. At least Atiku has strings of business to prove the source of his wealth. Abeg point out what GEJ has to prove what he and his wife own. Stop hating, deal with the real issues. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6292141.stm The fact remains that GEJ's first budget is aimed at enslaving the masses further and plunging the nation deeper into debts! |

Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by 9ijaMan: 5:15pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
richidinho: Where is your proof? At least I have given you guys some proof that he can pay his lecturers. Show us some proofs of an actual indictment of Atiku over PTDF or any other funds! If you run out of ideas, it'll do you a lot of good to simply read the posts. No be by force for you to make comments na! |
Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by dayokanu(m): 5:19pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
richidinho: If Atiku is corrupt or he stole money why has GEJ not prosecuted him? That means GEJ is aiding and abetting Atiku corruption and therefore not fit to be president. Yoruba people would say "The accomplice is more culpable than the thief" "Eni gbe epo laja ko jale bi eni to gba sile" |

dayokanu: the same yorubas say that "when pikin hand never hold cutlass well well, he nor dey ask wetin kill im papa" t'owo omode ko ba ti te eku ida, k'ibere iku t'opa baba e. only fools rush in where angels fear to tread. in due season I'm sure GEJ will prosecute Atiku and others including our relations and friends who are also thieves and we celebrate and hang around them for favours instead of educating them |
Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by Nobody: 5:34pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
Atiku/Soludo were arrow-heads of the OBJ administration under which recurrent expenditures ballooned. The damaging effects were hidden away because oil money was flowing at the speed of light. They lent the funds to their friends who took it to Dubai, and so on. . . Like a tumor fed by a large artery, they laid huge pipes to siphon Nigeria's oil earnings by crooked means. excellent write up. |
Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by Lagosboy: 5:37pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
anonimi: GEJ must be a saint then who has never stole a kobo from Nigeria. If his boss OBJ never succeeded in prosecuting Atiku in any court of law for corruption after painstaking investigations then GEJ mus be a genuis to succeed at this. The truth is GEJ is as corrupt as Atiku and birds of the same feather. The difference is Atiku is 100 times smarter than GEJ and Nigeria does not need a dullard as president. (personally i will not vote PDP ) |
Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by 9ijaMan: 5:40pm On Jan 04, 2011 |

Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by dayokanu(m): 5:43pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
anonimi: If GEJ is waiting to prove that Atiku is a thief, Why not wait till he has concluded his investigation before proclaiming Atiku a thief? At this point in time Atiku is not a thief according to Nigerian records and Law says "Innocent until proven guilty" Why should we put the cart before the horse and label someone who hasnt been convicted of any crime a criminal? |
Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by Vigilante: 5:53pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
@anonini - you are as clueless and dull as your master GEJ. Is this how you'll "chase the holigans" away? |
Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by Nobody: 6:02pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
whether you are for atiku, GEJ, buhari, or whovever, the fact remains that the proposed budget from the GEJ administration is suspect. i am not an economist, but if what atiku said GEJ proposed is true, should you not be shouting? how in the world does that make sense? if it does make sense, explain it to us so we understand. once we do that, then you can all go back to determining who is more corrupt than who. |
Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by Nobody: 6:03pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
A lot of people in this Forum are very dumb if ATIKU a man with ordinary Diploma can use their head, A Man who finish Nigeria Custom, selling Seized Goods. He was this intelligent still he was busy stealing PTDF money, A lot of Nigerians are Morons. It is my Brother Soludo who wrote that and when Atiku become president he will be very very irrelevant in his govern ment, PPL shine your eyes. A Dull good man is better than a smart Criminal |

kayci_d77: If the comity of senseless people you should be made life President. Do you think any president write speeches by themselves? What are advisers for? Does Obama know anything about Economics? What is Bernanke for? Does George Bush know anything about warfare? What is Donald Rumsfeld for? So what if Soludo wrote it? Was GEJ the one who wrote the budget? If GEJ despite being president can not get smart people to advise him rather Tony Anenih, Gbenga Daniels etc are his advisers no wonder. How is Atiku a criminal? If Atiku is a criminal how come GEJ has not prosecuted him? That means GEJ does not have the guts to prosecute criminals and therefore not fit to rule. SIMPLE |
Re: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by 9ijaMan: 6:10pm On Jan 04, 2011 |
kayci_d77:Intelligent people would at least read through contribution before making comments. You have justthrown in another unfounded allegation which is completely off topic. Is this what all the team GEJ guys have to offer? The best you guys can do is to descend into the gutters and spew falsehoods an dumb name calling. Stay on topic or keep mute and read from learn from sensible posts. |

dayokanu: All these Yoruba ppl in thisforum think with their Anus, OBJ did not prosecute Atiku, then you want Jonathan who did not kno how the "theifing" process b/w OBJ and Atiku started, to carry the wahala for his head, Una dey Craze, Bloody betrayals. I know you ppl will bretray the SS just as u did to SE. |

anonimi: You are not selling GEJ well, The guy is president already, If he can't use his power, authority and influence to prosecute a criminal -at least charge him with something- now, I wonder when he will do so. like my Yoruba people will say; ‘a kì í fi ni joyè àwòdì kí á mà le gb’ádìe ~you don’t bear a name the expectations of which you cannot meet~ GEJ is president now, so he should do the job now! except he's constrained by his own corruption. ![]() Anyway, I can't vote PDP in my sleep. I see no difference between GEJ, IBB and ATIKU |

kayci_d77: Can everyone now see the typical GEJ supporters? Low on substance high on personal attacks. GEJ's supporters are his worst enemies. Its like he gathered all retards in the country and made them his supporters. Argue substance, This one says the problem is Yorubas |
