James Hardly Chase once wrote '', that fear is the key that unlocks the pockets and wallets of the rich, ''
1- the people who paid this money, were they under gun point, ?
2- was it said anywhere that u must worship in churc always, ?
3- the man that will pray 4 ur new year success is he not a mortal being like u, ?
4- because of laziness people rely on their pastors to read the bible for them, interprete it and even tell them things that can not be backed up in the bible, !
5- WHHY DO U THINK CHURCHES SPRING UP EVERYWHERE YET ATROCITIES ARE ON THE INCREASE?
6- people should know that u cant just pay God money for success if u are not equiped to work for it, faith without works,

See what frustrations and poverty is turning nigerian men to grin I could remember what pissed me of when I was still a christian in nigeria when my pastor will always ask for 1000 to pray for 20 good men who want to experience instant miracle of God with the goya oil in his hand,he will ask us to kneel down and point the 1k on him,it later became boring when I could not afford to be paying 1k twice a week I stopped attending church cuz of d disgrace and cours my pastor always rain on those who have and don't wish to receive the miracle of the goya oil. This pissed me off to no end and I vowed to depart from him expecially when I caught him watching porn film in his office while strocking his dick, cheesy am a buddha now and of a clean spirit nigeria pastors make me hate christianity.
Re: Church Gate Fee: Pastors Condemn Oyakhilome by Nobody: 4:27pm On Jan 10, 2011
but the said 31st night service was broadcasted live across the country, why not stay at home if thats what the church management wanted for that day,
why not also consider the issue of stampeding, the possible outcome had a knockout been thrown into such a place
the issue of bomb attacks and the religous/political crises in the north, what if the church was attacked that night
was the broadcasting by NTA and others free
come to think of it 1000 x 25,000 is just N25m, is somebody telling me that pastor chris will dent his image for such an amount.
i dont attend his church but my church in ph here holds 31st night service from 4.30pm till 8pm just to avoid an incidence that happened years ago, this might be their own means of crowed control

Why so much fuss about this matter?

So many jobless men-of-god that granted the interview seem to be desperately looking for ways to hammer this man even before now!

I wonder if their money was used to pay for the programme. Anyway, no matter the level of condemnation you people have decided to throw at this man, he cannot be shaken or perturbed because he's not answerable to any of you or the so called men-of-god!

Take it or leave it, there was a reason for the action and he does not need your permission to do what he did!  angry

He will answer to his Boss and not any of you or the hungry men-of-god!

Better mind your own business or go start your own church!  angry

I sense  jealousy and resentment especially from those mushroom Pastors calling for Pastor Chris's head. How many of them can pull such crowd? One even suggested he should be stoned. Anyway, a a boss with five hundred employees don't need to take advice from an employer with twenty workers. Am waiting to hear comments from the likes of Oyedepo, Adeboye, Kumuyi and then we can actually look at it from their perspective knowing they are familiar with crowd and crowd control.Am not a Christ embassy member but i think Oyakhilome has a reason for doing this.

I think this is real Big Plunder,

If the Pastor knew that the venue was Small
he should have gotten a bigger Venue

and he knew he will get more offering anyway using
a Bigger venue, or was he afraid of Offering funds going amiss.

THIS IS SOOOO SAD AND COULD BE A REAL TURNING POINT IN HOW
PEOPLE VIEW HIM,

JUST SOOOOO WRONG,

TOO MUCH PEOPLE GET A BIGGER VENUE, BUT CHARGING BIG MISTAKE!!!

I am so dissappointed with Pastor for allowing this kind of embarrassement oh his personality and on his church. It is so outrageous and beyond saying. I sincerely respect this man though I am not his member neither do I ever attend any of his church before but as this has be it really hurts me a lot. What will he do with all what God has given him spiritually and financially that N 1,000 is what to pay to attend programme is so sad indeed.

It really reap my spirit apart if even if it was because too many people are to attend the service with limited space how does that concern him or the organiser? I think all that matters is for anybody who want to come should come is to come earlier and get better sit or place or come late and stay wherever you find space in as far you render your prayer and receive what you want from God, tasking money is totally bad and a serious degrading and dent to the church as a matter of fact I see it as an open bribery to be honest if it were to be in another country am sure investigation must have arise by now.

@ hugoo42

He does not need any approval or disapproval from any of the names you mentioned because none of them is his Boss.

Why do you need someone's opinion to know if your actions are right or wrong?

At his level, he is only answerable to ONE person - BABA GOD.

Period!

Adeboys, Oyedepo & Kumuyi are not even going to open their mouths
or comment on this matter! Tunde Bakare has not said anything,

Its common Knowledge that Pastor Chris and the Pastors you mentioned
do not relate in any shape or form. Pastor Chris is a kind of Lone Ranger,

This was Big Error on His (Pastor Chris Part)

I GUESS HE IS FOLLOWING THE MODEL OF THAT PASTOR IN HOUSTON - Joel Osteen,

He charged for his event at London, at Wembley Arena but to be Fair to
Pastor Joel Osteen, he rented Wembley Arena, so he charges people for
entry.

DUDE ! There lies the problem "He is not accountable to anybody!!!

Thats sooo wrong, Even Oyedepo Submits his minstry to mentors and advisors ie Adeboye, Ken Copeland, Ashimolowo, Myles Munroe, Mike Murdock, these men are trustee's of Oyedepo Minstry and "HE REPORTS
TO THEM!!!"

Pastor Chris should have Trustee's and mentors but he choices not too
which is wrong,

Even Jesus was accountable in conduct & character to his 12 Disciples!!!

Lets keeps this in Perspective,

u guys should be careful of the way you criticize and judge God's servant,i'm not a member of chris' church, but the thing is that he is human with human

failings,it is not up to us to judge his actions for the bible says, who are you to judge God's servant, to his master he stands or falls,it is a delicate thing to

critisize those whom God have called and annointed. So be very CAREFUL,a word is enuff for the wise

No official version of the story has been heard from Christ Embassy. As such, most of the commentators are giving an unbalanced view. The newspapers will only write what will sell. Did Christ Embassy make provision for people to watch the event from other venues, say open field via large TV screens? My mum just informed me that she used to watch the watch night service on a big screen in a field at Okota in Lagos which was more convenient than going to the main service at Oregun. If the church had allowed everyone in and an overflow or balcony had collapsed killing people, the Church leaders would have been blamed for negligence. There had to be a way of dissuading the crowd from turning up en-mass at the church premises with limited space. Unfortunately the church may have adopted a method which is strange to the Nigerian culture. In the Western world for example, this would have been a perfectly normal practice. If you do not want to pay the £4 or $6, watch from a different venue which is free. The same power available in the main auditorium would be available to those watching on the big screen or internet. In the West, in order to dissuade people from doing something, you add a penalty say parking fee, congestion charge, toll fee etc. People thus find alternatives. The case of the church is different but the church had to find a way to ensure the safety of all those who wished to attend the meeting. People had to be turned away. Maybe an acceptable alternative would have been first come first served. Once the full capacity of the church is reached, the door is shut (for safety reasons) and others will watch from big screens outside or on the internet. A record in Acts 20 shows that the Church is not spared of its share of disasters if due care is not taken. Having seen the feedback on this incident, I believe the leadership of Christ Embassy would work together to find a more acceptable approach in future. Let us not see this as a ploy by men of God to extort money from people but rather as a means of crowd control for safety reasons which may or may not have been well thought through. In conclusion, Christians out to pray for one another and encourage/ rebuke, reproof one another whenever we seem to have missed the mark rather than calling for one anothers' crucifixion.

compujyde:

It appears you don't know Pastor Chris, well let me help you out. Pastor Chris gives in millions of US dollars to the cause of God not only in His ministry but also in other ministries both within Nigeria and around the world just to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ. N25m is not even something he can give out for the cause of God, maybe he can give that out for charity as he did some time ago at Benin where he gave one of the attendees N3m during the programme.
In fact the same 31st Night event was aired on major networks in Nigeria (including the expensive AIT) and outside the nation such that 250 countries in total were covered. I guess you are already thinking of some billions spent right now.

Pastor Chris who while ministering some years ago, someone walked up to him kneeling down in reverence and gave him a cheque of N500 million on the spot. That man of God is mightily graced of God. So personally, he has nothing to do with the money. By the way, most members of the ministry are used to sowing seeds (special givings for the cause of God) so they were just comfortable with it because they know that apart from the expensive broadcasts, setting up the hall to international standard cost hundreds of million (naira) so a thousand naira from them is not even a sacrifice. Maybe strangers (first timers were those who were uncomfortable with it) but there were several surrounding centres around the hall that no ticket was required but I guess everybody just desires to see Pastor Chris face-to-face. I've actually been in that hall when it was packed beyond capacity and if not for the central AC, there would have been a lot of casualties. In fact, I just remembered, even with the AC a lady actually fainted and was quickly rushed out of the hall.

As for Pastors criticizing Pastor Chris, I believe God is watching and hearing them.

Compujyde: defender of Pastor Chris, please answer these questions:

1. How much does Pastor Chris earn as the GO of Christ Embassy to be able to afford N25m donation to charity and much more donations to other churches and ministries?

2. Apart from pastoring Christ Embassy, what other work does this man of God get income from? Don't tell me he sells books and tapes o (you already know thats a cliche). Many publishers of fast selling books don't make N25m profit in a year.

3. Does Pastor Chris pay tithe to the government?

4. Does Christ Embassy audit its account? Is the account shown to members of the church for their information and scrutiny? Transparency and accountability must start from the church.

Waiting for your answers please.

Please stop defending/rationalizing an obviously unchristian act! No reason under the sky is good enough to demand gate fee before entering the "house of God". I am so sure God did not ask the church/pastor to do that.

In fact, if I may ask, are pastors lacking in creativity these days as to prefer making obvious extortions to the veiled ones they used to do in the past??
