To what end I ask? Will there ever be a time it will be considered most safe for schools to reopen? NO. As it stands now the pandemic can only be curtailed not eradicated, and definitely not by hiding in the comfort of our homes, But should be faced squarely with safety measures.

They want to reopen the economy but close schools, not knowing that school is the economy.

Leave them. The specks will soon fall off their eyes when their wards begin to grow interest in idle and despicable things. Who'll bear the larger part of the brunt in the end? The parents.

My people, pay attention.
The government of PMB has likely been secretly taken over by the racist globalist NWO/WHO government. When was last time PMB or any of his family were seen live?

The Presidential Task Force for Covid19 (PTF) have turned into the presidential spokesmen.

WHO is owned by white racist globalists and it's chief financier and stakeholder is Bill Gates, a man of that stated on video that his goal is to reduce world population by 2billion people.
My dear people our PTF has WHO officials as members. This means the people who are trying to depopulate the world (and these racists mean to depopulate Africans) are the same people ruling our country right now.
Yes the WHO covert government in Nigeria are responsible for causing our economy to collapse, the denial of our rights to travel, the loss or ruining of our livelihood, the emptying of our bank accounts and starvation of our poorest.
Family, what I am telling you is to believe nothing this PTF/WHO government says. Their ultimate plan is our depopulation. Promises of reopening schools and lifting travel ban just to give false hope and stall any rebellion whilst they perfect their plans.
Make no mistake about it, there would be no return to normality until they have poisoned as many of us as they can manage.
Stay alert.

When market did not open, all of you are shouting OPEN MARKET O, WE GO DIE O. You don't want to pay school fees. A parent told a school owner she was owing last term's school fees, 'Thank God'. Selfish society. You say adult can protect themselves. How many of you adhere strictly to social distancing rule.. The teachers are adult. They will distant and monitor the children. What is the assurance your child can not be infected in your own house?

You think that's the problem?
You don't think those kids can be a vector for the virus?

We're trying to curtail spread here. Damn!
Fear of the unknown. How practical can it be that kids should stay home until its curtailed. Everyone knows the virus is here to stay. Most people get well from the virus. Some have had it and recovered themselves. Dont let the media paint it as it the virus jumps from one host to another. Alot of the deaths recorded world wide are not death as a result of contacting corona just that they happened to have had the virus but it was not a major influence in their death.

An Government directives states that schools remain locked.

They are more intune and working with frontline professionals to know when its best.

A threat to one is a threat all, and the idea that some people should sit at home while some go to school is baseless, selfish, unpatriotic and careless.

Science will lead the way, and science we will follow.

They are to do it in two shifts, morning and afternoon ok? No pupil or student is left out, so pls elaborate ur meaning of selfish.

If you're sincere with yourself, you can agree that this disease will never finish in Africa, if at all it's what we see in the US you to have here.

Just tell us that this period favours your business as you exploit people.

They are forcing people to say they have COVID and you are here adding sorrow to pain.

Stop making this kind of disastrous comment.

There has never been COVID19 in Nigeria!

More people die now cos they don't treat them of their original sicknesses again.

Can't you equally tell those your fake leaders to give people what to eat as they lock us down?

Do you see watch what is happening at where there is COVID19 at all?

All schools should be closed till they find a way out. The worst place for corona virus to spread is in the university (Public). Once one person has it be rest assured that almost everyone in the university will get it. Look at crowd that comes for lectures how are they going to ensure social distancing with out affecting the academic timetable.

Some of your children class mates are already in the with there parents, with this don't expect school to open till 202.........
I don't think is a good advice to open market without opening schools, parents that think there children are not safe can seek other alternative for them selves or better still wait till when they are convince that there children are safe.

Government should look at the issue side by side not on one side:

* Not reopening school is definitely affecting the children
* Is causing lose of job to many youth they by increasing unemployment rate
* Is dropping passion for school to the children as many are now using the opportunity to join there parents in the market, manual labor etc.
* It will definitely generate more agboro that will mature to something else.

Open the schools. If you don't want your kid to go, they should stay at home. Some people are actually earning from the schools too. It's not compulsory and moreover some parents want their kids to go to school sef

I earn from the school but I will never be in support of government opening schools when there's little or nothing on ground to cushion the effect of the virus. Safety of the children first. That supercedes every other thing. Most schools conduct their business online and that should suffice for now.
Re: Don’t Reopen Schools Now, Lagos Parents Tell Govt by deebrain(m): 9:19pm On May 28, 2020
That cannot be the opinion of most enlightened parents. Probably audio parents.

Because as it were, unless we are ready to deal with a reality that the possibility of a lost school year, or even two (God forbid) is okay for us, we should be very concerned about schools reopening.

Asper online options, only very few students seem to get a grasp of learning that way.

Lol... For how long would they keep watching cartoons??

Most of them their parents are market traders, kekeriders, bus drivers, etc. These parents will go out and lock the children in from morning to night?? Or the parents aren't capable to transferring the SCAMdemic to their wards after retiring from the day's job??

Online methods work for large capacity schools, not from schools on ghetto areas, where some parents cannot afford an Android phone.

Also physical interaction between a teacher and some pupils hasnt improved learning, shey na audio speeches pikin wan understand??

Eulalia:
They keep saying don't open schools. For what exactly? Is it to prevent the children from being exposed? Mind you, other sectors have been opened and the same parents kicking against the reopening of schools expose themselves to crowded markets, offices (especially banks) and still come back home to the same wards they are trying to protect. What sense is there in all that. It only takes one exposed person to infect thousands of contacts if we are to go by the epileptic policy and if this disease is still really that "widespread". Take the case of a father who infected his entire family some months ago. Did the children go to any school?

Please let the educational sector also be opened. Covid 19 has reduced to the bearest minimum and with the right precautionary measures in place, there won't be any rebound of the pandemic.

The teachers are the worst hit of this lockdown with no form of support or relief from the govt. If we all decide to change career and quit teaching for good, then will people understand our importance and the need to put us into consideration first before any other profession.

We are the medium to civilization. Without us, the world future will be bleak and Ignorance will be the order of the day.

You are a teacher and you reason like this? God save our educational sector from karashikas like you. Teachers are supposed to be role models, teachers are supposed to be walking encyclopedias, teachers are supposed to be considerate, compassionate and motherly. It's a pity you're none of these things.

Whether the NCDC is forthright with their statistics or not is not an issue for discourse here. You claimed that the spread of the virus has reduced to the barest minimum, right? Where did you get your figures from? Did you conduct a personal research? Even WHO is working with the statistics as provided by NCDC.

I understand the need for you to earn and sustain your family but we shouldn't do that at the detriment of innocent, little children. Adults couldn't be too careful how much less children! I am a teacher like you but I wouldn't want any child's life to be risked just because I want to earn salary. There are no measures in place now to ensure safety of children and their teachers so schools shouldn't open just yet. Many schools have resorted to technology to stay on top of issues. You can also look for a means to engage in a side hustle pending.
