I think they are tired of lazy and illiterate youths.

Dangote should invest in Nigerians. I am more than certain the role these indians occupy can definitely be done by people amongst the 180million Nigerians.

I really hate when I read news like this or hear of Nigerian companies employing foreigners to do jobs that Nigerians are clearly competent and capable of doing. If I can't get gainful employment in my own backyard, of what use is the backyard.

This sh*t has to change.

Dangote is already trying

He won't kill himself for the country

The Nigerian engineers who currently work there were trained in India - thanks to Dangote

I have a friend who is a beneficiary

I wonder why dangote will need 270 workers from India alone in a country of over 100 million available work force.

It's not untrue that our educational system is not in order, but adequate training will fill the gap.

Use Nigeria, grow Nigeria.

We'll remain committed.

The level of stealing among Nigeria labourers Is fantastic. Pay Nigerians high they will steal, pay them low they will steal... It's in their blood especially edo people. Go and ask Julius bargger or dantata etc.
Do you know Nigeria dangote drivers do divert cement? Despite the tracking. Insurance company in Nigeria are avoiding deft insurance. They know better.

Please note that there are other nationalities working in that Dangote project not only Indians though its also true that using Indian labor is relatively cheap.
Also note that they aint leaving cos of poor handling or fear of Covid 19 rather most of them are over due for vacation due to flight restriction with regards to the Pandemic.
Some too are on a one way ticket as there contract is ended. The project is already in an advanced stage.

Nigerians can do the job but the nature of this job would require some form of training.

So essentially, the Nigerians (besides those for show) are not Job ready. These guys are. Or near ready.
Perhaps they just left a similar project prior to going to Nigeria on this project. Or they had relevant training.

The nature of Competition abounding in a Country of > 1bn people would normally exceed that of Nigeria where the average application expect to be trained for the job at hand.

Capitalism preys (when not being seen).

A woman calls her husband who has gone to work.
Woman: Baby, pls buy me Yam at the market on your way back from work.
Husband: OK honey, but I gave you money before leaving the house this morning, right?
Woman: Yes, baby. But I'm tired. Do that for me, pls!
Husband: OK honey, see you. Few minutes later, the husband calls the woman back.
Husband: Honey, help! Come quickly, to the market. The lady selling the yam grabbed me by the neck, accusing me of being responsible for her pregnancy.
Woman: What? Baby I'm on my way.
She arrived the market and calls her husband to know his position.
Woman: Hello baby, I'm here. Pls where are you?
Husband: I'm still at work. Buy your yam and go home dear.

Get a clue from just below one answer,
There is not a single one Technical expert in Entire African continent (Except SA) ,capable of establishing and troubleshooting an Interoperable communication between Rack to rack in Hot Redundant DCS system bus (Automated Control System), where the bus is connected to Porfibus PA and DP, Modbus and PROFINET Network, along with MIS functionality upto ERP system.

I can tell you more reasons if you want.

There r some jobs we still don't have the expertise to carried out. Most of these companies like that of Dangote, they have complicated automation machines that need the help of an expert n we refused to send the blacks to learn it in overseas, we prefer importing these guys into Nigeria.

what you want to say by saying that in this story case? Yes Me and you may face racism over there but these Technicians flying back to India are not Nigerians so they are not going to face that. so what is the point of your saying in this issue.

I know you are trying to inform and educate him, and may be he can understand but most of the people here are so ignorant, even though they havent seen a DCS controlled Factories they asked why DCS developers from India are here in Dangote.

Ignorance is a curse and its found in us Blacks in abundance. We are nothing yet we try to showoff we are the world.

Indian labour no cheap in Nigeria. The least pay for unskilled indian labour is around 250k sent straight to Indian with feeding and free accommodation. Skilled Indians collect nothing less than $2500 to $5,000

These ones protested that they are made to work during lockdown. That's they are sending them back another batch is coming

Enlightenment yourself and don't comment blindly

None of those indians earn more than $500.

Some were collecting $300 then even though there feeding and accommodation are taking care of. Q

I've worked in a fcmg that had over 500 india workers when the construction began.

I was working with the account department to maintain there erp system.

I was shocked when I found out how low they earn.

It's only there supervisors and head of department that earn between $1500 to $5000

Those guys are the most cheapest people you can see.
