I know an average Edo person to be rugged. I for talk now, how can they allow Godfatherism of the cowardly Yorubas to stand in Edo state, even at a time I was of the opinion that maybe because they say Edos have similar ancestry with Yoruba so godfatherism might stand, but this move by Obaseki has reignited the Edo spirit that i know. The relationship between Edo and Yoruba was only in terms of precolonial politcs.

If anything, only Igbos actually share ancestry with Yorubas as recently as affirmed by the Obi of Onitsha amidst a lot of Igbo Language words which bear almost the same spellings and meanings in Igbo.

i look at obaseki as a technocrat that can deliver but i'm still confused on his performance. i don know what he has achieved so far. or even if he has any sustainable project in the works. i hear say he cancelled the benin storm project that was supposed to stop the flooding.

i'm even surprised a man of his calibre as governor can not have good advisers. he can not even have friends in APC nwc to advise him on the right documents to present. he has himself to blame. he just belittled the governor's office.

Without Governor Obaseki, APC is doomed to fail.
Edo people have started to dislike APC after the disqualification of Governor Obaseki from participating in the primaries.

APC might rigged the election but may not be able to beat the very large figures as in time past.

Unfortunately, Oshiomole is not interested in APC victory but only out to frustrate Obaseki

The way some people reason in this forum, only God can help their situation. You term Ambode coward, simply because he refuse to go to another political party after loosing in APC, is it a must for a Governor to go twice? Is it a do or die? When Obaseki knows that he can't condone godfatherism why did he allow the godfather to put him there in the first place, why not fight for himself then by forming a new party that does not have godfather, why go to APC when you know you can't condone godfatherism, no political party in Nigeria is without godfathers, didn't we see how our Governors also turn their self to godfathers after completing their two term by choosing who to be the next governor against the party wish, that is where godfatherism start from, even obaseki will turn to godfather one day. So I didn't see an end to godfatherism in this country, let us all stop supporting this politicians with our do or die mentality and let us stop viewing those that believed is not a do or die as coward.

His case will be somewhat similar to Ikedi Ohakim of Imo state years ago. He might loose and if Philip Shuaibu decides to run also that even makes it worse.

Honest truth is that I feel Obaseki fired the first salvo, so he is at fault here.

In my opinion, the APC has a very gingered base (from Law-makers who have been denied their seats to local council chairmen who have been forcefully removed), federal might, and a lot of cunning (same on the PDP side). Even if Obaseki wins, they can get him out using his certificate scandal (using the Bayelsa precedent).

The best bet for PDP would be to get Obaseki in their corner and use the resources at his disposal, but not field him as their candidate cos it might come back to haunt them considering his certificate issues. Obaseki's ambition might also fracture PDP's base, as I imagine a lot of their own people are already rearing to contest for the governorship and would need a lot of placation to back down for Obaseki. If Obaseki can back a PDP candidate, he has a chance of finishing off Oshiomole for good,but he would also have ended his own political career.
