I don't know why we always hype nonsense in Nigeria. I school at abeokuta and my mom is from imeko in ogun state, I stay in Lagos and I have been to almost all the south western state except info state. I know I will get bashed for saying this but the truth is that there is nothing fine about all this state even Lagos state. You guys will take a picture of just one part, over edit the picture and u start hyping nonsense. Let be sincere with ourselves there is nothing beautiful about Nigeria. How do we expect Nigeria to develop when u keep hyping just an area that can even be compared with a village in developed countries. Even lekki self that is always hyped, when it rains then u see it true colour.

Enugu is the reason why Trum called Nigeria a shithole.

As small as it is, 75% of it is covered in Brownroofs.

abeokuta

Guy you can lie Sha. These photos you posted are not roads in abeokuta, but ogun state. The city Abeokuta has one of the best(wide like mad) roads in Nigeria. The state roads are amazing, it is some actually few feeder roads that are bad. They have better roads than in Ibadan if you should know. This pics you sent are just after ifo, before kpakpa on your way to abk. I lived in ib for years, I hate the intensity and roughness of Lagos and hopefully want to relocate finally to abk. I've visited severally, from lafenwa go quarry road go pansheke go agbarra go iyana mortuary that IBD hotel side. I don't know about other things but I know they have good roads cus I've seen them myself, bros why now.

I am Yoruba but judging from what am seeing here, SW have a lot of catching up to do with the East; in terms of City planning and development.

What catching up between the two shithole places?
Do they have electricity? Water? Smooth feeder roads? Mass transit? Primary schools for every child?
We deserve our rotten hell holes.

You just ended up confusing yourself. Now, allow me to school you. Human capital development is an offshoot of educational enrollment. Without having a high enrollment rate you can't talk about having a developed human capital. Based on that fact, can you compare primary, secondary and university enrollment figures between Imo and Anambra states with Ogun state?

Without Ogun being close to Lagos, it would have been as re.tarded as other SW states. Even from the pictures you're posting here, it goes to show that Ogun is still backward.

So, these are pictures of the best places you have in Abeokuta

Damn it, Aba looks far more beautiful and advanced than this!

Abakilike has better infrastructure than this!

I just used these two cities which are by no means the best we have in the SE. I didn't mention Enugu, Owerri or Onitsha because that will amount to an overkill.

Truly speaking, Lagos really helped you guys to cover a lot of things and without Lagos, SW would most likely be worse than NE. If we have anything like Lagos close to the SE, I bet you we would be far ahead of any region in Nigeria.
I'm ashamed of you. It's folks like you that make people feel Igbo people are full of hate and envy. What is wrong with you? Why can't you let them enjoy their aerial views
When we post aerial pictures of Onitsha, Owerri and Porthacourt, you all begin to type 'wonderful', 'amazing' and later start rebuking people from the southwest calling them 'brown roof'. Now they are showing you pictures of coming developments and planned areas, instead of appreciating, you are throwing tantrums and stupid remarks up and down undecided

And yet the state is poising itself more and more to become the new Lagos and Abuja combined into one.
Seems like the skull mining is doing some cool wonders for them., or don't you think?

Seriously I wonder Igbos are crying profusely over this thread. I can feel their angst from here. You hardly see Yorubas in Anambra or Imo picture threads.
Oh well..... if wishes were horses, I know many Igbos that would wish the SW was their homeland while all Yorubas were deported to the SE. You and I both know.

looool can Nnewi even be considered a city?

Nnewi that is like a scattered hybrid between a forest and a brown roof town. Very jaga-jaga, haphazardly settled, red mud gullies everywhere and no plan like most Igbo habitats.

Below is REAL Nnewi aerial.

Ogun state is unique among the states in the federal republic of Nigeria. It has the second highest HDI (Human development Index) in Nigeria after Lagos and unlike its contemporaries across the country, it is replete with several large and mostly developed cities spread across the state apart from the capital city. These include urban centres such as Shagamu, Ota, ilaro, Ijebu ode, Agbara among others. The state has a large population and is host to many industries and business ventures. It is basically Nigeria's emerging Trade and Industry hub after Lagos. That apart, it has some of Nigeria's best secondary and tertiary educational institutions.

This thread brings you images from the state capital Abeokuta that you most likely have not come across before in a way you have never seen it presented before.
Enjoy!

I repeat... Imo is a mediocre 1 town state. And Imo lacks industry.
Imolites are all over the SW enjoying opportunities they can't back home.
Go sit down and think deep. Stop lying to your ori.
I'm from Anambra, but it's not true that Imo is a mediocre state. Imo has industries too. Truth be told, Imo state capital is more beautiful than Ogun State capital. Besides, when you get to the villages, there are more beautiful and new generation houses in Imo than in Ogun.

However, Ogun has more industries than Imo due to its contiguity to Lagos. What are those opportunities they're enjoying in the SW that they can't enjoy back home? They are contributing revenues to the wellbeing of the SW. It's their sweat. There are also some Yorubas living in Imo, doing business and contributing revenues to the wellbeing of Imo, although the number of Imolites doing business and contributing revenues in the SW is greater than the number of Yorubas living in Imo State.

Nigeria is a secular state. Anybody can choose where he or she likes to live. It doesn't mean that there are no opportunities in that person's state.

I know some Igbos who travelled to the SW and the North, thinking that more opportunities abound there than in Igboland. They later came back with nothing. For instance, there was this Anambra young man who travelled to Lagos, did all kinds of business, but couldn't make a headway. He came back to Abakaliki in Ebonyi State with nothing, and started life afresh. It amazed people how he became rich quickly. He became a multimillionaire before he died. They're numerous I know too. So, there are opportunities everywhere. It's we humans that look down on potential opportunities, because some humans don't look into the future or think that Lagos is filled with more opportunities than other places.

Ogun state is a disappointment considering the rate of his development... VERY SLOW. Even with the proximity to Lagos that would aid her advantage for growth, is still consider below average. Not good enough :/!
