One common thing among those right-wing leaders you mentioned in USA, UK, brazil and india is that, they do not believe in Science; they downplay Science and replace it with their political views, and no one wonders that, they are suffering....look at Canada, close door neighbors to USA and even in a more colder region, they are doing relatively fine, because their leader is following the science.
