naijamumcarephx:
Like I said before if you have already booked your financial appointment with MIH before the announcement of the price increase, they said they will honor the old price till December.

This is really encouraging. Please, is there anyway you think we can confirm this? Contact of this financial counsellor maybe? Cos they keep saying different things at different times to different people. Its exhausting to say the least!

It will be bad to find out otherwise after having bought ticket.

malory84: Tickets done come down o. Chai I regret buy my ticket already, almost 100k difference . BA to elpaso for those going in December has dropped to 320k. My hubby go do sharp sharp buy the ticket for like 410k. Now is the best time to buy tickets.

Lol. But we kept annoucing that people should wait for summer prices to come down na.

mimibe: Hello all, I delivered my baby boy last week Tuesday in Gwinnett by dr Oduro, the nurses were fanstatic. The financial lady said I will receive the bill in 8-10 business days, I'm yet to receive my bill. I ve received birth certificate which I processed thru vital records and it was sent to my apartment in 24 hrs. I'm still trying to get how to go about the passport issuance.

I called dr Jeanne Hyungh of WhMC and her fees is $2k minus tests and ultra sounds but you have to send your ante natal records before she would consider taking you on as a patient. WHMC hospital fees is $2.5k, epidural is $1.2k. I didnt ask for paediatric costs.

I believe she is the cheapest because I called other docs and the least I got was $2.8k

For people that still want to do Arizona; I got a fairly good deal in Tucson. For those who may not know; Tucson is a city in Arizona, about 2hrs-2hrs30mins drive from Phoenix. Good thing is, you can get your baby's passport easily (within 24-48hrs) cos they have a regional office.
The whether down there is good too. The few hotels I checked weren't so pricey.

Hospital name: Northwest Medical Centre
Hosp Phone number: +1 520 742 9000
Dr's name: Dr Constantino Alicia or Dr Dehasse Carol
Dr's Phone number: +1 520 797 0011

Hospital bill: $1,800
Dr's bill: $1,800
Epidural: $350
Lab workup: $135
Total: $4085

I donot have the Paediatrician fees yet but I bet it won't be a bother. This is the cheapest deal I could get in the AZ axis.

@phema,

Nice work!!

Did you get the price for CS?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Tvegas(m): 9:29pm On Sep 24, 2014
Fellow Nigerians, British Airways flights to Phoenix is presently $1654 down from $1950 two weeks ago. El paso is $1,838 down from $2100 two weeks ago. The time to book is now. Thats my own little charity. One love

Hi everyone. I need info on how to get baby's passport in few days in Houston. We were able to get the short form birth certificate which passport office do not accept. They require the long form and we have been told it takes minimum 2 weeks for the long form to be ready. All the passport agents who accept the short form birth certificate for passport application said the passport will be ready in 2 weeks if expedited. I need some info on how to use the short form birth certificate from the county court to get the passport in few days. Somebody please help me with this info.

Hello to all my MIHS heartbrokens.........kpele nu, its not so bad

Just to confirm wat naijaphoenixmum said abt the new prices...yes, its 5,400 for normal and 6,500 for CS

The Chief Financial counselor confirmed to us that all those with Financial appt from October to December would be honored the old price. Infact I asked her 3times just to confirm. She showed me the list of bookings and said yes, old price applies to all these pple.

So wat i would advise is if you already have an appt, call her to confirm again if your name is on her list; and try to beg her to send u an email confirming you would pay the old price wen u arrive. Be polite, and explain to her that u dont want to come all the way and be faced with a bill u dint plan for. Her name is Francesca Hernandez and her number is 602 344 5011.

All d best

uchey: Hi guys,

Am a 25 weeks old pregnant mama. I intend to have my baby in houston texas and i have contacted DR Famogbun. My pproblem now is accomodation.

Someone informed my husband and i abt a place called Precious Cedars Maternity home where they provide specialised care for preggy mommas before and after they have their babies. You pay abt 1500 usd for accomodoation, transport, feeding and other complimentary services. They care for u at delivery if u dont have ur mom or hubby with u?

Has anyone heard of dem or any similar organization?

I also wanted to know how the moms out there who have had deir babies are able to cope alone without any help while abroad.

Send me the address, let me check it out for you.

Sister, why are you considering memorial herman in houston? Are you a rich politician? The hosp facility is new & thus very pricey. Nice ambience, service etc but its not for the masses my dear. Vaginal delivery alone is 7k plus. If you are on a budget kindly respect yasef and consider several other houston options as mentioned on this thread.

Cheers

raii: Anybody got info on memorial hermann in houston.

Hello,

U can't take in animal products and that includes maggi chicken, knorr chicken & indomie chicken. you can risk it tho, but if u r searched, those items will be seized. If dey don't search u, den u r lucky. Also, u can't carry seeds eg egusi, ogbono etc, you have to grind dem. So grind your crayfish sef. If u carry beans, make sure therz no single weevil in it otherwise na dustbin straight. No yam tubers (even if u slice them up). Ofcourse palm oil is a no-brainer, na from naija dem go seize dat one sef.
You can generally carry leaves (ugwu, okazi etc) as long as they are nice and dry. Groundnut in plastic bottles is fine too. If u r carrying dryfish, kindly de-bone everyth.

Try not to carry large quantities that make them feel you are planning to sell food in the US and remember to declare your food items in your landing form. Just use style/sense and declare small because if you don't declare and you are searched, the story begins.

Hope this helps. Cheers

anonymousmum:

please any response to this request?

Hello,

You can call City of Houston vital office on 7138370311. They'll tell you the exact date the BC will be ready. I suggest you go there and pick it up when its ready instead of waiting for it to arrive by mail. It cost $23 per copy and make sure you go along with your money order or a visa/mastercard for payment + your intl passport. Try to arrive there early, the office can be crowded at times.

Once you get the BC, do to Downtown if you are pressed for time and need to get the blue passport asap. Alternatively, you can call the nearest post office, book an appointment and go there with your spouse + one passport foto of the baby. You must carry your baby (applicant) along o. If your spouse is not available, you will need to provide a notarised letter of consent. Fill out the forms, pay for expedited processing and wait for the blue passport to arrive by mail 2-3weeks after. 7 days if u r lucky. You don't need social security number to apply for d passport. Just leave that space blank.
I believe that's all. I don tire to dey type jare.
Cheers
