A Christian is not necessarily someone who follows a set of religious rules, but rather, someone who has a cordial relationship with Christ. A Christian behaves like Christ.

Christianity is about Christ who lives in you and not all about do’s and don’ts. Most people who see Christianity only from the viewpoint of rules and regulations are hypocrites. The Pharisees and Sadducees condemned Jesus for healing on a Sabbath. Jesus pointed out their hypocrisy when He asked if they would not go searching for any of their sheep that went missing on a Sabbath (Mark 3:1-6).

Rules and regulations are good, but they must never take the place of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Ghost in you that helps you live completely holy and not the rules. Adhering to rules does not make a sinner acceptable to Christ, it is only the willingness to surrender all that guarantees salvation. Your Christianity should be cantered on Christ’s love for you, His death, resurrection and promise of eternal life, not some rules to be followed.

For some people, they give pre-eminence to rules so they can earn the right to boast and arrogantly declare their ‘holiness’ forgetting that “ … we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags…” (Isaiah 64:6)

The best thing rules can give you is self-righteousness. Which can make one to be like the Pharisee who went to the temple to pray in Luke 18:10-12. However, justification By God can only come through God’s Spirit in you.

Legalistic people care more about how people see them than how God sees them. they are always looking out for who is breaking the rules so they can attack and even gossip about them (Luke 18:11). God does not want you to boast about your holiness because only through His Spirit can you live holy.

That is only 50% of the Answer. A True Christian is Obedient, (of course it is not possible for you to be saying that a True Christian is Allowed to Do Whatever he Pleases! ).

Therefore, where there is Obedience, there Must be Disobedience.

And when there is Disobedience, There you find Law or Rules as you say!

kpakpandoN:

The Pharisees and Sadducees condemned Jesus for healing on a Sabbath. Jesus pointed out their hypocrisy when He asked if they would not go searching for any of their sheep that went missing on a Sabbath (Mark 3:1-6).

A Rebel who obeys the Law eg A Boko Haram member Not Driving One-way, can not be held to be Complying with the Law.

Christ was teaching about the spirit (who we Truly are) of The Law!

Your error here is because you have not learnt how to use your spirit!

kpakpandoN:

Rules and regulations are good, but they must never take the place of the Holy Spirit.

What if I told you that The Law is the Holy Spirit, would that be too hard for you to swallow?

That Aside, have you seen a Single Instant when The Law was in Conflict with The Holy Spirit and therefore, they Were in Dispute with each other?

kpakpandoN:

It is the Holy Ghost in you that helps you live completely holy and not the rules.

The Holy Spirit teaches you how to keep The Law Easily, by Supplying the Understanding of The Law.

They are not in conflict to each other.

kpakpandoN:

Adhering to rules does not make a sinner acceptable to Christ, it is only the willingness to surrender all that guarantees salvation.

A sinner who obeys The Law, is Still A Sinner!

Salvation comes when he is found at the Relevant Time, Guiltless and Blameless because his sins are wiped away.

kpakpandoN:

Your Christianity should be cantered on Christ’s love for you, His death, resurrection and promise of eternal life, not some rules to be followed

Yes, we all know that He Loved Us Very Dearly but are we not going to Love Him Back?

Or is Love One-Sided? Or is Love Not Reciprocal?

Now if we say we Love Him, Did He Not then tell us that we can reciprocate same by Obeying The Law?

"If you Love Me, Keep My Commandments (Law)

He who is boastful and Proud Can not be said to be keeping The Law.

Law does not give Righteousness, IT IS SIMPLY INSTRUCTING OR TELLING YOU THAT WHICH IS RIGHT, for you To Do!

After That, it's Work is Done. Then, Judgment Comes!

"A True Christian" sic typically, is that person who is uncomfortable with seeing two consenting adults, enjoying having a lifetime until death do part them, loving each other, faithful, kind, caring, committed monogamous homosexual relationship, with no evil or harm done to each other, children, neighbour and environment, but exuding the fruit of the Holy Spirit, as is expected to from any other children of God to do

Rebel and not complying with the law? You tick the box
Finding love propelled and faithful same attraction relationships too hard for you to swallow? You tick the box

grin Oh! Muttleylaff, thank you for making me laugh!

I have repeatedly told you that I have No Jurisdiction whatsoever to judge you or any soul whether he practices homosexuality or Not!

Would you not let this homosexuality matter rest?

Practising homosexuality or not has nothing to do with me brother. Read the Bible properly and correctly to know that its all about making righteous judgment, lmso

It has to be CHRIST LIKE except the SHADOWS is greater than the REALITY

Colossians 2:17 Hebrews 10:1

And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage
Galatians 2:4

Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom James 2:12

The law of FREE PEOPLE

Like the PHARISEES........LEGALIST and LEGALISM enjoy the below

Ultimately their zeal for ruling on all possible applications of the Law brought them into conflict with God’s Word(including Jesus himself) even when Jesus said in
John 5:39

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me(CHRIST-LIKE) to have life.

The LEGALISTIC approach won't allow the PHARISEES to see clearly. When Jesus said they were BLIND, they said no they can see grin grin grin grin and they remained in their SINS propelled by their LEGALISM grin grin grin grin John 9:41

as the traditions(LEGALISM and LEGALISTIC approach) they developed in applying that Law resulted in nullifying the more vital principles of that Word. (Matthew 15:1-9) Their extreme focus on law inevitably caused them to become self-righteous, priding themselves on their superior obedience and their various abstentions. As a result they became judgmental of others who did not measure up to their standards and adhere to the interpretations of law they developed and the program of routine acts of piety they performed. They trusted in themselves that they were righteous and considered the rest as nothing.

The truth remains that most people don't study the Bible to know the God they want to worship before joining the religion of their choice. They feel God should accept them anyway they present themselves not minding his feelings and rules.
The true God introduced himself to the nation of Israel as a stringent deity having rules worshipers must adhere to strictly.
When Jesus came he said something similar "I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me" {John 14:6} this means for anyone to gain favour from Jesus' father, such a person must adhere strictly to Jesus' counsel! Matthew 17:5
Yes there are self righteous religionsists that we must be careful with {Mark 8:15} but that doesn't imply that God has no standard that's guiding his own worshipers. They must be recognized by the same line of thought guiding them as one! John 17:20-23 compare to 1Corinthians 1:10

1. It is impossible to have a "cordial" relationship with Jesus Christ, God's own Law, without submitting to and following His rules and regulations, what is also known as the Truth of God. Jesus's own very teachings and examples are those rules and in order to be Christ-like we ought also to follow His teachings/commandments and examples, making sure to carefully obey His commandments as that is also the only way to love Jesus Christ. undecided

2. Jesus Christ announced severally that only those who submit to and obey His laws will become worthy of Him. In fact,in order to enter into the Kingdom of God through the Narrow gate which leads to Heaven in the end, Jesus Christ declares that one must in fact begin a relationship with Him by obeying rules and regulations given by Him. undecided
Ofcourse only those rules that are given by Jesus Christ matter - all rules born of the doctrines and traditions of men are nothing but lies that lead the wrong way. undecided

3. Where it concerns sin, it is also submission to and obedience of His teachings and commandments that Jesus Christ prescribes as the only way for a one to be set free from bondage to sin. John 8 vs 31 - 41. The Truth of Jesus Christ- His teachings and commandments- and the following of them is the only way to free oneself... and this before the Spirit of God can begin to live inside of one. undecided

Jesus Christ is the embodiment of God's very Law and there is no having a relationship with Him without obeying His very commandnnets/laws. It is through obedience to Jesus Christ, the Law, that one obtains Salvation(be saved from the condemnation of sin .i.e.Death), become born-again to gain access into the Kingdom of God, be set free from the clutches of sin, abide in Him so that He, Jesus Christ abides in you, receive the Spirit of God etc. undecided

There is no other way but through the following of Jesus Christ which entails submission and obedience of His comandments/rules. undecided
