Op thank u. They were never sincere to meet the five 4 five demands.
Now they want to guilt trip us for protesting.
Who removed the cameras?switched off the lights?
Who deployed the military to a peaceful protest?
Well this just the begining.

The greatest problem in Nigeria is lack of comprehension.

Our educational system has helped to create a lot of educated illiterates.

Now OP are you sure you comprehended the information released by the state government/governor?

How can a newly constituted panel that is yet to sit and deliberate on any petition, already recommend the prosecution that already has court charges ongoing?

Please stop stoking anarchy with misinformation.

The governor only released ongoing cases of prosecution of police/SARS by the state prosecution, and the next court dates for those cases.

Every educated human being already understands that those are ongoing cases that could have began years ago going by how slow the judiciary is in Nigeria.

The panel has not sat on any petition, and the Governor never made any such claim about those ongoing cases he rightly cited for our collective follow up.

Can't you even see the title of the different news report from the Governor that you referenced yourself and realise those are ongoing cases? Isn't it obvious enough to a sane mind, since you can atleast read and write?

Do yourself a favour and compare the first part with 2020 list

Sanwolu has lied, will keep lying till he's caught in own web.

He claims the camera removed from the toll gate was infrared camera used to capture plate numbers, it was removed because that camera can capture images and videos in the dark.

Everything that happened on Tuesday was premeditated, remove the infrared cameras, off the lights so the CCTV cameras won't be able to see clear images.

Listen to the voice note of him and a foreign envoy, he KNEW the soldiers were going to open fire at tollgate but the time was miscommunicated.

Sanwolu is a murderer. In a climate where there's accountability and Justice he should be cooling his legs behind bars waiting for his sentencing.

The shame is on you for not accepting that you are in error here.

Show us anywhere the Governor ever said the cases he cited were for new charges in court, when we all now the different state panels for such matters have just been created?

You are just discovering Mungo Park for nothing where there is no discovery to be made.

We may hate the government, but we are not stupid illiterates here.

Stop putting words in the mouth of government, only to turn around to dispute the words you put in their mouth.

We already know that our legal system is slow with prosecution. That is why the reforms I have also clamoured for here goes beyond SARS.

Is bail free at any police station?
Are there not many remanded in jail who are still waiting for over 2years for their next court date since the last appearance?

Why are you surprised that a criminal case has begun since 2016 without conclusion? Are you not resident in Nigeria to understand that is part of the problem that need to be resolved?

Now that we know the ones ongoing that concerns murderous police men, it is our duty to follow up on those cases, and being in the spotlight now with the citing done by the Governor, the judiciary will have no choice than to fast track the case so justice can be served.

Any new case that will emerge from the new panel, must also be followed up so we do not have a repeat of such delayed trials.

As for you, go and work on your comprehension skills.

You problem is that you do not realise that there is a difference between "those whose prosecution is ongoing" as rightly stated by the Governor, and "those who will be prosecuted" as you claim/lie the Governor said.

Thank you for exposing the guy.

They simply want violence in Lagos.

Wike even said the police officers that were indicated in Rivers state years ago are still walking free because governors have no real power to prosecute the Police.

People like you don't know when to stop once you've set out with your own miseducation.

Your hideous agenda will only serve to diminish the gains achieved by the likes of Aisha Yesufu.

How can I be wrong about a news whose source was the Governor, and which has also been cited by the poorly educated chap who is brewing a storm in a tea cup due to his own poor comprehension?

Did the Governor ever claim the court cases he rightly cited as ongoing, are newly prosecuted cases arising from the then ongoing protests, or from the recommendations of a newly constituted panel that has not even entertained any petition?

If we must lie or do a political hack job, do it with commonsense.

Even the evidences he provided, rightly shows that the Governor clarified they were ongoing cases, and not new cases from a panel that has not even entertained any petition yet.

So the Judicial panel will now handle cases already in court.

The governor inaugurated a panel just on Monday, and even informed that the panel is incomplete, as it is pending the 2 youth representatives to complete the panel.

He further went on to inform about ongoing prosecution by the state that involves police men and listed the case charge and the dates of the next court hearing.

The same Governor has also just announced that petitions of police brutality can be sent to the panel which is now seating.

A miseducted Nigeria suddenly wakes up and claims to have done an investigation that indicates the Governor was lying, and the cases cited are old cases from 2016.

Please answer this question. Did the Governor ever claim the cases he cited were from Police brutality that occurred on the day he made the disclosure?

So why is someone lacking comprehension and trying to discover River Niger like Mungo Park, when the many villages that lie on the boundary of the river have long been traversing the same river?

Did the Governor lie to anyone about the ongoing nature of the cases he cited for Lagosians to follow up with their next court proceeding?

Miseducation is a danger to the society.

Government need to spend money on quality education.

What exactly is your issue with what the Governor cited?

So it is no longer that he lied, as you have now finally realised you have a comprehension problem?

Your anger now is that the cases he cited are from 2016?

So you did not know the cases are already ongoing prosecution of police men, whose next court hearing are coming up soon, hence why they were the ones cited by the state government?

Devious minds like yours only need to be kept talking long enough to inadvertently admit that their initial vexation was misplaced and due to poor comprehension of even the evidence they are presenting.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Governor, inaugurated the state’s eight-member panel on Monday to oversee all matters pertaining to police brutality in the state, while awaiting two representatives from the youth to join the panel.

Reinforcing the commitment of the state to prosecute officers who are guilty of criminal offences, Mr Sanwo-Olu has now released a list of cases in the state’s courts involving police officers.

“Today seems like a good day to get on to the work of rebuilding Lagos and ending police brutality.

To show our commitment to the latter, here is a list of ongoing prosecution of police officers for offences related to the violation of human rights in Lagos,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.

“Today seems like a good day to get on to the work of rebuilding Lagos and ending police brutality.

To show our commitment to the latter, here is a list of ongoing prosecution of police officers for offences related to the violation of human rights in Lagos,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.

See the list of the officers facing criminal prosecution in the state;

1. State of Lagos v. 1. Insp. Surulere Irede 2. Sgt. Sunday Ogunyemi 3. Corp. Hezekiah Babatunde – Manslaughter. Adjourned to 13/11/2020. Justice Ogunsanya

2. The State of Lagos v. Ogunyemi Olalekan – Murder. Adjourned to 5/11/2020. Hon Justice Coker.

3. State of Lagos v. Sgt. Gbanwuan Isaac – Grievous Bodily Harm. Set for arraignment. Justice Sholadoye.

4. State of Lagos v. Aminu Joseph – Murder. Adjournment date to be announced. Hon Justice Nicole Clay.

5. State of Lagos v. Sgt. Alechenu Benedict – Armed Robbery. Arraigned. Hon Justice Coker.

6. State of Lagos v. Sgt. Adebayo Abdullah – Involuntary Manslaughter. Adjourned to 28/11/2020. Hon Justice Coker.

7. State of Lagos v. Insp. A Mohammed and 2 ORS – Armed Robbery. Adjourned to 10/11/2020. Hon Justice Sonaike.

8. State of Lagos v. Matthew Ohansi – Murder. Adjourned to 19/11/2020

So please explain to everyone here how the Governor lied that those being prosecuted were just charged recently or due to the then ongoing protests?

People have to be careful of your type here.

Armchair critics who just stoke hatred of government based on their own poor education but are never at the front lines protesting.

How can he lift a list from 2016 and show us in 2020 as those who will be prosecuted.

Did the Governor claim they will be prosecuted, or that prosecution is already ongoing since whenever, and availed us of the next court hearing dates?

Improve on your comprehension before your cause trouble not intended.
