Why would it happen if he's law abiding ? I can't believe you! Irresponsibility mixed with pride! Nigerians truly deserve their leaders.

Road worthiness certificate is to certify the vehicle fit to be on the road.

Although I am not in support of what Lagos state gov did if it's true.

[q weuote author=Jagznation post=96485196]This people paid for road worthiness if the road were worthy they wouldn't take one-way....this is barbaric Sanwo olu has failed other states shouldn't emulate this evil.[/quote]

I question the legality and morality of this action by govt!

A govt that is radically irresponsible don't have any moral right to dispose of a property that belongs to any citizen unless by reason of debt or court injunction

And besides who passed such law as forfeiting ones car !

Barbaric laws

Most of cars being auctioned are private ones not even commercials. I think there are some measures government should not take in any poverty-stricken country. Beside, auctioning of car is selective process. Unfair system is dangerous to peace.
Government is interested in making money not in solving traffic problems. There are better way of punishing traffic offenders not by subjecting more people to poverty.

Very very dangerous to peace. Someone might personally consider oiling a pistol, tracking down a bidder they begged but who still refused to let them get thier car back, and putting some hot leads into his body when they find him.

People really need to be careful when stepping on toes o. Would have been better if the owners weren't there.

It’s draconian at best

Especially for a first time offender

A fine (I.e N300k max depending on type of car and year should be ok)

Raiders:
good. Nigerians are very stubborn and dont like obeying traffic laws. why would a driver drive 'one way'. he could have killed someone
Re: Tears As Lagos Government Auctions 44 Vehicles For Traffic Offences by Dearlord(m): 7:42am On Nov 27, 2020
From the looks of things, the cars auctioned are nothing but valuable cars.
The questions now is , is it only private car owners are the traffic offenders regardless of all this ganger taking MOLUE'S Drivers ?

This is not The Law, The Law will Never Do A Wrong or Wickedness, this is the Application of the Wickedness of the Wicked unto the People.

i thought so too. You're gaining from the pain of another, and you're smiling. What witchcraft?

Like when would Nigerians make good news headline like "Shock as Nigerians boycott auto auction so that the owners of confiscated vehicles can reacquire them"

God, (please) when?

If my car was ever auctioned off, I would track it and have thugs steal back from the buyer. I wouldn't care what the consequences would be. After retrieving my car I would then relocate to a different state.
What nonsense.

This is rubbish.. How can the govt sell sumone car when he is not dead...

This news shud be fake..

Was the owner compensated or he got nothing?

Traffic offense, fine.. But no govt has the right to auction someone's car....

Bcox I disobey traffic law, one govt go kon sell my car... We die there
You cannot commit offence and tell the judge the punishment to give you. You are not a judge in your own case.
Anything wey, they give you, take am like that.
Next time, don't commit offence.

If you need one come along.... Your type is why Nigeria is like this always condemn law put in place to check lawlessness. Come here in Ghana ND Take one way. Guess you hv not leave your vincinity. Smh for the kind of mentality we have in this country.

It's appalling how you use Ghana as a yardstick, you haven't travelled like I have dude and in my travels, no civilised country does that....penalties ranges from fines to seizure, jail terms, revoking of licences etc. It's rather zombies like you is the reason why we are in this mess....people who celebrate mediocrity.... Tell me, your politicians who beat traffic and break every known traffic law with their constant blaring siren while on the move....who has punished them, we have had several of these people knock down innocent civilians yet go scot free. You take pleasure in seeing people suffer, where is your humanity if the punishment is not a corrective measure, your politicians loot the national treasure dry, have you held them accountable... It's the common man who struggled to make ends meet that u will face...shameless you. Spare me the garbage you spill and save your yourself the embarrassment, see mumu....Ghana is your abroad...another rotten and corrupt African nation, that's why y'all ain't making no meaningful progress.... Fvck off dumbo

After you commited offence? You still want freedom?
Hence all the problem of Nigeria.
First of all, make sure you do not commit any traffic offence. This is BASIC training in any driving school. The driving licence that is issued is meant to signify that the driver has learnt properly and been tested by a certified official and is indeed ready to obey road regulations.
If you are too stubborn for all this, please get a driver or enter public transport let another person do the driving.

GBAM. The exact reason I have lost faith in Nigeria. Every single one of us is wicked in our own way, no genuine pure heart whatsoever. BTW why can't they come together and sue the govt. I don't think d law allows that offenders cars should be sold for traffic offences unless the offenders abandons the car which clearly is not the case here, they were supposed to pay fines not have dere cars sold

Ok. When politicians fail their promises, we blast them and wish them death. When PHCN fails, we blast them and curse them. People even commit suicide or relocate from Nigeria.
You have a driving licence which authorises you to use the public roads in LEGAL manner, and you REFUSED to do so. And you now want this same government to forgive you?
