@OP: Now that she is 18, I see nothing wrong with it but at 16, she was legally a minor. If the guy really cared about the girl and their relationship, then I think he should have waited till she was legally of age to go further with things. It reminds me of a Cuban guy I met when I was 15. I really like the guy and he liked me as well and although I felt that I was mature for my age, I knew that the 4 year age difference wouldn't go over well with my family so I ended things. Now that I'm in my early 20's, I don't feel bad about it.

The country she is living in the legal age to date any age and to marry is 16 so technically she was not a minor

well it is true though because the reason why puberty is at the age means that they are physically ready but just waiting for mental maturity, I think 12 is young but Who Im I to say anything I did not make man God did

I don't want my sons doing whatever at that age. But if they disobey, the consequences are much less worse. If you are a guy and you spent a lot of time in your teens smoking, drinking, f***ing, not really going to ruin your life. You'll mostly turn out OK. But if you are a girl and do those same things. . . from what I've seen, it doesn't really work out 

Do you see sort of see what I'm saying? I hope it doesn't sound sexist. I'm not sexist. . . I just don't want to have a very stressful time when I one day become a parent  I want it to be as smooth as possible.

For me, having a disobedient daughter would cause a lot more anguish than a disobedient son. . . just because I know that the risks are higher.

Sons only ke? . . . Mba ooo they'll be too much Testosterone in the home to deal with. A lil bit of oestrogens in the house will be most welcomed.

Pls I think any age is good to go, so far you are matured enough to know what love really is (relationships, sex and all that). Some people who are 70+ year olds are still struggling to find love, so no big deal. Take for example Larry King, Seven wives and still going strong!
