MrniceG: @ all, Elo huz, plz i need help here, i really want 2 apply 4 an addmission in Germany in two, three more school's but my problem is dis, i'v an HND in Elect/Elect Eng, i dnt kw which program 2 apply 4, PGD or an Undergraduat program related 2 my field of study, cos i notice most of us here apply wit dere Bsc, Beng for Master program.
The other is dis, i observe dat b4 sum1 can apply in sum of dis sch, dis requirment(TOELF, GRA, IELTS) meight be needed, not all d school's though cos 4 now i'v either of any of dis English certification. In dis thread i came across sum gud testimonies hw most guz got there addmission wit- out those english certification, plz i jst wnt 2 start up my application 4 summer semester but dnt kw hw 2 comOver dis prblm.thanks

I'm not sure u can apply for Msc with HND certificate. U require Bsc, except u want to aplly for Bsc... Not sure though

Most schools don't require Ielts or Toefl from Nigerians, but it's better u check the school's requirement on their webisite. U can search for schools on www.daad.de or www.mastersportal.eu

SimplyD:

All you need do is get copies of your documents authenticated by a 'notary public'- usually legal practitioners. You shoul find this option available for most universities in Germany, you can verify this on the "required documents" page of your choice university.
As for TOEFL you can also avoid it by obtaining a letter from your state's ministry of education which would indicate that you have been taught in English from primary education through university (about 16 years).
These worked for me and also for a friend of mine. All the best.

@ all concerning d TOLEF is't still possible 2 day to obtian a letter 4rm ur state ministry of education backing u up dat u were taught English all through primary and secondary school until unversity level. Thanks

If the school u are applying to requires Toefl, then u have to present it. Even letter from ministry of culture and tourism can't do anything

I kindly advice visa applicants to get an accommodation or hotel rservation before they arrive. I had to run 'helter-skelter' for a whole day before i got one. Great thanks to some Nigerians and more especially, the German students whom I met in the school, who helped me with my luggage and also to get an accommodation. I sincerely love this country! Expecting more good news from other applicants... wish you guyz the best.

sup bro, I will be in Freiburg on Monday by God's grace but yet to get accommodation; pls what is this stuff i'm hearing about emergency accommodation for students at the university of Freiburg? Is it like an hostel where students can stay till they get a place? And also how did you connect from frankfurt to freiburg? Did you take a train, bus or cab? Abeg no talk say my questions too much oh.. lol

Is it all accommodations that require a deposit? I guess the deposit is different from the rent right?

Its complicated. Its always better if your sponsor is single and if he or she gonna sponsor 2 people then he must be earning over 3k euro monthly with a nice financial status. He must have house like 3 or 4 bedroom.

If your sponsor is married then it might goes high to earning 5000 euro per month...Cos they will consider him sponsoring you also taking care of wife and kids with bills.Always hard and complicated once again!.

The relationship matters and in Germany people don't even want to do it because its risk.

i guess emergency accommodation is that arrangement for u to stay if u don't get accommodation immediately. You'll pay 8euros per night or so. Take a train from Frankfurt to Freiburg about 2hrs journey. You must pay caution fee, returnable if u don't damage anything

Why don't u apply to a public school that is tuition free or are u scared that public Universities in Germany too might go on strike?
