It keeps ringing in my head that the man knew he was about to be set up by someone or the company he works for as a cab driver was testing, maybe for some reasons.

1. There are cameras all over in Dubai and even his car would have a GPS connected to it. So he would have been caught even before he gets to the airport to fly back to Nigeria.

2. Who forgets 100k dirham in a taxi

The economic importance is a little nuanced.

Think about it this way, In Nigeria today, there are several deals, investments, transactions or sales that should be happening between us and that'll create more wealth amongst us BUT that are not happening PRIMARILY due to lack of trust (social Capital).

People like the man in the story engender social (trust) capital in that sense. The awarder (as humans typically are) has come away with a good impression of "Nigerians" from just one man's action. Some Nigerian could benefit from such impressions tomorrow.

what is there in lslamic value to learn? How honest are the mrthern elites who only built mosques to educate the mass but send there wards abroad to study for western education they condemmed. The north now established industries like boko haram, bandits, kidnappers, ransome collectors which the elites are benefactors.
