I'm sorry the NIMC app cannot do what I described above. Or did you not read what I wrote? Or probably you didn't understand it. NIMC app only displays phone numbers that you linked to it using the app not through other methods. Which means if someone links his or her phone to your NIN at Ibadan and you are in Jos and you have the app, you can't see the linked number neither can you unlink it. This is a security loophole they should look at.
you are right Bro,...I just downloaded the app to check my linked Sim, but it's only one that display instead of 3

But if someone should check and find out other phone numbers are linked to his nin without the owners knowledge.
Is there nothing he/she can do ?

I can also relate to this write up, I bought a new MTN sim last month and register it with the vendor on getting home I got a message from both MTN nd Airtel that a new sim has been registered with my NIN that I should call the customer care if I'm not the one that has the new number, I called those useless Airtel the only thing they told me is that I should go to their office..

Re: Serious NIN Crime Going On by Litmus: 11:37am On Apr 08, 2022
Honestly.... and many innocent people will fall victims of their trap. The people they hope to track are smarter than them.

Marquis de Sade advocated the pure libertarian state, therefor a state with very little state control - no police force, no judiciary etc. He argued that in such a State people would be forced to police themselves and eventually the forces of anarchy and order should result in a State of equilibrium. For example fear of revenge and retaliation would prevent people from raping, stealing, killing and so on.

In relation to the topic of this thread, Marquis de Sade might argue that, in the future, following endless protests of innocence by individuals claiming that their nin's had somehow been compromised, media reports, outcries over the systems, etc eventually the population will become extremely security and privacy conscious and protective of their NINs.

Okay that means that one will get a notification from the network when someone else uses your nin!
Then action will be taken

Authority should take note. One should be able to verify how many SIM cards are linked to his/her NIN.

It happened to me RIGHT IN AIRTEL OFFICE.
I CALLED THE CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY DEACTIVATED THE OTHER LINE THAT WAD REGISTERED WITH MY DETAILS.
DispatcherLagos:
Two days ago I lost my phone on my way back from work. So I decided to buy/register a new sim card yesterday.

So I branched to Ajah (along Ado road) to buy and register a new sim pending when I will have time probably by weekend to retrieve my old number.

While the registration was ongoing, I noticed the agent/vendor was selling already registered sims to customers without NIN, I became curious to know how possible it is considering all the protocols involve in registering new sims. So I asked him how much he sells the already registered sims and he told me 5k and I was still wondering how possible it can be.

So to confirm whether or not it's true I paid for a sim (5k) and he started with the "processing". First of all, there is this guy that came in to complain that his number was blocked even though he has NIN and had link it with his sim. The vendor through the help of the device they run their business with confirmed that there is a variation in the name used in registering the sim and the one in the NIN so he was told to wait (till he is done doing my work).

So after I paid for the already registered sim, I was surprised that the agent now called the man and started taking his passport. I picked offense by this attitude and confronted him(the agent) for abandoning me for another customer even though I came before him. At this point, he cornered me and told me to chill and that he was still on my work but only wanted to use the guy's NIN to link the already registered sim I paid for.

I was mad. So this is the extent people can go in a bid to make money? Imagine if I actually needed that sim and maybe I use it to perpetuate some crimes(God forbid) who do you think will be held responsible for it? I decided to bring this here to at least advise/warn us to be very careful and cautious of who has access to our NIN especially during this period that most sims are barred.

Pardon my grammar/typos. Thanks

Mine is that I linked my main line when they started this NIN nonsense thinking it has been linked successfully. I downloaded mtn app some months back and when I logged in, I was surprised to see Welcome Adeola.... Abeg who be Adeola? I then notice that the line wasn't linked.

Report him to security agencies! And see him get arrested. It is a very serious crime what they are doing. If you read newspapers, you will see this kind of stories steady.

So now you can see that the problem of Nigeria is from the grassroots aswell, this is how 5k will send an innocent man to Prison or life, while the perpetrator runs home happily playing 10/10
