i think calabar is one of the cleanest cities i have been there and was impressed

our govt should be buying these mechanical street sweepers they are very good in keeping the steets clean instead of risking the lives of men and women with broom and packer on our highway lol grin

Re: Nigeria's Neatest State by tpia5: 8:52pm On Jul 07, 2011
mechanical street sweepers are a good idea.

wonder why nobody has implemented them yet in nigeria.

or has any state/town done so?

and the people cleaning the streets manually could be reassigned to other areas as well so their incomes wont be affected.

Well, in my opinion, based on my personal experience sighting many cities in the country, i would say you can give the cleanest city to Jos, while the dirtiest city is Abeokuta. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Kaduna used to be spotless! How far down it has come since the 90s, Kano could easily give Lagos a run for it's money! Minna, Kebbi and Bauchi are worth mentioning. But I still think Calabar wins by a mile.

There is nothing like Owerri state. Owerri is a city. Let me correct you once more, from the time of SAMUEL ONUNAKA MBAKWE, Owerri had winning the neatest city in Nigeria. This did not start from Ohakim. In the time of AMADI IKWECHE Owerri won the neatest city in Nigeria despite selling their DUSTBIN SULO to River state. Enugu state came in during this current governor Chime's regime, Yes Calabar had been neat for a long time, Let us straight about it, Is among the first two in terms of neatness.

Surely, it is about the neatest state today, not historically.

Can you provide pics to support your claim of Owerri's neatness of today pls.
