Now the rate of masturbation and sale of intimacy gadgets will increase in Indonesia, na who no get vaseline for house get problem, Naira Marleys "Soapy" should be trending in Indonesia at the moment.

Just look at laws being passed in this century, it will tell you how backward the nation is, nothing thought provoking, special or progressive. Developing countries will need a long time to catch up to the developed ones. Load of uninspiring fcks everywhere. No

if u die, you will question on how u live ur life on earth, it doesn't matter we are in 21century devil don really enter people I support new rules

What exactly is backward about criminalising illegal sex and promiscuity?

The law is dumb. Indonesians are quite secular. People will find ways around it but it won't be perfect.

It may also encourage the rise of homosexuality as it has done in Pakistan.
Indonesia is majority Muslim country with almost 90%. There’s nothing secular that.

Indonesia, the world’s third-largest democracy, cleared a sweeping overhaul of its criminal code on Tuesday, outlawing sex outside of marriage, defamation of the president and sharply expanding its laws against blasphemy.

The new rules, which also apply to foreigners in the country, have drawn criticism from human rights activists, businesspeople and students who warned of the risks posed to the L.G.B.T. community and religious minorities. Opponents also said that the rules threatened the global reputation that Indonesia, which has the world’s largest Muslim population, has built as a tolerant, widely secular nation.

Indonesian officials say upgrading the existing criminal code, which dates back to 1918 when Indonesia was a Dutch colony, was long overdue. Among the raft of new laws, penalties around consensual sex outside marriage have drawn the most criticism.
According to the new law, unmarried couples who “live together as a husband and wife” could be jailed for six months or face a maximum fine of 10 million rupiah ($710).

Applaudable move by Indonesia. They are entitled to their own values much as the wild west are entitled to their wildness. Freedom of choice...
All they are saying is , If your kongi becomes restless, go and marry responsibly...

Generally, countries that enact religious laws tend to be poorer and backward in human development indices. A contrast to Indonesia is Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Those countries are richer, stable, functioning and more prosperous than Indonesia. You don't see Singaporeans working as maids in Saudi Arabia, and even semi-skilled Vietnamese who work outside the country are very choosy and opt to work in Singapore or Japan.

Religious laws do more harm than good to society.

@Topic: If not for the Chinese and Indian population, Malaysia would have done the same thing. Singapore was lucky she was pushed out of the union. Not all religions foster human development.

They are Indonesians and not Nigerians. You will see them comply. That is not to say it will completely eradicate Sex outside marriage but you will see a drastic reduction in Co-habitting and "Free Sex" as we know it.
The only thing it'll reduce is cohabitation, no policy can tackle consensual sex.

The next thing they will say America caused the riots, instead of blaming the fanatics in power. The politicians in that country are the major culprits of sex outside of marriage. They can afford it and they will do it.

From what I see, Indonesia needs money and this will be an avenue to raise funds. Other than that the law is useless.
