You got things messed up, and I have corrected this misconception about democracy several times on this thread.
Democracy has nothing to do with "majority rule", don't confuse your Nigerian mindset with logic and situation outside Nigeria.
America is the oldest democracy in the world, and since inception they inscripted this rule which gave equal power to states irrespective of demographic comparison between states.
It has never been about "popular vote" !
It is actually more logical to not go by popular vote if you want every group to have its say, your Nigerian democracy is just about which group has bigger population or which group Riggs better. While with American democracy, it is about what each group wants, and that will be balanced by giving each group equal power.

In a multiethnic country like Nigeria, it would make much more sense to have a system of voting similar to the USA's. But since most Nigerians are extremely ill educated and don't really understand what democracy means, we have people like you judging America's democracy with the belief that Nigerian "democracy" is the model for all to follow.

I keep correcting this and people keep coming out to remake the same mistake, that is the problem with nairaland and Nigeria in general. This gets me aggravated.

America is not the oldest democracy in the world.

Kindly correct yourself.

It would make more sense if you actually showed me an older democracy than America. That is how a logical argumentation is done. It is not about just making a claim and then expecting everything to fall around your claim.

⚡The German government stated that it does not recognize the legitimacy of the Russian presidential elections and refuses to call Putin president. The Russian Foreign Ministry responded.

Germany will not consider the presidential elections held in Russia as legitimate and will not congratulate Putin on his victory. This was stated by Deputy Spokesperson for the German Cabinet of Ministers Christiane Hoffmann.

German Foreign Ministry spokesman Sebastian Fischer, for his part, said that the foreign ministry will not indicate the position "president" in documents and official communications when mentioning Putin.

Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova in her Telegram channel called the German Foreign Ministry’s statement about its refusal to indicate the position of "President of Russia" Vladimir Putin in documents "an acute phobia."

I just dnt see how this small island can repel attack from the military might of China, given its larger population, economy, and military resources. I just don't see it.
In a month, china can manufacture enough munitions that can turn Taiwan into Hiroshima but in a conventional way.

To me, China doesn't care about Taiwan even though they want reunification, china wants a father-like status over Taiwan the same way they're to Hong Kong.
The presence of the u.s is the sole reason behind the inevitable war in that region.
The u.s has created a lot of military bases in that region, using Taiwan to provoke china to war is their main goal.
If Taiwan allow themselves to be used as a battleground, they'll become Ukraine 2.0.

The only luck Taiwan has, is that china is not Russia.

Try to not contradict yourself when you write. I keep observing people here making statements in which they contradict themselves. China does care about its breakaway region taiwan ! You said it, china wants reunification, you can't say that and then also claim china doesn't care about taiwan
Also Hong Kong is totally part of china, china is not "a father to hong kong", hong kong is part of china and not a breakaway region.

Take care though, I'm tired today. Hard day.

In Kyiv, Senator Graham urged Ukraine to send youth under 25 to the front lines and swiftly pass a mobilization law.

"I hope those eligible to serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces will join. I can't believe it's 27 years old. You're fighting for your life, so you should serve, not at 25 or 27 years old. We need more people," Graham quoted by Washington Post.
He also urged Ukrainians not to base their mobilization decisions on whether the US continues to support them.
"Whatever we do, you must fight. Whatever we do, you fight for yourselves," the senator said
