@Lutherblaq

Something that beat my imagination is how someone will suddenly anounce the removal of subsidy on his inauguration day without a single plan grin
Did he thinks nigeria is iragbiji.

@me
This issue has been on for too long with attendant politiking, lobbying, diverse interests and falsehood. I bet you the moment the president sits on that seat for one week without taking the action labour will come up with the usual demand of fix all refineries before subsidy can be removed. Buy buses for workers. Increase minimum wage etc. This will go on till the end of this year.

The current approach is better. Remove subsidy and discuss the palliatives. It takes a strong leader to do what tinubu did. He has a full grasp of the problems and his own approach before mounting on that seat. Bubu didn't. Time is short. Nigeria is down. We don't have the luxury of time

Bros I am sorry if my tone appears to be insulting but i swear it is not meant to be. I tried to avoid using insults, but just needed to highlight that we should try to criticize constructively and not just for the sake of it. I know how the hardship will hit mostly the general populace, but the reality is that nothing good in this life comes with ease. We can envy the developed nations of this world but if we can go through their histories of development, we will find that they have passed through difficult stages like this. I have seen pictures of where people were fetching water with buckets from fire hydrants on the streets of London in the 70s due to water shortage. What about the great depression of the 30s?

It is obvious that subsidy would have to go at one point and all three major contenders have said the same thing about removing it . I actually referred to Peter Obi because it mostly his Obidient lots that would continue to have issues with any steps taken by the present administration and it was meant to show that even Peter Obi said he would remove the subsidy immediately without any day longer.

Lutherblaq:

Now you are insulting me for saying my mind sad and even atatching me Peter Obi.

If the sufferings nigeria has been going through since does not moves you it pains me to the core.
Re: Subsidy Removal: Revert To Status Quo – TUC Tells FG by Baatunde(m): 3:45pm On Jun 03, 2023
It appears people do not have the full grasp of what the subsidy entails. Subsidy is not only about imported fuel. It means even locally refined products would no longer be subsidised and so even if all the refineries in Nigeria are working full blast, fuel prices would still be determined by the international price of crude oil. Yes we might save a bit on cost of freight for imported fuels, but it still would never sell for N185.

Do you know that Saudi Arabia used to subsidise fuel for its people so much that a litre of oil used to be cheaper than a litre of water but even they no longer do the same again and fuel price in Saudi is now comparable to most other countries with or without oil. Fuel is now cheaper in Nigeria than Saudi , Iraq, UAE, Qatar, Oman and Russia. Of all the key players in the oil sector with prices lower than Nigeria, only Kuwait can be described as having any meaningful economic developments. The rest like Iran, Venezuela, and Angola are spending so much on subsidies at the expense of infrastructural growth

They will cry, it’s like they are all MAD. Tinubu will proscribe TUC and NLC and banish the two rogue associations for ever. Go and find out what he did in Lagos to Lagos NLC. You will be disbanded forever

It’s like you think this is Goatluck Jonathan whom you can intimate into submission, you are wrong. This is Emilokan Tinubu, the Civilian General that did what the military generals could not do. What General Olusegun Obasanjo, General Muhammadu Buhari, Alh. Umar Yar’Adua and Christian Brother Goatluck Jonathan could not do for 24 years, Emilokan Bola Ahmed Tinubu the Jagaban Borgu City Boy Extraordinaire did it in the first 30 minutes of his government.

The generational fraudulent fuel subsidy is gone forever. Expect more hard decisions in order to rebuild the faulty foundation of this country

The removal of subsidy has come to stay,this is in the best interest of the Nation. If we can survive the hardship that go with CBN Naira redesign,this one will not kill us.
The so called TUC and NLC failed to carried out any nationwide strike for the timeframe the currency redesign suffering of the people lasted,what evils can be worst than the one Nigeria experienced during this period, people were denied access to their own money, people spend hours and hours in the bank for money that is not available.people died of hunger,many businesses collapse especially those that trade In Perishable goods,yet no strike was called just because Labour party presidential candidate supported the inhuman policy of Naira redesign. Nothing should stop or stand in the way of this subsidy removal,what is important now is the what the present government is doing to cushion the effects of this subsidy removal.
we are giving tinubu from now to Wednesday, we will lockdown the whole country.
Tinubu should not forget that 80% Nigerians don't like him, so if NLC just call for strike the whole country will support.

If we ask your type what's Fuel Subsidy now. There's a huge assurance that you don't know
Re: Subsidy Removal: Revert To Status Quo – TUC Tells FG by jimcaddy(m): 11:03pm On Jun 03, 2023
You don't just wake up one morning and remove subsidy. You didn't engage stakeholders. How are workers on a minimum wage of 33,000 able to cope with the high cost of transport and feeding? It's not fair now. It's those who have filthy money that won't see anything wrong with this. How about that cleaner or security man in your office? How is he supposed to cope. Some don't even earn up to minimum wage. I knew a security man who was earning 27,000 monthly. Imagine.

i dont know exactly what we want in this country. for years. the TUC and NLC battle and criticized the government for paying subsidy, alleging they are using it to siphon money. now that the government, howbeit removed the subsidy, same TUC and NLC, are clamouring the government should return to status quo- or what do they mean?

I am obidient, but I can comfortably say that it shall be well with Tinubu for removing fuel subsidy. At least I will stop seeing our fuels in the streets of Cotonou and Togo

Thank you Tinubu. You did very well sir.

For this action,I am now agbadorian.
