Can i ship the cars i want to use privately to PTML as personal effects and clear it as such. As i mentioned earlier, i have a 2012 Honda Accord i want to ship down for private use.

You can't ship in those cars as personal effects.
N1.6m would clear the accord from the PTML terminal.

The amount i quoted would still clear it.
The hike affected mostly cars between 1999 - 2011
When would your car arrive Lagos?

I still have the car parked in LA. I have not decided the best way to ship it down since there is no RORO in CA. Besides, the 1.6M clearing cost is forcing me to stop and think. I didn't realize initially it will be up to that. As soon as i decide to ship, i will let you know. I may have been better off getting 2007 Lexus ES350. By the way, what is the clearing cost for that 2007 Lexus ES350?

We do have to get a Risk Assessment Report(RAR)prepared for this for N50k and takes up to 3weeks to be ready.
You pay receipted payments(Duty/terminal charges etc) while we pay the UN-receipted ones and charge you N400k if we would help you negotiate a lowered duty and N250k to just handle the process.

N500k would get it cleared(If on Grimaldi then N450k would get it cleared)

N400k would easily have done it before this newly implemented unfavorable duty regime.
For now N450k is the best for it.

If you have not bought the Van then buy from the USA from Maybe NY/NJ and I can help you arrange shipping on roro grimaldi for $1250 and clearing for N210k here in Lagos.
