Before condom was introduced in Nigeria, young boys and young girls abstained from sex not for religious reasons but because of fear. Girls were afraid because their parents told them they would become pregnant once they are touched by a man. Boys abstained from sex because their parents told them that once they touch a girl she would be pregnant. The fear of contracting sexually-transmitted diseases was another thing that kept children away from sexual activities then. But immediately condom came and children discovered that they can get away with underage sex, sexual activities began to thrive among children in Nigeria.

It is also wrong to blame social media and movies. Social media platforms don't supply themselves contents and movies don't create themselves. Adults create and release those contents. If social media should be blamed, why are you using the same social media to preach the gospel and tackle societal problems?

Keeping the tools away from them is more effective than trying to change their minds when they have the tools.

Movies and pornographic website triggers these a lot.
Imagine porn site are rampant and free for that matter.

I just laugh at all these your solutions. As if most of the secondary school girls enter into relationships to get pregnant and drop out of school.

The solution to these problems:

1. Proper parenting (most of the MODERN PARENTS are sex addicts themselves and dont even see anything wrong with their children having relationships).

2. Society needs to stand against immorality. (Same society worshipping porn actors and actresses who drop leaked sex videos to entertain them once in a while)

3. School sex education (Some schools, especially private schools, cover up these activities so that they dont lose students)

4. Early marriage/Timely marriage (Children should be trained to get skills after secondary school. All these waiting for university admission, spending ages in school due to ASUU strike and then going for NYSC is just waste of children's time). If a child has skills after school and is already making money by LATE TEEN or early twenties. He/she can get married at that age and they build their future together.
