That ban should have started years earlier. In this day and age of easily available information on health and safety, I find it hard to grasp why most Nigerians continue to indulge in the consumption of things that will wreak havoc on their system. As uncivilized as our old lifestyle practices look, they have kept us healthier than most parts of the world in recent years... Some of you are too educated (yet dull) to realize that eating rice and other foods served on clean leaves is a mile healthier than eating it served in plastic and styrofoam (takeaway) plates. |

SeeWahala:. They don't think, the bots are on auto reply to defend any shit from the government, the funny thing is that they are most times people that are not benefitting from the corruption but they are ready to defend the corruption and useless government policies with their last breathe until the rubbish hits home. 1 Like |

Has anyone reported the harmful effects of the use of styrofoam? I have not seen anyone complaining of cancer from the use of styrofoam. |

HeadNigga: Sigh... That doesn't even make sense. Meaning, they can sacrifice more people's health within 3 weeks just to protect other people's profit margins. |

ObalendeCMS:THIS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM. DROPPING OF REFUGE WITHOUT RECOURSE TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH IMPLICATIONS. WE NEED TO INTRODUCE THIS SUBJECT IN OUR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL PROGRAM. EVEN IN THE FEDERAL CAPITAL CITY OF ABUJA, IT'S THE SAME. ON A BUSY EXPRESSWAY LIKE THE AIRPORT ROAD, THE WAY PEOPLE THROW THINGS OUT OF THEIR CARS BAFFLES EVEN THE INSANE PERSON ON THE ROAD. 3 Likes |

So bottle water, plastic coke & Pepsi, beverage cans, nylons etc, doesn't cos havoc during and after rainy season!?They don't block gutters too!? The major issue is the dumping of these refuse in the gutters and roads. If you use a plastic, drop it in the dustbin not the road or the gutter. You need to first change the orientation of the people. Now you want to cause more havoc by plunging the workers into poverty, 2 Likes 1 Share |

Lawalemi:Your appeal is baseless, don't you read that the ban has been in place 3 years ago? Yet no proactive measures are being taken by the manufacturers and users, what we see is increase in production and distribution outlets . The environmental degradation is of paramount importance. The worst part of it was people's deliberately throwing them them away arbitrarily. I expect other states to follow suit . 1 Like |
