ToteJesus: The Troubles With NLC Proposals: They were never! Just galivanting here and there- as tutelage politicians marauding under LP banner. The NLC should have never involved themselves in Politics or directed themselves or Members into any Party,by being Neutral - like before, because this is not a UK,where you have a Conservative or Labour in government, but here we are being polarised as a body and being partisan and that is why the Current NLC is not getting Nigerians commitments! -First NLC said N1Million now we heard them saying 650K per month per worker.just imagine their Economic jargons, you know they have nothing to tell 'upstairs'! Which Company,Private Sectors,or individual Employers - would pay this and to how many Workers, without the Company folding up? Must all Nigerians be Politicians? I don't like Politicians, for they love to tell lies to the Masses because they know the Masses are gaulibles and don't ask for Accountabilities and Commitment in Govt! The Labour leaders of today are just cruising with the Monthly, quarterly Workers -Dues and Remittances, which they can't even accounts for since ages. They should just show us: - how they can bring more Employments to Nigerian Youths, -More Productivity to Labour in Nigeria to earn dignity of labour. -More Exports to earn more Forex. -More Efficient labour utilisations. *Note-To President Tinubu: -That our Labour Leadership have been bastardised doesn't give your Govt the upper hands in silencing the Workers demand. - why is it easy for this govt to remove Subsidies on Oil,for past year, yet you are yet to agree on the Workers wages and Salaries? - Nobody knows how much have been collected as Revenues from this Subsidies Removal! - All Nigerian Workers, the Masses and Retirees are feeling the effects of Subsidies removal,so when would the Workers smile to the Banks again? - the Markets is not smiling on the Nigerian Masses,so when would the govt get the Youths to work? - When would the Production Capacity of Nigerian Workers, through Establishment of Companies be restored? - When would the DISCOS give Nigerians 24/7 Lights to drive Industilisation that Nigeria Urgently needed? Not by Generators usage! - When would Nigeria enjoy the Crude Oil - through the Functional Refineries in Nigeria? We don't need to wait for Dangote's Refinery - a Private own- to dictate the Prices to Nigeria! •The reason why there is hyper-inflationary- Inflation in Nigeria is because the Production Capacity is Very Low and can't meet the growing Population needs,so what are you doing about it? - I suggest the quick Solutions is: 1. Govt should stimulate the TRIO of Economic Rendezvous through -INVESTMENTS--SAVINGS --- and ---CONSUMPTION MODEL. e g .CBN have serious roles to play here by -ensuring that Small Funds are given to Millions Of Entrepreneurs- who are ready and Serious to Produce more at home. -This entails NBillions of Loans Facilities -- at a Single - Bank Interest Rates.e.g.5- 6% rates- to bring it closer to the Masses. * most Nigerians don't Patronise Banks on Loans because of high Interest-Rates! How would this same NIGERIANS Invests in the Banking - Re - Consolidation now,if they don't have Free Money To Invest . 2.Govt should mandate the DISCOS - to function Or buy them back,by Paying -Off those that owns them because they are the major Problems in Nigeria today because Nigeria is having more darkness to contend with! * No Country drives her industries by Generators. 3.Nigerians should buy Fuel at a Cheaper Price- Only by ensuring Functional Refineries across Nigeria. -Why is it that out of All OPEC Countries ONLY Nigeria is still Importing Fuel? 4 .Put All other Sectors to Work - why are they just Collecting the Budgets - without any Productivity? -e g What is Agriculture -Sector doing to reduce Food Scarcity in Nigeria? - What are those Ministers doing to add Values to Nigerian States. We should be having enough Foods to Feed Ourselves, thereafter,we can Exports - like the Indians. 5•Reduce Corruption in both the States and Federal Level, including MDAs ( Min, Agencies and Departments) •Can we have and know--what Positive Effects have these MDAs is having in Nigeria? • What have the States Governors- been using the Homongous NBILLIONS Money Released to them for -in their various States: i•the Presidential Palliatives- Money given to ALL the States by the Federal Govt immediately after the removal of Subsidies. ii•the quarterly Federal Allocation Funds/ Money- being shared on regular basis. iii•the 13% Derivation to Oil Producing States in Nigeria. iv•the Annual Budgets NBILLIONS Allocation by All the States in Nigeria. •Nigeria will be Great- ONLY If We Work Out Economics Development -like the India Population of 1.4B People, yet they are Exporting Various Goods and Services( Rice,Beans, Computer - Services,Soft wear engineering, etc) and they are also the Largest Democracy in the World and NOT on Politics- which is Spending Our Resources. God bless Nigeria . 1 Like |

sleek214: Well, your government has been squandering Billions on reckless frivolities since they were sworn in, from state to Federal. Recently, they subsidised pilgrimage with over 85 Billion Naira... Prices of Fuel, Gas, Electricity, Food, etc, are soaring daily. And you are here talking about unrealistic demands. There has to be a common ground... The masses can't suffer in order for the elite and privileged few to flex. No nation will stand or survive that. Tinubu and his minions are dancing around the precipice of a bloody revolution. 2 Likes |

NLC will declare strike on or a little after May, 31st and many workers will disown NLC and disobey the order immediately. No work no pay policy will take effect immediately. Half bread, they say, is better than none. There will be many publications as to how the NLC is deliberately trying to sabotage the effort of the present administration by making unreasonable and impossible demands. It will be established beyond reasonable doubts that the union leadership is acting as puppet for a certain political party in preparation for 2027 and the leaders will become so unpopular, despised and disowned even by their own family members. After two months of strike, the federal government will advertise the positions of the petulant, stubborn and adamant ones that are still on strike as vacant which will elicit multitude of applications. The federal government will have activated the new minimum wage at this time. These actions will deal a fatal blow to the ill-fated strike and a deadly fracas will break out among the union leaders which may cause total collapse of the union. As the Nairaland falseProphet would say, this I have seen. 1 Like |

Doyin2: The labour union seems to be Soo clueless and economically daft It's called MINIMUM WAGE for God's sake. Ask the people clamoring for this insanity if they had seen staff on minimum wages before? If you are a Primary school cert holder, you are even earning above minimum wages in the FG/SG agencies, talk more of if you are employed as a young and fresh graduate on level 8. So, a level 8 young graduate will be earning almost 2M, and he is expected to have 4 children and a wife, live in a Behind apartment paying almost 2M per annum. These people needs to be wiped with Oraimo cord on their back seriously. Private sector employs more people than Govt in the country, how many companies will be paying that insanity, even banks can't pay it. 1 Like |

I don't understand, did the man say workers should be paid 650k monthly? . If yes, then he is definitely a clown or joker to mention such a funny amount, he seems to be inexperienced for that leadership role. A wise person would have mentioned a sensible amount, eg 100-150k. |
