Considering the correct cost of living, any minimum wage agreement that is less than 200k is nothing to write home about,
Re: How NLC Power Disconnection Impacts Hospitals - Bearded Dr. Sina by Calylove: 2:09pm On Jun 03
It is well. Let us join our hands and sacrifice to make the government do the needful. Do not say anything that will affect this struggle. I see some people going to school and work today despite NLC call for strike. Is it that those going to work and school like the way the nation is? Is it that they like how the economy is?
We must bear little pains to let the government know that we deserve better. Some have also said that the 490,000 that the NLC is asking for is much. For me, it's not much. Those who said it's high can go on and work for free. Those people are not emphasizing the 60,000 that cannot buy a bag of rice that govt is offering. Think about it please.
Nigeria will get better.

How is that even legal?

They need to have all the heads of labour arrested.
In a serious country, shutting down power by nlc should have seen that dog AJAERO and the tuc President arrested by now.

Any 25% serious country would have sorted out minimum wage issue longest time.
Let's be sincere for once.

small scale businesses rely on nepa.

How many small business owner can afford 600-1k for diesel or petrol?

Nepa, how many hours of light in a day,to not to depend on gens?

As small a business as a barbing saloon is, you still need a small gen standing by to survive nepa.

Mr bearded doctor which hospital u dey?

Go and put on the damn generator!

Gaddamitt!!!

U resident doctors fight for money instead of good working conditions and how we can get more doctors into the system.

U think say u smart. Were u using stable nepa supply before?

So ur hospital doesn't have alternative source of power to keep some machines and systems on?

Oh! But u can fight for small money.

But u cannot fight for IPPs in hospitals.

Nonsense

Any minimum wage less than 200k, is same old story;
Politicians be cashing out like no man’s business while the masses are patiently waiting for the right time to revolt “suffering and smiling” indeed

So sad that people dey die but on a lighter note doctors and hospitals constantly neglect patients to die because of money too. No gen for the hospital? Blame the govt for their wickedness

that small hours of light is better than nothing and it's what they are managing to keep their business afloat.

E.g pure water/beverage seller that needs his/her fridge to work couple of hours to keep his/her business's going.

A small gen is to complement whatever nepa gives them, not what they will rely on 24/7 without running into debt.

NLC and all other affiliates think this strike will affect politicians, their children now, and to come. Only God knows how many innocent lives will be lost through the healthcare system for which the perpetrators of the strike are equally complicit. It is not only when events like endsars happen that we blame government.

I just hope government is able to do something fast to avert the unnecessary deaths.

This strike is uncalled for. How many strikes have they embarked on in 12 months and what did each one achieve? They are just suffering the masses. Very soon they will destroy the potency of strike actions due its frequency.
