I wished my state, Anambra, was well planned. It would have rivalled any city in Africa in terms of high rise buildings. This Ogidi was a remote village in the 80s. But the rise of prosperous Onitsha as a home of business and enterprise in Anambra has grown uncontrollable that it has swallowed neighbouring towns like Oba, Nkpor, Obosi, Nkwelle and Ogidi. Even Asaba in Delta has benefited from the spill over from Onitsha. Anambra seems to be the most urbanised in Nigeria. Government should do well to provide good inner roads and create more access road. The people would take care of other infrastructural development.

Ogidi has some prominent sons and daughters some of which include, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Tony Umez, Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines amongst others.

When you search 100 greatest books of all time on Google, you will find Things Fall Apart in the list. Also, Things Fall Apart is still being used in US universities and colleges today. ex-president Barack Obama read Things Fall Apart and it is among the books in his recommend list. This says a lot about the book and the writer.

Yeah, due to urbanization, many markets in Onitsha has moved towards Ogidi thereby making business men to acquire plots in Ogidi and build commercial houses which people rent. Ogidi is next town to Onitsha after Nkpor. So the urbanization has reached Ogidi

Many states has their mini park in this big market. Lorries leave this market on daily basis to different parts of South East and middle belt and South south states supplying building materials to smaller markets in those states.
