I wished my state, Anambra, was well planned. It would have rivalled any city in Africa in terms of high rise buildings. This Ogidi was a remote village in the 80s. But the rise of prosperous Onitsha as a home of business and enterprise in Anambra has grown uncontrollable that it has swallowed neighbouring towns like Oba, Nkpor, Obosi, Nkwelle and Ogidi. Even Asaba in Delta has benefited from the spill over from Onitsha. Anambra seems to be the most urbanised in Nigeria. Government should do well to provide good inner roads and create more access road. The people would take care of other infrastructural development.

The reason for the high rise building in Anambra is due to lack of space.

Growing up my parents provided books by both authors to me for my English Literature classes. Wole Soyinka’s books were a borefest. I never enjoyed reading them. I only read them because I had to, so as not to fail class tests and all.
Chinua Acehebe’s on the other hand were books that spoke to me in a way that Soyinka’ works did not. I was happy to read them over and over again even during holidays.
