bestman09: This is why people ask for return to true and fiscal federalism under zonal or regional government system. Robbing Paul to pay Peter has continued for more than 50 years. Gully erosion and environmental pollution devastate the areas being robbed to feed other areas. Nigeria has the most wicked type of governance system in the world. 13% derivation to the areas devastated by gully erosion linked to exploitation of natural resources is like a scratch compared to the environmental degradation on the areas that harbour the natural resources. |

AfeezShomorin: To be honest now I can see why obidients no get joy. It really sucks to have come from such a place. Who dash monkey banana? How could any baby factory product born in a horrible erosion ridden dot-nation like this not be depressed and abusive? So this is how the Biafra they are fighting for looks like and some dumb South South people want to be part of this coursed land? Horrible!!! I appeal to reasonable Nigerians to chase these people back to this "Dubai" they desperately want but I bet they will be calling ICC, EU, World Bank, Israel, NATO and Arab league once people begin to chase them back to their cannibal infested Biafra. 1 Like |

Rechannel the drains and canals even as that might affect an already built-up areas AND ENSURE THE PRIMARY POINTS OF COLLECTION OF RAINWATERS ARE ALIGNED IN GOOD PROPORTION WITH ALL SECONDARY UNITS WHICH EASILY RELEASES INTO TERTIARY UNITS THAT CONNECT DIRECTLY TO A WATERBODY OR THAT CONNECT TO DIFFERENT MASSIVE CHANNELS THAT IN TURN OUTPUT INTO A BIG,WATER BODY. The road networks construction should be revisited too. In such critical scenario, the soil bed for the, road networks should be reconfigured for durability. The natural clay composition should be removed and then, a compact layer of gravels, followed by a compact layer of sand, followed by a compact layer of the mixture of gravel, sand and dry cement, before the top layer of asphalt (in that orderr) should be encourage to save the situation. 1 Like |

Wow funnily enough, these people would always bash Lagos concerning flood after rainfall. If you see the gully erosion sites in Anambra state ehn you would be scared to death. It's much better to be in Lagos during the rainy season than to be in many parts of the East generally. Igbo people never dey serious to develop the South East. There are several ways to control gully erosion but they just wouldn't do that for reasons I don't understand. May God help them |
