FRSC Abolishes Patrol Points In Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu & Imo by Broveens42(m): 4:50pm On Jun 21

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has said its patrol points in Zone 9 have been abolished to ensure the safety of its personnel in the zone.

Zone 9 comprises four Southeast states namely Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo.

The Zonal Commanding Officer, FRSC (RS 9.3 HQ), Enugu, Assistant Corps Marshall Winfred Uche Chukwurah announced this during his maiden visit to Abia State Federal Road Safety Command Umuahia.

Corps Marshall Chukwurah who was on a working visit to the States under his Command including Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Imo, said, “they are in a new era and as such should develop a new mindset” geared at having good attitudinal change and make significant contributions towards the success of the President Ahmed Tinubu led Administration.

The Zonal Commanding Officer, who extolled the commitment and resilience of the personnel in the discharge of their duties, also commended the harmonious relationship existing among sister security agencies, the state government and the press.

Chukwurah emphasized the need for the Corps to enlighten motorists as well as other road users on traffic offences and their consequences and also warned against acts likely to tarnish the good image of the Corps.

Earlier, in his speech, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Abia State, Corps Commander Frederick Ade Ogidan expressed satisfaction with the performance of his officers and disclosed plans to establish more units in the state to ensure the safety of road users in the nooks and crannies of Abia.

He solicited the assistance of the Abia government, individuals and groups toward the realization of the purpose for which the Corps was established.

But I remember when you used to urge soldiers and police to use them as target practice, so table has turned.

I am not in support of killing our security agents though.

Funny enough the people will rejoice, commerce will thrive and if need be any road nuisance will be dealt with by natural law instead of the law of oppression, extortion and extermination that Nigerian government and its various institutions are now known for.

For majority of easterners in that region it is good riddance to bad rubbish

That region is a no go area. Due to alarming rates of insecurity. Someone dared me to go to Onitsha or any town in the East and he will give me 5 million. I told him to keep his 5 million.

No be me go come kpai because of ordinary 5m. I will rather go to Sambisa forest for 10k, than go to that region for 5m.
