Nigerians have taken a swipe at Omoyele Sowore, African Action Congress candidate for the 2023 presidential election for insisting the hunger protests continue on Monday.

This comes after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday appealed to Nigerians to suspend the protests to dialogue with the government over the challenges facing the Nation.

To this end, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State, Jibril Gawat said on his social media account that protest leaders in Ojota have declared to suspend the demonstration after Tinubu’s speech.

However, in response to Gawat’s post, Sowore insisted that the protest continue on Monday, adding details of demonstration locations.

Meanwhile, Nigerians took a swipe at Sowore over his recent call.

@Bellotec: “If you like, listen to him, you will just die and die for nothing. Those who were killed yesterday in the Kurna/Bacirawa axis of Kano died for nothing, nothing will change, and nobody will be prosecuted, only leaving their family to grief. If you like, no listen, you won’t rest in peace sha.”

@bolajiayo: “Why don’t you come with your children and lead the protest? Why instigate other people’s children to go out and protest? What happened to your children? Abi they are not patriotic Nigerians?

@computizzy1: “Nah, bro. People are going back to work tomorrow. This shit ain’t working and they’re tired of it. You gonna have to fly down from the US to come run it yourself. You can still get flights from EWR or JFK that’ll get you to Lagos tomorrow morning.”

Tinubu’s broadcast comes after at least 15 have been reported dead, and several properties destroyed in Kano, Kaduna, Niger, Yobe and other parts of the country in the first three days of the protests, tagged #EndBadGovernance.

I don de search and search for the " Nigerians" that attacked sowore.
What is in the news is totally different from what is claimed.
Wetin i see na something like hel.ineus and yar,imo attack sowore.

If tinubu and his gang should invest a quater of the effort used to push propagandas into solving basic needs of the citizens, there will be no succesful protest.

Tinubu is a failed failure.

Protests are his bread and butter. He must be seen to be doing something to justify the huge grants he get from foreign sponsors.

The vast majority of Nigerians walking those streets even tomorrow do not know who Sowore is nor do they give a flying fk about him. These people are hungry, and tired of suffering. For many of them being out there with many others beating the pavement for their rights is their way of getting away from the ultra-lonely depressing existence that awaits them back home. They are desperate for change— not more likes and mindfuckery from their government— and some are already on their last rope. undecided

Sowore should always remember that only 14,000 Nigerians voted for his manifesto as a presidential candidate who promised not to remove subsidy.

But 22million Nigerians voted for Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi who vowed that subsidy must go.

Sowore should accept his electoral loss and move on to 2027, to see if more Nigerians would have finally learnt that elections have consequences.

You cannot blame the winning candidate for implementing his own manifesto and not the manifesto of the loser.

Very simple matter.

Remember that these people you argue with online and the agberos offline do not makeup even 1/100th of the Yoruba people. I would at least expect those of you who pretend to engage them from at least a level above their intelligence to know this. 10s of thousands of those who hit the streets across Nigeria the last 4 days, many of them calling on Tinubu to go, are also Yorubas. undecided

We have seen protest all over the SW. But Ibos are not protesting because IPOB has locked them in. Just yesterday, IPOB punished some Imo community leaders for misbehaving.

They no longer hide their hypocrisy abi?

We all know whenever a southern president is there the north always boils, it happened to Obj, it happened to GEJ, how you now don't want it to happen to Tinubu is what I don't get.

The north woke up to protest after standing by while Buhari destroyed the economy for 8 years, if they know what they are doing, protest should start from Buhari s house
